The White Lion

Great upstairs dining location with good lighting over the busy streets and series of very tasty traditional pub dishes. Desserts were very good too. Friendly efficient staff. Both the fish and chips and the meat pies were generous and good though we have had better fish and chips.

The atmosphere is like an old English pub (we are from Italy)and is quite clean.
The service is really nice and super available.
For our standards a little bit expensive but it's a good place ❤

Leannee Hannah accommodate us and gave us such an amazing customer service. She welcomed us, served us and even helped took our pictures. We definitely had a good time there.

Since our lunch had the fish and chips and so lots reviews had said the pies are awesome too hence we had it!!! Yes, it’s taste amazingly delicious!!!! And glass of great white, love it! Hopefully got the chance to back again for the fish & chips! ❤

Splendid, authentic and vivid pub. This pub has become a guarantee for me and I can’t believe it’s in one of the most touristic places in London, Covent Garden. You must try their pies, all of them are exquisite. My fav is the slow-cooked
Beef rib, shin & pulled brisket pie followed right after by the Steak&Nicholson Pale Ale Pie. The dining area upstair is leap in to the past. A mention of merit goes to the excellent service

I had a sausage sandwich which was delicious! The latte was great. One of the workers was a little grumpy as we entered while they were still setting up but Craig made everything better. Craig was polite, friendly and very competent!

My Grandchildren loved eating here we had a wonderful time

We're both pescaterians so it was an obvious choice to try out their Fish & Chips and Fish pie. Both were amazing! I tried a surprising beer that is now one of my faves. The staff was kind and welcoming. Vibes to the max! 10/10 Thank you White Lion!

Excellent food and very friendly staff. Very cosy, clean place. We had a wonderful brunch. Craig is fantastic! Very warm and went above and beyond for us. Will definitely be back.

This gem of a place is worth a visit!
The restaurant is upstairs and have a beautiful view out to the street.
The waitress was so kind and warm-hearted.
My wife didn't know what beer to order for her turkey pie, so the waitress came with samples, alone this is excellent service.
We both had pies, and they were delicious.
So all and all, this was an amazing experience 😊

On a 12-hour layover in London, we went downtown to do some sight-seeing. It was so cold and rainy that we gave up and popped into the White Lion Pub. The bartender was so friendly and welcoming and we had a great time. When the restaurant opened, we went up for some great food and discovered that the lovely server is from near our home in Canada. Small world. Made our day so much brighter!

Lovely pub right in the heart of central London. Popped in for a quick pint with my darling wife of 5 years. London has always held a special place in our souls because it is where we met on January 1st 2019. The young barmaid serving us, I believe her name was Hanna, was so helpful even offering us some local history and London factoids which my Eliza surely appreciated. We will definitely be returning!

Wow....we love this pub. Its small, busy and very friendly. Staff are great too. Up for the weekend to watch Argyle v Chelsea....we met a Chelsea supporter and his friends and had a great time over about 6hrs !! Nice beer, good gins and nice chips!! We don't make a habit of going back to the same pub but this place was the exception....back Sunday night for more !!

Upstairs from the delightful pub is a treasure of a restaurant you might easily miss.
The Pie Shop is a small, 9 tables mostly for 2, plus a small bar, in a room most might consider a reasonable sized front room, restaurant. Meals are prepared on the floor above and served via dumb waiter to the restaurant floor. To say the space available to this establishment is restricted is an understatement though customers would not think so given the excellent service and quality of fare offered.
The staff are great, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, never backward at giving their own recommendations off the menu. Speaking of the menu, speciality delicious pies are rotated by day on the menu, also offering, perhaps the best, Fish & Chips I've tasted back in the UK. Feel free to disagree, but I've tasted a few in different countries and so no slouch, though it is down to personal preference. The mushy peas did sway that opinion.
My companion started with the Fish Pie, accompanied by Bulmers, Old Mout Cider, and ended with a delightful Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard, wherby yours truly washed the main course down with some London Pride (on draught of course) and rounded the meal with an Bramleys Apple Pie with custard.
Two happy travellers on a trip back home were well sated with the food, drink and atmosphere that would be hard to beat in this modern day eat-on-the-go society.

Definitely ately a place to visit if you are hungry and want great home-cooked style food with a good choice of drnks.

Just arrived from Sydney, Australia and this was our first stop in London! Leanne gave us fantastic service and the fish and chips were great :)
