Meliá Las Américas

I was at this resort over Christmas, and all of my expectations were exceeded! I have traveled to Cuba extensively over the years and have stayed at many different resorts. I understand the supply challenges that many resorts have to deal with, so I come to Cuba with realistic expectations. This property, with regards to accommodations, cleanliness, food and drink, and overall attention to detail, is one of the best that I have experienced. Add to that an incredible beach and great customer service. I highly recommend this Adults Only resort. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay a memorable one!

The food was exceptional. It was fresh and there was a lot to choose from. I was amazed how this hotel could have exceptional food and service during these times.

First here 22 years ago. Just as brilliant now as then. Golf course excellent. Thoughtful, helpful, kind staff in all departments. I wish everyone would tip generously in US dollars. These hard working people suffering from Peso inflation. We took gifts, colouring books, crayons, pens, artist paper, toothbrushes - consumables not on the island. Culture (musicians, performers, history), education, medical system at the root of Cuban history alive and well. Do go there and enjoy.

Great Hotel - Stayed from October 19-26, 2023
Customer Service is Excellent, we got upgraded to their Level Section and we had our private pool & private beach.
Food is excellent - we only had one bad experience for dinner at their Italian Restaurant.. we are 8 people and they had to sit us 6 & 2 - and took 2 hours to get served. But the rest of A La Carte Restaurants are excellent - make sure you make a reservation as soon as you arrive. Rooms are very clean — Most Cubans are very friendly and they appreciate our visit to their country. Great for Golfers - make sure you reserve in advance..I will give them a 4.5 ****

Stayed Dec 9-16th. Where do I even start ! This resort has it all. This resort is kid free 21 and up. The rooms are very clean. You have great views to choose from. The beach view golf course or pool view. The staff give you fresh bottled water every day after cleaning your room.The beach is right off the resort. They have all kinds of activities all day to keep you active. Beach volleyball dance lessons and aqua fit in the pool. They also have lots of cats and kittens right on the resort. They have a little house where you can feed them . So dont forget to pack some cat treats in your suite case for them. And some stray dogs 🐕 they need treats as well. They have little shops right on the resort to buy items for loved ones. The pools are amazing and relaxing. There are two packages to buy one is the sliver wrists, band and the green wrists band. The sliver is called the Level, where you have access to the swim up bar and the better booze. The green is the regular band but still has access to everything except the Level areas. If you love golf well, the course is right on the resort a 5 min walk to the most amazing pars and views of the ocean. One thing is that the cart is not included , which costs 40 each person or 90 for two. And American money only. That's the only downfall, but you can play all day if you choose. The food was amazing. You have pastas, fish, chicken, fresh bread , eggs, and more. Now let's talk about the beach! Wow! The sand is white and clean. There are a lot of seating and small tables with palm trees umbrellas. 🌴 The staff were so lovely and wonderful and treated you with respect. I have been two a few resorts, but this one is far the best 👌. They have entertainment every night 🌙 even beach parties right on the beach ⛱. Thank you to all the staff for making my experience a memorable one. Can't wait to go back next year in 2024.

Absolutely amazing!
This was our first trip to Cuba, and it won't be our last. Melia las americas was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the level bungalows with a beautiful garden view, but of course you could still see the ocean. The room was amazing, 2 floors, 2 balconies, one on each level. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. We had no shortages of anything. They had live entertainment which was great, the band was super.
We were there for one week from October 15 to the 22nd, 2023.
We did NOT want to leave, Melia las americas is just so relaxing and paying extra for the level is so worth it. Exclusive restaurants and even 2 pools just for level guests.
We had asked for extra Cafe pods for our room and never had any problem getting them. Again, the staff was amazing.
We stayed in bungalow #6125, it was right beside the level pool/bar. Super easy to get anywhere on the resort from our room. Definitely going to be asking for that same bungalow again, was a perfect spot for us.
This will be the only resort we will go to, yes it was that amazing!

We were in this hotel in Feb 2023. It was very pleasant experience. Our room was beautiful and clean, service was great, there was a lot of diverse and delicious food all the time. Pool areas are splendid, entertainment was also great. But overall, beach is outstanding!!!

First timers to Cuba and I’m so glad we booked this hotel. The staff are beautiful and so welcoming and helpful. The food was plentiful and restaurant experiences really great. Rooms were comfortable, shower lovely and room service was great. We had an issue with our air con and 2 guys turned up and it was fixed in 10 minutes. We were left a couple of bottles of water most days and a couple of beers or fizzy pop. It all depends on what they have available on the day, same as the food. The beach and sea was the most breathtaking I’ve ever experienced. Cannot fault the staff at all. They were excellent and so lovely. Special mentions to Elvis, Amex and Roberto, who kept the Cubartas coming! Also the ladies on the bar, next to the buffet restaurant, have forgotten their names but they filled our water bottles up every morning, they were a God send! Receptionists were lovely and welcoming and check in and out very swift.
We are already looking at booking again next year as we really did not want to leave! Do not come here expecting the same foods and drink as what you would get in a 5* in Turkey as you’ll be disappointed, but come with an open mind and you’ll have the best time. The staff at Melia work very hard to give you the best experience and please treat them with respect, unlike a few guests we witnessed do! Cuba is stunning, we done a few trips which were fantastic.
We made some lovely friends and we had some great laughs.

Luxurious and kind Melia Las Americas in Varadero ❣

This is my first visit to Cuba, and Melia Las America is a luxurious and lovely hotel. The golf course with the beach is perfect, not to mention the beautiful emerald beach. 🏖🏝 Also, I met an employee named TAIMI, and her kindness made me feel relieved throughout my stay, and my affinity for this hotel increased. Do you visit Varadero? I highly recommend Melia Las Americas. ❣❣

Stayed here from Oct 6-13. First time at an all inclusive resort. Stayed as “The Level” guests and the experience was fantastic. We were treated so well and I would definitely come back again :)

My family and I stayed here in early September. Overall, it was the absolute best experience. Several staff members made it much for memorable, so I will be naming them so the management knows how amazing they are!
Firstly, the hotel itself, architecture, beach location, and hotel activities (especially the young man who was the dancer and DJ and the beach acrobatics) were all great. The room service staff (specifically Olga, Teresa, and Leopoldo) were extremely attentive and helpful with the maintenance for the rooms.
The reception staff at the front desk were so nice and very effeicient at their jobs (Rachel, Yusi, y Ana R.). They made checking in very easy and answered any questions we had.
There was breakfast, lunch, and dinner included as a buffet that was open at specific times throughout the day, along with the mini bar outside the buffet room that was well equipped. The bartenders were quick to take orders and great at offering hospitality.
At this moment, I don't have all the names of everyone who served us, but the serving staff waiting tables (Cecilio, Fredy, Cardenas, Yuslay, Pedro, Godoy, Fernando, Lisandra and many many more) were so amazing with their attention, serving, clearing away plates, and language skills, despite having a large amount of people to serve. The employees behind the food stations, such as the young men in the pasta section and at the cheese and ham section were extremely good cooks and helpful in serving.
One last thing that stood out was the Italian Restaurant that we were able to reserve at 9pm (Il Limoncello I believe). The staff members Ariel, Francisco, Yudelys, Katy, Ronney, and Yomaika were very well trained and amazing in every way. They were great servers and explained all the menu items carefully so that we as vegetarians could still enjoy the dishes offered. The food was delicious and filling and extremely well prepared as well, especially the risotto, pizza, and pasta, so kudos to the chefs.
Thank you so much to everyone who made this a memorable experience!! We plan to continue to bring our other family members in the future and we appreciate every single person who attended to us during our stay. We hope to see everyone appreciated for their hard work and diligence. I can't stress enough how well trained and hospitable the staff at this hotel. Thank you all again!

Absolutely loved my stay at Meliá Las Américas! The beachfront location was paradise, the staff were so welcoming, and the food was delicious. A perfect Cuban getaway!

I was here in June 2023.
Very nice hotel.
Very clean and well maintained.
Everything is built compactly.
The beach is fairly private and extensive.
The water was always warm when i was here and clear.
Has a number of bars and restaurants.
Good food and ample drinks.
Great live entertainment!
Plenty of live music performed by professionals.
Pretty good wifi coverage with decent speeds.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Rooms a little dated, but on a par for Cuba, spotlessly clean, location is perfect, beautiful beach and sea, great food in the restaurants especially the Italian. One negative was a shortage of loungers on the beach, as we noticed a few people coming up from the Melia varadero at the other end of the beach taking loungers, as they have the same towels and similar colour bands. Also the outside seating in the evening is very limited.

What another beautiful vacations we had. Service was impeccable. Beach was beautiful, clean and no algae. Customer service care group are excellent, always working to please us. The rooms and grounds are well kept and clean. The food was excellent in the Italian restaurant (LOVE LOVE their thin Prosciutto and cheese pizza) & the Japanese restaurant is always delicious and entertaining. The Buffet has many choices, so we ate different things every day. The head Italian Chef is checking every restaurant à la carte and buffet, so you know they care. The General Manager is friendly and make sure everyone is happy. The Customer Service Manager and her team are great, so efficient and customer focused. I love this resort and I love the people working there.

Fantastic resort with incredible service. The staff here go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Beautiful stretch of beach that is never crowded and has more than enough seats to go around so you don't need to worry about missing out. If the beach isn't your thing the pools here are great as well. Food is well above average for Cuba. Unfortunately, the golf course was dealing with some golf cart shortage issues during our visit so availability of carts was minimal and I ended up walking several rounds. That being said, the golf course is beautifully laid out and fun to play. High recommended resort.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic, really enjoyed the beach and aqua gym! Wish there was better access to bottled water and better wifi. But overall, very happy with the price to value for the experience!

Fabulous resort. Went in September for my first time. Unfortunately half way through my trip I received an emergency call from home. The staff showed concern and compassion for what I was going through. Shortly after I arrived home both my parents passed away. The friends I went with to the resort asked if I wanted to go back for a “do over”. I decided that my parents would’ve wanted me to go back. So in January I went back and was welcomed with open arms from the staff that knew me from my first time. It meant so much to receive so much compassion and so many hugs. The staff are amazing. The resort is beautiful, beach is spectacular and the food was delicious. This was my second time going there in one year and I will be definitely back for a third time.
