Underrated garden/park! Definitely take some time to stroll through or sit and chill for a few minutes! The flowers were pretty and lots of benches to sit in. Also had ping pong tables within the park but I guess you have to being your own paddle/ball unfortunately. Would have loved some equipment to play!

A well-manicured park, but not perfectly pristine. Some benches may be missing a slat, and there's a dusty environment. It's excellent for taking a stroll along the Thames and having a rest.

A well set out garden on the north bank of the Thames, close by parliament and the government buildings in Whitehall.
A place of peace and quiet.
But can be overtaken by demonstrations on certain days.

Came here after taking a short walk from St James’s Park for more tulips 🌷 The park is small but beautifully decorated with tulips forming many circles around statues etc. Looks perfect when photos taken at the front / end of the park

Weary tourists will find this a peaceful sanctuary to rest and contemplate nature after a long day of touring the City.

Whitehall Gardens is located at the sweet spot between Victoria Embankment and the Whitehall Building. There are benches in shade and the colourful garden are a pretty sight.

Very nice gardens with a castle yard feeling. Not too big and not really to stay, but a comfortable alternative to the street

This place is a sanctuary. The trees and flowers remind me of a tropical paradise. Beautifully kept gardens, an array of interesting plants and grasses. A lot of thought had gone into the planning and preparation of the gardens.

It is a beautifully designed area.
You can sit, relax, enjoy your coffee and cake.
You can look at and learn from the different states. Some have writing that briefly explains the reason for the status.

On this particular day, 28th October 2023, there was significant march for ceasefire in Gaza. I saw thousands and thousands of people march past the gardens. It almost feels historic.

The gardens are within walking distance from Trafalgar Square towards the River Thames (via Northumberland Ave) or the Hungerford or Jubilee Bridges that cross the River Thames. It is just one of the gardens that form the Victoria Embankment Gardens created from 1864 following the embankment of the Thames by Sir Joseph Bazalgette.

The garden laid out in 1875 by George Vulliamy has a wonderful array of shrubbery, bedding displays, mature London plane trees, lime trees and trees of heaven. Three statues stand within grassed islands commemorate William Tyndale (1494-1536), Sir Henry Bartle Frere (1815-1885) and General Sir James Outram (1803-63). Whitehall Gardens offers a hidden oasis enclosed within elaborate railings, reproductions of Bazalgette’s design of 1873. It is also a designated Site of Importance for Natural Conservation for its contribution to wildlife.

Really beautiful and well maintained gardens. The statues, planted flower beds, lawns, shrubs and mature trees combined with a backdrop of historical buildings make this a very pleasant and impressive location whether visiting as a tourist or relaxing during a lunch break.

This is not a big park, but is precisely why is so beautiful. Well looked after, nice, clean and tidy, this is a very good spot for relaxing. There is a playground for children at the entrance, a cafe in the middle and there are toilets with entry fee outside of the park. ❤

A great, peaceful spot on the Victoria Embankment and behind the building of Whitehall Palace.

Green space with nice flower gardens.
There are clear paths through the gardens and plenty of benches to sit on.
People use the green space for relaxing, getting away from work pressures and to picnic with family/friends.
Must visit of you're in the area.

A “flowery garden” I will call it 🥰!!! Here is cool and wonderful garden to relax, cool down and relieve the stress!!
Multiple entries makes here such a nice place to be without crowding up at any of the entry gates. Just across it are the Charing Cross Station, the Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges.
What to expect and experience here: nice cool shades, comfortable benches to sit, exotic views of the nature - the beautiful flowers 🌺, towering statures, table tennis 🏓. And fully kids friendly!
Accessibility: wonderfully accessible for wheelchair ♿.
I recommend this sweet Gardens.

A tranquil and beautiful park filled with trees and blossoming flowers, numerous benches and 3 statues.

Nice to relax away from the busy bustling life.

Beautiful garden, fresh air and very clean. Lovely flowers and well cared, saw gardeners working even today. My toddler realy enjoyed. Very nice experience, i come towards London eye and took the elevator come out to the bridge and walked towards the other side, were the garden was. When you step into that garden is like you escaping from Covid world, living you carried in this story garden.

Beautiful garden! There are two tables to play tennis and lots of benches. Nearby is Starbucks, Subway and small convinient shop where you can buy drinks in case you want to spend more time there. Last time I saw caravans selling ice cream too.
