Blau Varadero

Travelled here with my 20 year old daughter and had the most amazing time. I can’t provide enough praise for how amazing the staff are. Loved our greater than daily visits to the coffee shop. There is always food that you will find you love, the beach is beautiful, loved the activities in the pool and beach, archery and rifle shooting and the atmosphere. Want to remind people to always bring gifts to give to the staff that they can’t access in Cuba. Coins are of no value to them and if using American money is the best for them. it cannot have any tears or be taped as it is of no value to the Cuban people and the banks wont accept it from them. I cannot remember all the activities staff names but the hotel should know they were all amazing along with all the servers and others that work here. Not 1 bad experience

I had an excellent time at Blau Varadero. Check in was efficient and easy. Was pleasantly surprised that the safe was included in room (no extra costs). The room was clean and the housekeepers did an amazing job. The food was good, plenty of options and the wait staff and bartenders work very hard. Blended mojitos and blended daiquiri are phenomenal at the lobby bar. Big shout out to Miguel, Isaac, Juan, Oscar, Tony and the whole animation team. They are entertaining to watch and always encouraging people to get involved. I really enjoyed my time and would definitely like to return in the future.

I had the pleasure of staying at Blau Varadero back in January.

The resort was beautiful! The food was very good, there were multiple bars around the resort.

The beach was super close and had tons of chairs available! The staff were super friendly and helpful with any questions I had.

Being that I went solo for the first time internationally I was a bit nervous but the staff at Blau Varadero really made my trip enjoyable. I felt very safe on the resort during both day and night.

The resort is an ‘adults only’ resort so the vibe while chillaxed still has an upbeat, party atmosphere which was nice to see.

One thing I need to mention is the greenery. It was amazing! When you walk past the front desk into the main area you are met with a massive skylight and vines that come down from the top floors. There is also planters throughout the main area along with indoor garden areas near the lobby bar and more. My pictures definitely do not show the sheer amount of greenery in the resort. I was truly amazed when I first arrived and saw it for the first time.

Honestly I could write a 10 paragraph essay on the resort and I still would have more to say.

I will definitely be returning to Blau Varadero and recommend it for anyone looking into visiting Cuba.

Went here with my parents for a week trip. Fantastic stay. room was modern and matched the pictures, food was plenty and tasty, and the staff were great. Huge shoutout to Ernesto at the lobby cafe, must checkout if you stay here.

We just returned from a one week stay at Blau Varadero - Feb 2024. We had a truly wonderful time. The service is fabulous, the hotel is stunning, and the atmosphere is festive but not over the top. Knowing the extreme limitations the dining staff face regarding food availability in Cuba, each meal was a success. Of our party of 2, one of us does not each fish or pork, and even though that is the default protein in Cuba, the culinary team at Blau usually had other meat based proteins available each day including very tender lamb, chicken and even some beef! All meats were well cooked and presented. The fish and pork also was well prepared each meal. Also very plentiful each meal was fresh veggies and fruit (guava, papaya and pineapple). Each meal had plentiful variety of wonderful fresh bread, rolls and croissants. So good! The constant each night was the freshly prepared pasta bar. Excellent and also had a spicy variety most nights. Attentive serving staff made sure our drinks were fresh. This is Cuba, so no ketchup or hot sauces, so bring your own if you need it. Enough cannot be said about the success of the dining crew.

The beach is perfect. That is the only way to describe it. 3 of the 7 days we were there the red flags were flying (so no swimming) due to tidal and weather patterns yet the beach was a wonderful place to walk, wander and relax. The one day we had where the beach was flagged green, the boats were out, the music was playing and the snorkeling was great. We are not swimming pool people, so we did not use it but is seemed to be well maintained and very large.

Rooms are basic but well appointed and cleaned each day. No noise transfer between rooms, but the outside entertainment is heard in room but usually ended by10 pm. Bed is comfortable!!
The only issue for some might be the elevator. There are 14 levels to the hotel, and the elevators are SLOW. We were on the 8th floor and well able to climb stairs, but if you are not, then prepared to have to use your patience. The elevator will come ... eventually!

The shortages in Cuba are heartbreaking and the people of this country are facing immense challenges. Please, should you choose to book at this resort, pack gifts for the staff. They NEED soaps, shampoo, toothpaste and tooth brushes, children's medication, and clothing of all sizes. They are so appreciative of anything you can gift them. We will most definitely return to this beautiful county, and if you are considering Blau, you will not be disappointed.

Being a diabetic I was concerned about the food but...
Breakfast: omelet, ripe tomatoes, green peppers, delicious ripe pineapple .
Lunch: fresh grilled chicken, pork or fish.
Fresh vegetables. Luv luv tomatoes 🍅
Supper: same
There is also a burger joint by the pool if you wish.
And of course Cuba has mastered the carbs. Beautiful buns, breads and pasta

This is my second trip to this wonderful resort.

The staff are amazing. Treat you like you're an old friend.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

I will definitely be back again next year.

An amazing hotel with a spectacular service and friendly staff. Initially, we were planning to visit Varadero and Havana but hotel has ample amount of activities that we didn’t leave hotel for once. We had 7 day stay at hotel and we absolutely loved the hospitality.
We are vegetarians and the hotel was very accommodating to our dietary needs.
We will visit again for sure!

The hotel is perfect Animacion is super fun with games all day long. Good shows Retro band for dancing’.Disco at the beach bar. Good restaurants and bars. The beach is the most beautiful of Varadero .we like Mayra and all the entertainment

Went for a girls trip at the end of January and we had a blast! The hotel was beautiful and clean, the staff was amazing, the beaches were unmatched! We chose Blau based on the wonderful reviews and we were not disappointed.

Resort was as expected, food was edible and there was something to make yourself full but not great. Only liquor was rum, beer, wine. Not so much an atmosphere for young people. Don’t trust all the five star ratings as the food and beverage manager comes around and ensures you select five stars for everything. Some of the staff we great others such as some of the beach staff were very forward and made me and my friends very uncomfortable and would not take no for an answer. They were also asking us to supply them liquor while they were working. Definitely not a place university aged girls. Also we had found a few cockroaches in our room to top it off!

This resort has been the best one by far 🙌 for us. Never was short on anything. Everything and everyone was 👍 one of the best beaches ⛱ ❤ 👌 we have been to in Cuba 🇨🇺 😀. We will definitely be returning to this resort 😀 😊 😄

This is my third time in 8 months in this hotel. I am just about to leave and hope to be back soon. A big shout out to all the staff. The food was good as well. It is much better than some people say here on the net

Yuli was a wonderful housekeeper. She was fabulous and attentive. The hotel is beautiful and the greenery is outstanding.
Choose the select option when you book, the perks are well worth the slight increase for the upgrade.

Perfect service, very friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are big and clean. The hotel is very big and has different swimming pools, three different restaurants, four different bars, tennis courts, archery and shooting area, giant chess, gym, spa, pharmacy, a medical centre, a spacious lobby area and another area for billiards, ping pong and similar games. They also have many different activities for every time of the day including daily evening and night programs. The beach is very clean and the water is crystal clear.

This is my second time in Cuba.
Given the circumstances of Cuba I came with low expectations and just wanted to enjoy the warm weather and beach. I came thinking I wasn’t going to be eating a lot, I brought snacks just in case, I honestly thought I was gonna lose 5 pounds on this trip.
My first day I walk in, and I’m amazed by the unique lobby of hanging plants- it was beautiful. they had water stations everywhere with mint or pineapple or other fruit infused water.. check in wasn’t until four, which was fine because we enjoyed the outdoor lunch buffet. We walked around the lobby, got to know the place and I was amazed by how clean everything was and how nice the staff was. Miguel was nice enough to give us a full resort tour.
The staff were very helpful. We met Rosa, who booked our tour to Havana with so much ease and last minute as well as the catamaran cruise.
The central bar had entertainers every night and the entertainers encouraged you to enjoy the salsa dancing, and my fiancé even learned how to dance salsa and bachata by the end of first day.
Every day, our house keeper left the room sparkling clean. Everything about the room was simple, humble, but most importantly clean and comfortable.
All the restaurants are very clean even cleaner than the resorts I’ve been to in Mexico.
I thought I wasn’t gonna enjoy the food- I was full every meal of the day. Their local food is the best- rice, beans, vegetables, the meats were so tender. The bread was warm, and the butter was very available. They’ve done well with what they had. I believe I gained 10 pounds after this trip.
I truly enjoyed this humble place the staff were friendly and insured we enjoyed our stay whether it was relaxing on the beach or dancing every night.
The service was very fast- ie bar service, coffee cafe..
We were blown away by how talented the people were- live bands, orchestra, multilingual, dancing, and more!

My first vacation ever with my parents was here and it was amazing. Everyone is super nice and friendly, ready to help you whenever you need it. Check in was super quick and easy, the food and food service was amazing. The waiters, servers and baristas were all so nice and welcoming. The Blau Animacion team was AMAZING. We played beach voleyball and the guys were superrrr nice and supportive, helped you enjoy the game and play for fun. The dance team during night time was amazing. Went for my birthday and they made every moment so special and nice. Adolfo and the dance team were wonderful and made me feel so good about dancing in front of everyone. The whole staff made this trip so so special with their kindness and love.

After several visits to Cuba, the Blau Varadero is a wonderful place to stay, the atmosphere is friendly and the food selection and quality is excellent. Our ocean view room was extraordinary and the beach was also beautiful and clean.

Fabulous hotel! We travelled as 3 couples and enjoyed everything! The food was good, the service amazing and he people were the most friendliest I have encountered! Book now!!!!
