Food was amazing and service attentive and easy going , it was a perfect dinner.
Really recommended the 5 course menu! Food looks so good we felt bed to eat it .
If I have to be critic the only thing I could say is that tables are to close one to another in the wall area, still worth it though

Authentic Japanese food at its finest. Located on the first floor above the Japan House store, Akira serves traditional Japanese with excellent service and beautiful food.

We chose two bento boxes and one chicken don.

The bento boxes are beautiful and great for vegetarians. The amall dishes were very tasty and beautifully presented. Three chicken Don (bowl) was filling and delicious.

We were lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday lunchtime but we'll know to book ahead next time.

Visited Akira after seeing it in the Michelin guide and wasn't disappointed. The food is top-notch, especially the sushi set – a must-try! Also, don't miss out on the matcha crepe cake. They've got a great wine and sake selection, and their cocktails are on point. Highly recommend!

The food at Akira is delicious. The food is fresh, authentic, and presented in an assortment of dishes. The customer service is also exceptional, the vibe was very cozy yet refined. I asked for something special for our anniversary and they delivered. I was very grateful for the extra mile the staff at Akira went to make our night better.

Akira managed to surprise me with some of the best food i ever had.

I only tried one piece of sushi, with the octopus, but in my first bite I could tell that they are doing great things. The rice was simply on another level than anything else I tried before.

Their wagyu Ramen was very tasty and rich with balancing flavors.

And their charcoal grill items are delicious and very well presented.

The staff was very polite and the kitchen chefs were very tidy and professional. Huge respect for the kitchen.

After the first dishes, I had to look at flight tickets to get back to enjoy a full experience and I am looking forward for that. Will definitely go for a five course next time

Delicious food, fresh and tasty. Also the staff was very attentive and polite. I was very surprised at how nice the place was. Hidden in kensington, just by the whole foods. I had the 60£ Sushi Omakase 3 course menu, and it was a lot plus the dessert !Couldn't recommend enough!!!

Excellent taster menu and selection of wines and sake, lots of seating for larger groups and the staff were brilliantly attentive.

Japanese toilets are cool too.

omakase was delicious, i was well and truly stuffed by the end of it.

akira is a nice quite location serving a great selection of sashimi, which were all super fresh

the matcha cake at the end was also super yummy

A most lovely experience having top Japanese food. The menu was exquisite. Service was slow and a bit problematic to get the drinks flowing. But other than that it was a wonderful dinner.

Wow! Went here with high expectations and they were matched. Everything that was served to us was beautifully presented and tasted equally good. The 3 course set menu was the way to go. From grilled meats served on a hot stone to a 15 section box with various fish, sauces and veggies, it was incredible from start to finish. Wonderful spot with an open kitchen, which made it fun to watch.

Lovely food and price.
Decoration lovely and menú amazing. The only is the service didn’t feel comfortable with the managers didn’t feel they were good recommending the plates.
I’m afraid I’ll not return.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have a reservation but they managed to seat us by the bar.
Quality food. The wagyu beef is so fresh, tender and juicy. The best wagyu I have had before. Sushi dishes and desserts are very good too. Love their macha cake crepe cake. Dare I say, the sake is premium. :) the authentic Japanese tableware completed the whole different experience.

We stumbled on this restaurant by accident and so glad we did.

Such a lovely surprise lunch here.

It can seem expensive from looking at the menu if you are looking for a standard lunch place.

The food makes the price well worth it and the service is exceptional.

The food here is AMaZING. You can taste the care and passion in every single piece you put in your mouth. Sushi quality was majestic and every cut of meat was a party in my mouth.

Had the 5 course Omakase and wouldn’t have changed a thing. Very authentic in taste with beautiful display of food. This place needs a Michelin Star!

Akira is excellent and, contrary to what others might say below, excellent value for the quality. We had the Robuta 3 course menu and it was more than enough food. The salad amuse bouche was well executed, the bento delightful and the meat course was grilled to perfection. For 60 quid it was a lot of bang for your buck, and the setting and service are great. Desserts were also sublime, I’d opt for crepe cake over the fondant. And you can bag a bento for 20 quid for lunch on Tues-Thurs… Done deal.

A nice welcome as we walked in and we were sat down with menus to choose. Some of us had a la carte and others went for the omakase. Everything we had from the robata grill was amazing. The sashimi that came with the omakase was also standout. While the 5 course omakase was expensive, we generally thought it was excellent value for money.
The sake was delicious, but at £16 a glass it felt pricey for what it was.
Generally it was a really good place for a celebration meal.

Lovely dining experience! Actually my second visit as I had to show more friends! I got the 5 course set meal the first time, but had to try the wagyu beef special … extremely happy with both very delicious. The cocktails were great very refreshing and unique. Price is a little steep but worthwhile👏🏾👌🏾. Currently 20% off if you book between 18:00 and 18:30 until late august i believe!!

Oh let’s not forget the wonderful exhibition below, a lovely experience if you end up a little early 😌.

I been here for afternoon tea experience as a birthday present and it has been such an unforgettable memory.

We had a mixture of creative sushi and sweets minimal the Japanese way ...

They have a great choice of special non green tea like the Hinoki a wooden one amazing!

Great selection and simple menu of sushi, skewer and hot stone dishes. Highly recommend the cod on the hot stone, chicken karage (very big portion, some with big bones)
Don’t recommend the chicken skewer with plum source, tasting a bit funky… overall nigiri and maki and fantastic and would recommend

This restaurant is absolutely another level. From the creative food to Japanese restaurant service including frozen glasses for beer. The building itself is full of Japanese culture. Toto toilet is also a surprise! It’s not just a place to see or to eat it’s a fabulous trip to Japan! An unforgettable trip!
