La Barbacoa

The name is perfect for what you get. Delicious beef steak. the fish was also nice. La Barbacoa has delicious food, wonderful service and nice location.

My husband and I enjoyed our experience here. Service was quick and friendly. While not all of the food options were available, which I understand happens sometimes, the meals we chose (ribeye steak and french onion soup) were delicious. They were able to accommodate peanut allergies. As well, the music was a lovely touch.

Best food in the area by far. If you like seafood then you have to get the lobster. The salmon and steak are good too but the lobster is delicious.

A bit pricey compared to less formal restaurants (70$ for 3 people), but my friend was craving beef and it's one of the only places that has decent sized steaks, food/drinks were great and entertainment lovely!

It seemed that every restaurant in varadero was serving lobster, so it was a hard choice but I think I made the right one in the end. At first it started off a bit rocky simply because I,was not a Spanish speaker and there was some confusion over how to pay. I asked if I could pay with my MasterCard and was told yes. My card was returned and I was told it didn't work so I paid by cash. But the most important thing was the food, it was beautiffuly presented and was absolutely delicious and fresh.

It was served with pineapple rice, peppers and a bit of salad and melted garlic butter. I also ordered a Bucannero Malta drink to go with it. The service was great and the manager spoke reasonable English. I would recommend this restaurant witthout hesitation. To confirmed my recommendation after I had my meal I went back to the hotel and checked my bank account, it turned out that the payment had left my account, the reception at the hotel called them and told them and i was asked to go back to collect the payment next day and I was paid back the full amount taken from my card, in cash.

This is a bautiful restaurant in a lovely location and you feel as if you are eating alfresco but you are inside. Great staff and nice and clean.

Read a lot about this place and my experience was close to my expectations. The servers were very friendly and the place is nice for dinning in. I went with the seafood option, and the lobster was amazing. Try the San Francisco drink as well, it was very good!

If you go a bit early, the it's very quiet and they might not have all desert options ready. The waiter did his best to recommend a desert option that I may like.

Loved sitting outside on the porch. Very kind waiter and delicious Lobster. Value was great for Canadian dollar!

The best lobsters and meat on Varadero!!! The best waiter Leonel!!! If you say to him “Hi from Andrey and Anna from Ukraine”, you will have the best time there!!!

Everything is truly amazing!! Had the Steak and Lobster this time. It's our third visit at this restaurant and I suggest it to everyone coming Varadero. You won't be disappointed!

I went there twice and it was definitely the best meals I had in Cuba the whole week. The steak was amazing and the lobster was great!

There was a band playing both times so there was a great ambiance!

Go there if you don't want to play Russian roulette with your stomach :) prices are reflected in the quality of the products, I was happy to spend 40$ for the surf and turf, it was the most tender beef I ate since a long time

Only issue is that products changes daily, so there are chances you can't get the exact same thing the next day

96 canadian for four excellent meals and drinks all in. Cannot recommend enough. Incredible.

It's quite a popular restaurant and we had beef there. Very nice, not pricy, the quality is above average in Cuba. I'd recommend.

The food here is unbelievable good for Cuba. The restaurant has its own band they play excellent music going table table taking requests. The staff are super friendly and speak multiple languages.

Some of the best steak on the island I’ve had the pleasure to eat. State run and quite pricey but worth the cost for the meal. Sometimes all cuts aren’t available but every time I’ve been they always have beef tenderloin and lobster. Great mashed potatoes as well.
