Café Reichard

Visitied during the christmas market, their hot chocolate is the best so good and the apple strudel is very good aswell.
Very nice atmosphere but the carpets needs to be cleaned better.
They are very organised about seating and have a server for every few people.
Staff can smile a bit more but i recommened.

Yummy hot chocolate. You just sit down anywhere and the waitress comes to you. Food was quite expensive but it’s centre cologne. It’s expected. Took a while to get food but they were busy. Would definitely come back for the hot chocolate.

An extremely charming cafe and restaurant located in a perfect viewing location across the cathedral! The service is definitely slow and they may forget an order but everything we ate was wonderful- highly recommend the beef liver with roasted apples and mashed potatoes, the roasted duck salad, and the poppyseed cheesecake. Prices are expensive but given the atmosphere and location, it makes sense. The interior is gorgeous with many seating options from indoor, outdoor, or within a covered glass window viewing area. Bathrooms are downstairs and cost 50 cents.

Super, very clean, food is perfect, service is very high level, toilet is from another dimension.

Wowwww super recommend, it looks like those decadent old places for fancy tea and cakes, where you come to meet a friend, even the waitresses were dressing old style uniforms and they were very cordial and sweet, they seemed they enjoyed their work environment even being the end of a busy Saturday day. We had delicious pies of different fruits, many varieties available even that they were the last ones of the day and we had great cappuccinos as well. Super recommend! Although might be a bit pricey...

A short walk right across from the cathedral, don’t be fooled by the line, it goes pretty quick. The food is good and reasonably priced given the proximity to everything. The bathrooms are super nice just remember to bring .50€ to tip the bathroom lady. Only other bummer is people smoking at the tables but hey it is Europe. The waiters are friendly but they won’t come to your table all the time to check on you- so if you need something like mayo for your potatoes and schnitzel, make sure to flag them down early. Finally, the dessert selection is off the charts. All the cakes look amazing. I had the black forest cake and it was delicious.

Definitely more expensive than your average coffee shop but worth the price for special occasions.

A lovely experience, as it should be. If you stay in a table with the cathedral view or not, it really does not matter at the end… The service was above my expectations, the waitresses are reaaaaaally polite and they see your needs. The food was warm and delicious. Please do not expect for a real Italian capuccino, you are in Germany 😅, however it was ok. The bathroom super clean. What I can say? A place to come back!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Cafe Reichard, nestled next to the cathedral. The strawberry cake was an absolute delight, bursting with delicious flavors. The cafe exudes a charming, well-maintained old-world atmosphere that adds to its unique appeal.

A long standing Cafe that has the most fantastic cakes and pastries (amongst other things we didn't try). The tea was great, though by default you get 10% fat milk for coffee, so ask for normal milk or drink it black. The weather was kind so we ate outside with the cathedral as a back drop. Would like to go back at a weekend sometime and try their breakfast buffet.

Special environment for a tea cup and a nice desert !

Food was absolutely delicious. The Norwegian Salmon was the best meal I had in Europe. Great prices for the location and quality!! Would have paid twice as much in the US.

Very nice place inside and out to have traditional dishes with a cathedral view. Food and service was spot on.

Very good place to eat desserts in Cologne. It’s in front of the Kölner Dom and the portions are big. We asked for different cakes but the apfelstrudel was the BEST! Schwarzwald also was a good option, it’s very typical german. It’s a fancy place with good service. I would go back definitely.

We went there last week and their hot chocolate is perfect! All the cakes are rightly done, it's a perfect place to go after visiting koln church and market... Though you might have to wait a bit in queue for entry, it is worth it!

When visiting Koln Cathedral, i was so hungry and see this store, so i came in and try one slice mixed berry cheese cake,

I was disappointed later, because why i bought only one slice 😭 the sweetness is just perfect, the combination of cheese and mixed berry is perfect

There was toilet in the basement area, and it was the best toilet i’ve ever been visit, it was luxurious

One of the oldest cafes of Cologne. It has nostalgic vibe. Cheesecakes are really delicious. If you are vegan maybe this information can be helpful. They said they do not offer vegan desserts but only vegeterian ones.
