Club Kawama

This was my first ever vacation and the staff made it great! My room attendant Dulce kept my room clean and was a very lovely person, all the staff were lovely and sweet! As a picky eater I was always able to find something I was able to eat and still be full. I was late by 2 days and they were still able to accommodate me and I felt safer here then walking around back home in the city. I really would love to come back and stay in the same room again! And if you didn’t like your visit you should have said something and they would have fixed it for you during your stay! I’ve been in worse hotels in Canada!

This was our first vacation in Kuba and the staff made it great! Our room cleaner Heidi kept our room clean and was a very kind person, all the staff were lovely and sweet! Fruit was great. Fruit lady was very kind. Beach was amazing.

Great location, wonderful beach and great staff. That's where the greatness ends. Our first room smelled bad, had no AC, no hairdryer and no TOILET SEAT!! There was also no phone so complaining involved walking 1/4 mile back to the office only to find out they couldn't move us until the following day. We didn't sleep much that night. The food, even for Cuba, was bad. Dishes were filthy. I tried to find a clean plate the first day and then gave up. Table cloths, I think, were used to clean the dishes. We ate outside where there were no tablecloths. Local restaurants were very good but it seems a shame when you go "all inclusive" that you have to fork out extra money for a decent meal. I will not return to Club Kawama. I don't know why some people keep returning. Once was enough for me. This was not my first trip to Cuba. My previous trip to Memories in Holguin was wonderful but I wanted to see Varadero. There must be a better hotel in Veradero. I suggest a 5 star.

Stop reading the negative reviews. This was an excellent place! Let me tell you something ladies and gentleman. I LOVE IT! There are a few cracks here and there as some of the buildings are very old. Some of it was built in 1930! Relax people! It adds to the beauty of it. ALSO the pools and entertainment areas are fabulous. The staff were very nice for the most part. (everyone has their bad days) It's not the fanciest place in Cuba. But it was wonderful and well worth double the price we paid! I will go back to this place as many times as they still let me in. LOVED IT!!!!! GO AND HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!

I love this hotel. Every time I go to Cuba my family a I have a great time. I will go again. It's a great hotel and one of the oldest in Varadero. The beach is super close and beautiful. The staff is awsome, they're like a family.

Great place, buffet food is the worse I've had in Cuba but the a la carte is very good and you receive 3 per visit. And the food around the resort is so cheap you can afford to have great food all the time. Overall not a bad place for the dollar amount you spend

5th time here. Best staff, beach and food is always improving. Rooms are just a place to sleep, some rooms are better than others. (2000's are newer than the 4000) if you have any room issues tell the bellboy right away. They have the best knowledge of the state of the rooms. As it is Cuba and they cant just run out and buy a new A/C. If you are looking for a great resort with amazing staff and beaches and pools, this is perfect for you. If you are expecting luxury and 5* accommodations, do not go to Cuba at all. Rent a hotel near your house and complain to your hard working neighbors who work there and tell them how much better than them you are.
Kids love this place as much as most of us. They dont have unreal expectations.

My week at Kawama was one of the best and most magical experience I've ever had. My room was perfect for me. I could see and hear the ocean against the shore from my patio.

The staff were amazing, friendly, fun, loving and went beyond just seeing me as another tourist.

The food was great! There were so many choices and so many different places on the resort to have food at almost any hour of the day.

I talked with a couple of Canadians who said the food was bland. For them it was - they stuck to eating things like potatoes, rice, bread, pasta because they were too afraid to try even a spoon full of something different.

The myth that drinking the tap water on the resort is just that - a myth. The resorts water is all filtered. I didn't get sick from the water or the food.

It was the most joyous experience and I loved the staff who are smart, aware, genuinely concerned for a person's well being and will go out of their way to help. That is if you see them as people and the professionals they are.

Please and thank you are such easy words to say and mean a lot to the people who take care of you at Kawama.

I loved the layout of the resort, the hard work to keep it clean - there are garbage bins everywhere and yet people throw their garbage on the floor or on the beach.

Anyone who complains that it's not clean enough should take other tourist to task for their disrespect of the place that they can't walk ten feet to through their stuff in a garbage can.

I love the Cuban people, the richness of their cultura, their diversity, their kindness and how much they made me feel welcomed and at home.

I really enjoyed my second visit to Kawama. It was a treat to run into old friends and make new ones. The pool area was always kept clean and there is plenty of shade to be found. The only thing it needs is new pillows! I will return again. Love the staff they are all very friendly.

Excelent place. Great people. Very quiet. Amazing beach. Perfect for couples. It has a bank a few meters from the hotel for money exchange.

I've been there twice and would return always. It is very close to stores or markets.

Local tour bus passes nearby.

I love Kawama. 2nd time there at the start of May. Staff great! Ivan at the coffee bar is amazing! No complaints! Met a lot of great people from all over. Will be back in January! Can't wait!
