Recently had a series of jabs and asked to see my doctor. The staff were very helpful and fixed an appointment. As always, Dr Raby was friendly, attentive and helpful. I read a lot about people having to wait ages but the service here is excellent. The surgery has a really good feel about it with everyone pulling together to provide a great service to their clients.

I have been with this practice for over 20 years. I have always found them to be reponsive, knowledgeable and efficient. This includes the reception staff, the nurses and the doctors. I have never experienced any rudeness from the reception staff but have witnessed some very demanding patients.

When I moved to South Ken, I asked friends and neighbors if they knew a good GP. Many recommended The Abingdon Medical Practice and they were absolutely right. It's one of the best surgeries I've been to in London (and given many moves over many years I have seen a few).

All the staff are very courteous and pay great attention to patients' needs. I am particularly grateful to Dr. Sri and Dr. Sahib and Teanna at the reception who is always warm and welcoming. I am only sorry I do not recall all the names of the lovely people who work there. Even during the stressful period of the recent crisis where the medical staff were being inundated with requests and needs, they have been very professional and always there to help.

Thank you all at The Abingdon Medical Practice :-)

Incredible surgery doing their best in hard times. The consistency of staff is something I have not seen anywhere else with the same doctors there to treat you for years, developing thoughtful relationships. I hope everyone gets this level of care.

I have been attending this GP since I was little and I am in my thirties now. The reception staff are kind and accommodating and the doctors are extremely helpful, informative and professional. I feel really lucky to have it as my GP surgery.

The entire team at Abingdon Medical Practice are outstanding. The care is second to none! Remember health care isn't just a one way conversation... Patients and doctors need to work together and this is exactly what this practice does. From the doctors to the receptionistss to the nurses they always go the extra mile - they listen, they respond and most importantly, they care. Well Done Team

I saw Dr Sahib at very short notice. Having worked with GP’s for over a decade, i couldn’t fault his expertise and professionalism. It was refreshing to see a GP like Dr Sahib!

I have been a patient of the Abingdon Medical Practice for nigh on ten years now and I feel I can confidently recommend them - doctors, nurses and all their staff - to anyone looking for a really caring and efficient GP surgery. I am in my sixties and so, as I am sure you can imagine, I have had my fair share of reasons to be in and out of the surgery. Highly recommended.

I recently reached out for assistance with pain issues following a procedure and was hoping for a swift and empathetic response. Unfortunately, the nurse team's manner was far from caring. Their dismissive tone was not only unprofessional but also left me feeling completely unheard. This is not the standard of care patients expect from our NHS. It's crucial that this feedback is taken on board to prevent similar experiences for others.

I have been with this practice for ten years ( my old practice on Kensington place was superb but sadly closed down ) …I find it difficult to be positive about it …the wait times are appalling and yet they are permanently advertising for new patients when you have on average approx 2 weeks to wait for a doctor … I wouldn’t recommend this clinic at all … I have many examples of very poor service … and considering I have a terminal cancer diagnosis very little empathy is shown whatsoever

Unfortunately if you look at all these bad reviews there is one common denominator - reception staff.
I know it is a running joke that GP reception staff are interesting characters, but honestly. Every bad review echoes the same sentiment. My father just called for a prescription as he has suddenly travel for a funeral tomorrow, and was told by the receptionist to 'plan better' and don't be rude when he asked if he could get it today from any of the doctors. Its laughable, at the end of the day this is a customer service role, and they get paid for this it is not voluntary charity work.

I have had my fair share of bad experiences (which the manager apologised for, but I see there's been no improvement), I actually get really anxious even calling their number these days as I know its 90% likely to ruin my day. You never know what abuse you're going to get. Shame because the GPs and nurses are all great, but you must pass the abhorrent dragons to get access to them.

Dr. Chua please sort the reception! Rude staff with stinky attitude! I will be reporting the surgery, the surgery gets money from government so you don’t treat people for free. The reception staff gets paid salary for working at the surgery so they should provide a customer service not being rude to patients. I will take the recent encounter with your reception staff further. Ms Tiana should learn some manners and basic etiquette.

Terrible service. I have called multiple times to try to get my COVID vaccine booked, first "they only book for Astra Zeneca", secondly they could not help me because of "the system", third they just refused to help me and give assistance and directed me to the NHS, which is such a system-based service without any personal connection to the patient that needs to be served in view of clinical profile (I urgently need to be vaccinated as I have an upcoming surgery in the month of August). So many people I know and that are registered to other GP got their appointments scheduled very quickly and smoothly. I find this clinic absolutely unprofessional and I am actively looking to change my GP, as well as recommending NOT TO CHOOSE this clinic as your GP.

I have been going to this surgery for 20 years. It has become extremely dysfunctional with poorly qualified doctors and aggressive reception staff. Dr Kilduff and Dr Raby are utterly arrogant refusing to accept new patients despite having availability and pushing the work down to the unqualified junior doctors who are constantly changing. In one of my face to face appointments, the junior GP unashamedly GOOGLED my symptoms to give me a diagnosis while the above mentioned doctors have the audacity to refuse new patients despite being with the surgery for 20 years and despite having availability. They should be STRIPPED of their medical licence to operate. They do NOT have a proper complaints procedure either. When you send an email to the surgery, they refuse to listen and brush it under the carpet rather than deal with shortcomings. Truly a shame on the medical
profession.
The name has been changed to avoid vindictive behaviour from them that I won’t put past them.

Let me tell you about my experience two days in a row in this practise. Yesterday I went yesterday to register as it is close to where I live .I have moved to London not so long ago and hadn’t had time to register with new GP yet. Unfortunate things happened and I ended up in urgent care centre one night where I have been advised to get a gp ASAP to be able to get an appointment with a specialist as the doctor I have seen from could not do that. So I went the day after to this practise where a lady on the reception gave me the paperwork but as I was there in late afternoon the cut off point for new patients has passed and I’ve been asked to come the next day (I have explained her what situation I am in). She asked me for my adress and postcode to check if I can register in this office. Yeap all good. The next day I come in and I am standing by a desk of 2 receptionist 1 of which was busy. So I stand there and wait till the other one sees me - NOTHING- she has not lift her precious head to see if anyone is there although she must have known as I was right by the counter. When the other recepionist finished with her customer i went over and talked to her. Got my paperwork ready and said I am here to sign up for a gp. After giving her my details she said I am not under their coverage and that I need to find a practice closer to my home. Well thank you very much. In my situation and it is really urgent I am being messed around like this and I am not pleased at all. Please first of all teach your personal the bare basics they need to know as they are far behind plus they needs some manners teaching as well. Now because it’s weekend I have to wait at least two days to go and get signed to another practise. Thank you very much and for other people I’d say - AVOID
