Beefeater The Woolpack

Nice little cosy looking pub/restaurant on the A20 with a premiere inn next to it if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

We are local and have Come to the woolpack many times with no issues. Unfortunately on this visit there were issues. We ordered the steak surf and turf combi. Priced at £23.99 so fairly expensive.

The service did seem to be slower than usual, but when we entered it did seem to be more busy than usual.

When our mains came the first impressions were very disappointing. Portions were far from generous, presentation was of a low standard and calamari over cooked. It was far from the price that was being asked. There is a picture attached.

I asked to speak to a manager. Laura arrived promptly. I simply asked if she would pay £23.99 for the meal served to me. Added to this we had waited around 35mins from starter to mains. She agreed that it was not up to their usual standard. She offered to have the meals re done.

I appreciate that sometimes we do not get things right but how can you make it better when something goes wrong. Laura dealt with the situation very professionally and promptly and the whole team worked together to get it right. Although I put 3 stars for food the replacement was 5 but the portions were still a little low.

I could not fault all their efforts, this experience would not deter me from coming back and I would still reccomend.

We went with a group of 12 people for an informal breakfast meeting. It was my first time joining the group and my first time using a beefeater for breakfast.
I was pleasantly surprised by just how good my experience was. By chance we met a member of staff as we walked in who was friendly, and she pointed us in the right direction of the group members who were already there, and explained the procedure of the breakfast and where it all was
Looking at was on offer, and there is a very good selection was delighted with the cost, not that I was actually paying myself.
A staff member took our order and I chose the full English, which had the choice of veggie bacon and sausages eggs anyway you wanted, toast and coffee fruit juice you went and fetched yourself which is no real problem.
I can honestly say I will return and have breakfast again and and would gladly pay for it😂.

I was served today by a young lady called Alex, who is very polite and hard-working.
The service was impeccable.
Alex showed maturity beyond her years, which is very impressive.
Nice place, relaxed atmosphere with great customer service. The staff keep offering me a seat closer to their vacuum cleaner & I keep offering to do the cleaning instead of paying.
Luckily, they appreciate my sense of humour.

Went to the beefeater on Friday for my birthday and absolutely loved it! The food was incredible (I had the festive steak on pastry WOW) and the service was even better. We had Charlotte, she was so so SO lovely, attentive and helpful. Such an asset to the team. The manager here (didn’t catch his name) was amazing and helpful too! Thank you all, will be back and bringing more family and friends next time!! 😆

First of all, you know what you are getting with a Beefeater. It's steak, burgers, ribs, fish & chips, etc but i prefer that over a posh restaurant with pretentious food any day.

It was quite busy on the day we went as it was a Saturday near Christmas, so the car park was quite full.

The atmosphere inside was great & the staff were absolutely lovely. We never found ourselves looking around to find someone to ask for something, which was impressive considering how busy they were.

Food was great, it came out hot & tasted good. The Triple Chocolate Brownie was amazing, well worth a try if you like that kind of thing.

All in all a good experience.

We just had an early father's day dinner here.

I'm a bit awkward with my food due to stomach issues. So I asked if I could have the flatbread instead of a bun on my build a burger.
So I ended up with a chicken breast and halloumi in flatbread and it was delicious. (You need this on your menu😊)
Also my partner wanted cheesecake but doesn't like honeycomb. So Phoebe our waitress suggested KitKat crumble and chocolate sauce on it instead. Also a winner!!

She was amazing. Very accommodating and friendly. We had a great evening. Thank you sooo much to everyone working there for making it so lovely 🤗

Great place, has more rustic charm than the new beefeater at Eureka. Usually only go when the reward club emails come through as the deals like 40% off are great value. The menu has a wide choice and all pretty tasty.

This place is marvelous. The food is great 👍 Friendly staff and cozy ambiance. Our breakfast is tie up with Premiere Inn but definitely will be back again.

Served us with a lovely smile and great sense of humour.

Bright and bubbly Shiela serving is as good a start as the unlimited breakfast. With the youngest eating free was reasonably priced too. Been several times here and rarely disappointed.

Sheila made (all 7 of us) really welcome and took all the orders for breakfast from us, all different, but faultlessly delivered. We've been to other Beefeaters and this was the best breakfast I've had. Everything was cooked just as I like...bacon and hash browns nicely crispy and scrambled eggs soft and delicious! Thank you Sheila, and the chef, for such a positive experience!

Such a lovely place! We came here for a wake, they had a buffet and it was really good food. The service was great

A last meet up before Christmas overtook us, had a great time very relaxed and the food was good, the turkey was delicious and plenty of it.

It was packed at 3pm on a Sunday. Service to take drink and food orders was fast. Took longer to serve food but, as I said, it was busy. Food was excellent.

Came here for dinner and breakfast the following day & the food was fresh & piping hot when it came out. Really nice place 😁

Excellent service from Amber who looked after us. She was a joy to deal with as well as being efficient and professional. Good food, overall a lovely evening.

First time there, and we all enjoyed our Sunday roast. Marked 4 stars for service as we seemed to wait a while for our roasts.

Popped in on way home from the zoo. Excellent service from Stacey and Jamie. Although it was extremely busy the staff were still polite and helpful. Didn't wait long for food. Have no complaints and would deciently visit again
