This is an excellent nursery. The environment for children at Comet is first class, lots of space, greenery and interesting apparatus for the children to play on. What really stands Comet apart however is the quality of it's staff. They always have the interests of the children at the top of their agenda and my son blossomed after joining there from another private nursery. I felt happy every day dropping my son at Comet.

My experience of Comet Nursery School (from both my children attending) has been second to none. Children are nurtured during this important early years stage, and offered a wide variety of fun and inspiring activities which prepare them well for school. The needs of each individual child are carefully considered. Both the large outdoor area and the inside spaces are wonderful, full of fun and engaging ways to play. All the staff are completely committed to making this nursery school the outstanding community asset that it is; very well run, inspirational and supportive to parents. I feel very fortunate that my children have benefited so greatly from their time at Comet.

It is very rare to find a nursery in London with enough playing and learning space . And facilities for children with different needs. Comet provides that.

My children went to Comet and they enjoyed been in both the school and the children centre.

Comet gives children the opportunity to learn through play and this enables children to develop and learn but still enjoy been a children. The garden section is impressive. I was amazed how much my daughter learnt from the garden sessions and the forest school .

The environment helped develop and brought out my childrens creative nature through art and music. This later helped with their fine motor skills and they are now thriving in primary.

Comet prepares children for primary and builds life skills, as the children are taught by staff discussing ideas and any problems with them.

The staff are very empathetic and management team have a passion for child development and are very hands on.

This nursery environment gives opportunities for children to enjoy learning. I found Comet to be very empathetic and support. The team always reassured me and supported my children.

As a mother it is very difficult to detach from our children . However , I want to say thank you to all the staff and the management in the nursery and children centre as I could go to work with reassurance that my children were in capable hands.

In my experience: an extraordinary centre, doing extraordinary things. Our local community is a true social mix , which brings many challenges, and Comet supports every child and its family with great skill. My daughter benefited enormously from the award-winning Pupil Premium care, and we will treasure her special book, painstakingly made by the teachers for every child, for ever. The headteacher is firm, but always fair; the office is run with organisational brilliance, and the teaching and support team work wonders. I would recommend Comet without hesitation.

Comet Nursery School and Children’s centre has provided my daughter with outstanding early education which focuses on play and independence; in a nurturing and friendly environment.

Comet offers the children of Hackney/Islington much needed outdoor space (which is hard to find in nursery settings). This outdoor space is wonderfully enriched with books, climbing equipment, trees and mud kitchen. It is home to many activities and play resources which the staff take care in planning and setting up for the children to explore.

The inside is of equal merit. With 3 rooms for the children to access. My daughter was fan of the studio with it’s creative play and water! The environment is clean and clear and not over stimulating.

The children’s progress is kept in their special books which can be taken home. The children are very much involved in keeping their book. They have great ownership and develop a real sense of achievement.

I would like to note that the children’s centre also provides a wealth of different activities in a welcoming environment. You can access support and advise here and it’s lovely to have such a friendly place to come and do that. My youngest loves the messy play!

This is all managed by an approachable and dedicated head teacher who is supported by a hard working and knowledgable team.

The children are truly at the centre of Comets work.

Thank you so so much.

Both nursery and children's center are completely great. Truly outstanding as it is declared by OFSTED. The friendly atmosphere, help with answering the current questions of kid's development and a positive attitude are the main points that I can mentioned.
In my personal experience, I see that Comet Nursery and Children's Center is a place with a good level of attention to every child, including language support. I am appreciated them for different thematic weeks and big effort to educate kids in high standards and good behaviour. Highly recommend!

For almost five years I have had the pleasure of facilitating workshops at Comet Children's Centre. The staff are professional, kind, caring and supportive to the children, parents, myself and amongst themselves. The team are genuine and hard-working and I always enjoy and look forward to working at Comet.

I have had two children attend Comet with the most recent leaving this summer. As is normal, both children were wildly different in their outlooks and interests, yet both felt at home and engaged at Comet. Above and beyond the confident care of the children, as a parent I felt supported and knew I had help if I needed it when I had questions and concerns about being a parent and my children. In my experience Comet supported and engaged not just my children, but the whole family.

This place was amazing for its camaraderie and social skills and enjoyment at this part of their life. Her smiles and friends and teacher contributions was very memorable.

If you or your child suffer from mental health issues, if your looking for a multi-cultural environment, or you need a nursery that will by understanding and empathetic as you may be leaving your child for the first time DO NOT CHOOSE Comet. The older receptionist is innapropriatly harsh and the head teacher is very protective of her staff regardless of the issue at hand.
However the childrens centre/stay and play staff are amazing and friendly.

There are far too many children yet an insufficient amount of staff to adequately manage the children. The reception staff and head teacher are rude, condensing and lack ability to deal with issues with any tact or diplomacy. I will never forget an incident whereby the head teacher aggressively snatched an apple from my child's hand. I asked her why she was so harsh. She coldly stated it was for the children who's parents contribute to the fruit basket. The is only an example of the type of treatment parents and children are subjected to. So many other parents have complained about being spoken to rudely by staff but nothing changes. I can only advise that you avoid this nursery at all costs.
