The receptionist was lovely! She had lovely nails and a bun! She sorted out my prescription so quickly and sent it through the pharmacy again!

Considering how much pressure the NHS is under the surgery is doing a great job, yes there is a wait at times but they always do their best to help. If people turned up for thier appointments it would also help, they have a poster in the waiting room which says 45% of people didnt turn up for their appoinments.

I have recently moved to Canterbury and registered with my local doctor. My initial phone call was very welcoming and friendly - a refreshing change from my old London surgery. I then had an appointment with a nurse - again, friendly and professional. Today I have seen a physio and have had the most excellent diagnosis with a treatment plan. I am actually overjoyed that someone is taking my mobility issues seriously and I am receiving help so close to my new home. I walk to the practice and pick up prescriptions from the chemist next door. Wonderful!

I can’t express how grateful I am to all the staff at Northgate who looked after my mum in her last 10 years until she died at 95. She was quite a demanding person but the staff were unfailingly kind and patient with her. I have absolutely no doubt that the reason she lived so long and stayed in her own home till 2 weeks before she died was largely to do with the superb care she received from the surgery - and given the increasing stresses on GPs, this was truly appreciated.

I have recently visited twice for a couple of issues which were seen as an emergency and referred to cancer pathway I was seen within two weeks which is brilliant thank you. Overall the whole practice is caring, empathetic and professional

Honestly can't fault the service at all. I've NEVER had issues seeing anyone. I tend to book online, whenever I've had an emergency they've been supportive and thorough. Every doctor or nurse I've seen has been super helpful, I honestly can't say I've ever had issues with this practice. I'm followed up adequately, my medicine reviews are done in a timely fashion. Wonderful. Very pleased. Little tip for anyone struggling is to book online, I never seem to have issues doing it that way, as long as you register for online service, I even get my prescriptions online, super easy.

I've been with Northgate for four years since moving to England. Registering was actually the one simple thing - far easier than getting a bank account - I showed that I paid my NHS surcharge and had my details and it was sorted.

I come from America, and my last year there in 2015 spent over $9,000 out of pocket on healthcare for myself *with* insurance. Any time I would set foot into my PCP was a $30 co-pay and a 25 minute wait to see a doctor I'd never seen before.

So I've been pleasantly relieved to have decent care. I've always been able to get a same day urgent appointment at the walk-in clinics. I've been able to refill prescriptions easily online. I've been referred on to specialists when appropriate, and listened to by the doctors and nurses and not made to feel like my concerns were not valid.

It is all in how you treat people. If you roll up with an entitled attitude screaming at staff, that probably won't be the best way to make people want to help you.

This GP is amazing. I'm super picky with GP's now after being misdiagnosed a cancer for 6 years. When I moved to the local area I was worried, but for no reason! This place is amazing, the receptionists are some of the kindest friendliest I have talked too. They really take the time to listen to your concerns and have even called me back and checked in with me regarding a flu jab. The GP's and nurses have always been great too. I cannot fault this practise and will be sad to go when I have to move again!

Wonderful service, did econsult the Doctor rang me shortly after I submitted information, was very helpful, prescribed medicine, arranged tests for next day, the nurse was very friendly and informative, many thanks, very very much appreciated
I might add over the years I have been with the practice the service cannot be faulted

Great practice, booked online for next day appointment, plenty appointments available online which saved phoning the surgery. Staff always helpful. Delightful music playing in the waiting rooms. The receptionist Isy is particularly helpful! I must say the way some patients speak to the receptionists is not very nice I overheard one person shouting at the receptionist being quite insulting they have a tough job to do a recent article in the Kent messenger says the Northgate ward is the 8th most deprived ward in the COUNTRY! they do a great job at Northgate, treat them with respect and its amazing how good they are.

I had a fall last week I was taken into the surgery by two very kind young men and once the receptions were free from dealing with a very difficult situation the attention I received from all the staff was second to none.

What can i say... such a marvellous practice, truly a breathtaking service. From the polite staff, the smell of rosemary in the air, to the fun toy in reception (which i completed in record time), I recommend to anyone seeking fast and high quality service!

The 5 stars are for Keith the clinical pharmacist Gary (physio) and the lovely Australian lady on the phone line i think if not for these guys I would have tried to move to another practice ....I know covid has made things very difficult but its almost impossible to get an appointment to even speak to a doctor and one hour waiting time to get through to reception to be told no appointments is unacceptable

My husband Frank and I both lined up on 9-1-2021 for our Covid jab, WE want to say THANKYOU to ALL the staff inside the building and those who were outside with us in the cold. YOU ALL DID A GREAT JOB .

Northgate Medical Practice is one of the largest in Canterbury, several different health care professionals on site as part of the GP services.

Such a lovely practice! The staff on reception are always friendly and helpful :)
