Last weekend 3 March 2024, trees were in cherry blossom so it made for some nice photos! It's a nice relaxing area and we made some more happy memories. Photo is of my Hearing Dog. It's so nice to have this green space in this area so densely packed with high rise offices. We always enjoy walking through here.

Beautiful place to sit and chat or have lunch. It’s located near to many IT companies and banks. Always crowded as the place is lovely and calm. Often see kids practising their skating here.
During march end and April the place is pink with all the cherry blossoms present. So lovely to look at. 😍

Lovely open public space with a nicely sized indoor eating area and plenty of outdoor space for the public. Fun water feature, which is usually active daily at certain times. Great for a quick bite to eat, social meetup or a bit of peace.

Aldgate Square provides a pretty patch of green in the middle of the city.

There’s a patch of grass, water fountains and many benches to sit on.

Although the square isn’t all that big, it’s a small break away from its concrete surrounds and makes for a great lunch spot or a peaceful spot to sit.

🐌 Until May 2023, Aldgate Square is also home to a work of art by Jocelyn McGregor called “Earthlings.”

Located between the square and St Botolph's church, the snail sculptures each feature a shell and human limb instead of their usual slimy body.

The snails cause you to slow down as you pass and it’s encouraged to perch beside one so it’s okay to let children explore them. After May 2023, a piece by Emii Alrai will replace the snails.

Nearby, there’s also a variety of coffee shops and Aldgate underground station. 🚆

An old and new mixed neighborhood with a 12th century church continuosly serving the community. St. Botolph's is a marvelous site to visit.

Y'all should see it during spring. Lovely couples under blossom trees lunching by the background sound of water sparkling on the ground

Quite the transformation, turning what was a busy road into an attractive space. The lawn is well used in summer, at lunchtime. The trees and planting were well thought through, and give an attractive back drop to a well used space. The City of London Corporation activates the space frequently, to add to the appeal.

Lovely square for toddlers and slightly older children to play in the fountains. The fountains go through a cycle of different patterns which makes for sun surprises. Plenty of grass and walls to sit on. Cafe/bar which we didn’t try but looked lovely and pleasant.

I sat here in the early morning eating some nice sandwiches before I had an exam. I think one was chicken and avocado salad on white bread, and another was smoked salmon on brown bread. There were lots of pigeons milling about in a similar fashion, having their breakfast on the grass before they went to work.

The transformation of this zone from a dreary, toxic traffic-fume irrelevance bereft of atmosphere to a landscaped pedestrian ‘destination’ certainly warrants praise.
St. Botolph precinct, historic John Cass School and surrounds revel on this new spacious green square with a cafe and water feature.
Massive improvement indeed.👏🏼

Working in the City is quite stressful enough for many every day, and green open public spaces could be the key to unwind and relax during. I really like this small patch of green. During the "dryish" seasson, houndreds come to share the benches and grass while having a quick bite. This square is a fantastic little place to get away from our busy day in the City and get some needed sunlight, some sort of "nature" and community feeling.

This was such a quaint little place within London. It's located near the banking district, and when I went, there are benches to sit and watch everything around you. The cherry blossoms were blooming, and you saw families, children playing, teenagers riding skateboards, and photographers making videos or shooting portraits. I'm at some lovely people here, and everybody is super friendly. It's just a delightful place to go.
