Hotel club Tropical

This an older resort, clean, food was good, service was also very good. Beach is clean and large. Right on main street, coco taxi alway running up and down for easy cheap transportation. Close enough to a lot of places to just walk.
The downside is no main/ground level rooms or elevators for those with mobility issues. I will be going back!!

I am surprised as to how nice this hotel is, considering its 3 star rating. I would like to especially thank Adel Diaz - the chef at the buffet - for service and food that is beyond excellence,; for the staff like Kenya who always went over and above to please ; and for management like Osvaldo who always listened. Wish every hotel were like this one. Thanks for a vacation like no other. I will be back.

Been going there for over 10 years and it only got better. Food is better than other 5 stars resort I've been to in Varadero and location is ideal. Easy to go out for a walk, coco taxi or supper.

We don't normally go to all inclusive hotels, but we booked this as a "Last few days" rest and recuperation before flying back to Blighty.

The staff were lovely, always smiling and helpful. Special thanks to Ernesto who couldn't do enough. The food was good, the room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the main street. A bus stop right outside for the Varadero hop on hop off tour bus, well worth $5 for an all day ticket.

Good entertainment in the afternoons and evenings

The beach was only a short step from the 24 hour snack bar, and it is a beautiful beach with soft white sand and crystal clear water. Free kayak, paddle board, catamaran usage.

Some colourful characters frequented the various bars, that made the place more interesting.

We met some lovely people(you know who you are).

Yandry in the cigar bar was fantastic, we were lucky to get out of there upright.

The only bad bit is that there are no lifts, and I had to carry my wife and her dodgy knee up two flights of stairs after a few rums.

All in all we had a great time, and would definitely go again.

I had an amazing time there. All the staff was very polite and helpful. Food was enough and offered quite a variety, bar opened 24/7. Hotel is located at the beach and you can sip on your Cuba libre while watching the sunset. Would recommend to everyone who's not interested in spending their vacation locked in a hotel complex.

We did not have many expectations, but the hotel was nice and me and my daughter feel great. Food is not tasty and feels the same all time. You can go to a restaurant nearby, if you need some variation. The room in the picture is the cheapest one. It was small, clean, had a noisy AC.

Beautiful all inclusive resort in Varadero. The price was right and I got a week's stay in January 2020 for 645$ Canadian through Sunwing.ca (included visa, flight, bus to and from the resort and my room). Pretty good for a one person trip.
You get three meals a day and the main bar is open 24hrs. You have a little gift shop on site and knowing Spanish is not make or break for this resort. There is a car/scooter rental right across the street and plenty of cafes and restaurants near by if you choose to eat outside of your included meals.
The resort seemed to be a magnet for 50 plus retired folk mostly from Canada while I was there. So don't expect a trendy youthful environment (I wasn't expecting that anyway).
I could see this being a good family resort as there is plenty of things got children to do including a small kiddy pool and playground.
There are also daily activities that varied from day to day including live entertainment. Really unless you want to sight see you could in theory never leave the resort.
The resort is also right on the beach and that was the biggest selling point for me.
All in all I would say this place has incredible value and won't let you down if you don't set the bar too high. I mean, there's a beach and it's sunny. What more could you ask for?

Trip wasJan 9 - January 23 2019 Club Tropical was awesome There was 4 of us girls that went to Cuba . Everyone at the resort was very friendly and happy. Our room was clean and cozy with daily housekeeping.We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apt on the beach .Veiws were fantastic and the weather was beautiful and sunny,only 1/2 rain day.Resort was great without any problems,we will definitely go there again.

I absolutely loved this resort, it's a bit of a smaller one, but it's right downtown within walking distance to shopping, the mall, bank, food, bars, bus stop... etc. The food at the hotel was good, but the same for most part, as I said there's so many food options, there's a nice pizza place down the road and it's extremely cheap to eat out 20CUC for four people, or another location that serves fries and burgers etc. They do have a snack bar at the resort as well. it's an beachfront resort and it's all inclusive. The staff is so friendly, and since it's so small you get to know them quite well. I honestly would recommend this resort to someone who is adventurous, just because of the location. If you end up going to Havana you can hire a taxi for the day and negotiate a rate, four of us went for $150 cuc (tip included) they have things like kayaking, going on the boats, nighttime shows and so on. The ocean is so clear and you're able to swim in it without any fish or anything.
10/10 recommend
*don't tip in Canadian $$, it's useless to them and convert your money to CUC not USD

Best place ever people are top notch and that's an understatement! Good food, great location can't say enough good things about this place!

L'animation est super !! Il y a une superbe ambiance à tous les soirs. Les chambres sont très propres. Bien évidemment le top de cette hôtel est bien sûre son emplacement. Le club tropical est au centre de tout et s'est super le funn!
