Fantastic pizza, excellent prices, friendly staff! Beautiful patio, top shelf liquor and menu has prices in many currencies, so you don’t need to memorize exchange rates and guess. Looking forward to returning!

Such a nice restaurant, being a foreigner felt so comfortable here. Reasonably priced and the food is just awesome and of course the service too. I would recommend this place to any foreigner visiting Varadero. Their pizzas are delicious. Kudos to the team. Keep it up.

We shared a taxi with Japanese origin from California. while talking, they recommended us this restaurant. after 1 week horrible food experience in Varadero, we found out this cool restaurant with delicious food and nice service. the whole fish, pizza and tea was so nice.

Downtown Varadero,Cuba.Great Queso soup appetizer.Cheese and bacon stuffed chicken breast.Had a banana/chocalte drink that was that good I didn't need dessert. Great servers with great smiles.Everything was top notch and 60$ American for 3 of us.

Best restaurant hands down in Varadero. Everything is of high quality and flavorful. The ambience is also very nice located in garden patio of a home. We went there a couple of times and had pizza, grilled fish fillet, whole fish grilled etc which were excellent especially the whole grilled fish. The cocktails were also well prepared. Desserts were also good.

We went almost every night while staying in Varadero. It offers great food at great prices. The staff is friendly and they speak English (which is rare). Great choice compared to what else is out there in Varadero. We recommend!

We got here early, about 10 minutes before the restaurant opened, and we were glad we did! This restaurant was at capacity within 15 minutes of opening. Service was amazing! The food was delicious! The outdoor seating was relaxing - they had fans going to keep the air moving and the garden is beautiful. I will be going to this place again the next time I’m in Cuba.

Fantastic restaurant in Varadero!
We had lobster, tuna steaks, prosciutto starter and lots of cocktails. Everything was of very high quality, totally recommend!

Just as I was beginning to despair with the food in Cuba I found this hidden gem! The food was sensational to the taste buds. For starters I had the bruschetta which melted in my mouth giving me garlic sensations on soft bread. For mains I had the ham lasagna which as close to authentic you can get. For desert I had the lemon pie and to drink make sure you get the coco loco. It’s infused with banana which gives it a local twist. Service was tremendous and a great ambiance. Shame I found it on my last night otherwise I would’ve been there more often! Try and get there early around 6-7 or book to get a table as they had a queue as I was leaving. I arrived just after 6:00.

Excellent food and drinks, great customer service, and beautiful location in downtown Varadero. Piña Colada is really delicious at this restaurant. We loved the whole fish dinner. Will be back!

Don Alex was an amazing find! It was such a pleasure to eat here , the food was overwhelming satisfying, it tastes fresh, the prices were really good and staff did a great job. Don Alex is a must stop if you're in the area. It's well worth it.

This place deserves five stars! No doubt why there is always a line at the door. Great decoration, service and ambiance! We went there almost every night after trying their risotto and pizza.

One of my favourite restaurants in Varadero, we visited here twice during our stay. Decently priced drinks (cocktails starting from US$2) and meals that put our hotel food to shame. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

Great restaurant! The food was great and the servers never failed to put a smile on our face. Definitely a recommendation when visiting beautiful Varadero. We stayed right next to the place, so we discovered to go cocktails from Don Alex are amazing.

The best pizza we ever had in varadero.The pizza was so delicious and with so many flavor could choose that we even visited the pizza shop twice in the same week! Service was top notch. Can’t go wrong with this place.

This was the best restaurant we went to in Varadero. Great singing and amazing food. Our whole fish and pina coladas were especially great.

On our first trip to Cuba a couple of weeks ago we were surprised that we couldn't find a good meal in Havana - even at the paladar (family homes serving food but many are actually like restaurants) and restaurant, both recommended by AirB&B hosts and locals. And it wasn't cheap. What a delightful surprise it was to find Don Alex. We had such an amazing meal - everything was perfect: The meal (shrimp pizza, the grilled red snapper, the drinks - paradise daiquiri is a must have), the service (Tony, Yania and Yillian), and the ambiance (we had to return a second night and there was great live guitarist). One day I plan to return + will definitely go back. Don Alex is located at 31st St between 1st and 2nd Avenue.

Very good Cuban pizza. You shouldn’t expect a European pizza but it tastes great as well, prices are a little bit higher but the experience is worth it. Be aware to pay in CUP, the exchange rate for EUR/$ is not the best at the moment.
