Gorgeous county pub. Visited and sat outside in quite a large party! This pub is absolutely PERFECT on a sunny day! Ordered in advance and food came out quickly and staff where very efficient and friendly!!!!!!! Food was lovely!
The pub has a huge field with a play park and swings….due to have an additional play area put in too!
Very impressed and would 100% recommend. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely afternoon!

Friday lunch time visit for us, table booked in advance good job because it got very busy. My wife ordered the steak and ale pie/creamy mash potato for me was the sirloin steak/chips and father-in-law cod n chips and our niece smaller one plate ham egg and chips. The pie had lovely pastry with large tender "chunks" of steak and creamy mash surrounded with cabbage and carrots topped off with gravy my wife's overall opinion was "delicious". For me I had the steak n chips £23 so I was expecting a tasty piece of beef cooked to my liking and I wasn't disappointed it was perfect say no more... The cod n chips got a thumbs up from my father-in-law and our little one enjoyed her ham/egg/chips. Good service from the very busy waitress staff, we will return.

Really impressed with this pub. Staff were fantastic and the food was great. All nine of our party liked their dishes! Some really interesting menu options too.

The pub is a little out of the way and has parking for a reasonable number of cars. It wasn't that busy considering we visited on Good Friday. There is lots of outdoor seating and plenty of tables under cover too.

There was a sign suggesting equipment could be hired for use in the very spacious garden, such as for badminton or football. Certainly a good way to keep children entertained!

Stumbled upon this fantastic country pub on a hike. So cosy and beautiful inside and lovely garden outside. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and great. Will definitely return and recommend to others.

1st time here and can't believe never been here before. Unbelievable roast (and I'm very particular) great taste and plenty of it. Young staff to be commended, service was excellent throughout. Atmosphere was very countryfile and very relaxing.
Intend to return very soon. Well done to the owners/management for a classy well run venue. Highly recommend to all.

What a lovely place for Sunday Lunch. Not hurried but allowed to enjoy the good helpings on lovely food. Cannot comment on the starters though as wanted to leave enough room for the delicious looking desserts and very glad we did. Very popular so make sure you book though.

Lovely evening at the Horse and Jockey. Food was incredible and well worth the money. We had the BBQ ribs and steak and ale pie (best pie ever).Service was fantastic, would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic meal again. I had forgotten how huge the portions are! Loads of under cover outdoor seating and a lovely heater too. Throughly enjoyed it and perfect service as always.

We went there yesterday,13/02/24, my wife, her sister and myself. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and very fairly priced. The service was very good. we could not fault a single thing. looking forward to going back again.

Called in on Sunday didn't book but they found us a table. Roast beef dinner to die for, best I have tasted in years. Good choice of wines, roasts beef,pork,lamb,gammon . But book very busy.

Absolutely beautiful venue, welcoming and friendly staff, and literally the best food we've had in a very long time! Highly recommend this place to everyone!

We travel over twenty miles to be there and it’s well worth the effort. We would highly recommend that you give the place a try because you won’t be disappointed .

First time for us here on
7th February 24 and we were impressed with the food and serviceand a lovely log fire and atmosphere. Will adopt this as a regular, Tony Debbie and our two visiting friends.

We went for lunch, the pub/restaurant looks beautiful with Christmas decorations, lovely open fire. Fantastic service. Wide menu choice with specials board. We had the liver and bacon with mash and veg followed by a desert. It could have been a little warmer, especially in the toilets.

First time here in many years and it's now better than I remember it. A lot of work has been done outside. Very well run and excellent staff.

Update: Been back a second time as there was a few things on the menu I needed to try this time i had the turkey pie which was on there specials board and My wife had the lasagne both dishes where to die for! Once again attentive waitress and what an atmosphere this little pub has

Our waitress couldn't do more for us! Beautiful atmosphere will be returning!

Lovely Christmas get together with friends. Food was delicious and well presented. Staff were friendly, welcoming and very efficient. Will definately come here again in future.

Food was really good some might say it's expensive but at the same time it's well presented and tasted good

Perfect food in perfect setting.. Great play park for the little ones.
And bonus the sun was shining..
