GALERIA Kaufhof

On a brief stopover during a river cruise in Koln [Cologne], we were determined to find some Merci chocolates. With a lifetime of experience in Germany, we headed for Kaufhof where we found a huge selection of chocs. Bought the largest box possible + a couple of smaller [more sensible boxes] & enjoyed a coffee & cake in the cafe. Miss living in Germany. Kaufhof was always top of the list for most things & has to be up there with the better dept stores. Not haute couture [like us!], but quality nevertheless.

Complete department store. Clothes, cosmetics, glasses and home utensils.

We love the food in the Galeria resto.. this is our 3rd visit during the stay in the city.

Got a Mont Blanc pen for £290 😀 normally over £500 at home.

There are a lot of goods to buy and found special bag which I need.

Very popular gallery. Awesome place to take a break. The underground supermarket is marvelous

I liked this big shopping center. A lots of brands, a lots of articles, there is everything what a heart desires.

Nice to buy for cloth, make up and toy

One of the good shopping mall in Dusseldorf. Prices are a bit below similar malls.
Good location.

I only visited the grocery department in the basement to buy some specialty Swiss and French cheeses. The cheese and wine departments are very well stocked, and the store associates are quite helpful.
Now (May 2023), their available merchandise seems to be less than in previous years. Items one used to be able to buy there are no longer available. I visited the restaurant, but it's actually a self-service food station, though the food choices were pretty good and decently priced.

Our favorite place to shop esp a gourmet food.

Large department store 4+ floors of shopping. Right off a major pedestrian shopping district

This is a large departments store and also has a great restaurant. We went for the restaurant to have some lunch there as it's always great quality and of course has a good price.
So if you don't want to take chances with food, go there and have lunch or dinner, get some cake and coffee and go from there.
The only thing you should know, as in all German restaurants, they don't have free refills, this is just an American thing and not a German thing.

Good place to buy just about anything.

Basement has a super market and household goods store. The supermarket stocks lots of otherwise hard to get products and ingredients.

The household goods section has everything ranging from affordable stuff to high end devices.

Lots of clothes on floor 1-2. Floor 3 has a great selection of sports wear and toys.

Keep an eye out for seasonal sales. You can get good deals then.

Nice department store, you can find several articles for home, and clothing of several well known brands, i like that there are seats to rest after going around.

It's a big department store, even has it's own gourmet section and a restaurant. Has it's own parking (pay) but you get a discount if you buy at the store (be sure to check the ticket at the cashier). I usually get my back-home gifts hete, prices are good and quality better, going from sale prices up to boutique ones.

Like always, nice people and very good council. 8 would miss it if they would shut down

In the lower section is a very good place to buy gifts and get them packaged for free. There is a very nice assortment of alcohol, chocolates, biscuits and present baskets. In the other section is almost everything else, dishes, technique stuff, decoration, jewelery, parfumery, clothes, etc.
