Hotel Playa Vista Azul Varadero

We had a premium room which I have to say was fantastic worth every penny.
The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't fault with exception to a waitress called Fiona who threw a coffee at me as she got the wrong order 😔
The only thing that let this place down was some of the customers. You can't blame the hotel for that.

We’re seasoned Cuban travelers, and this for us was by far our favorite hotel. The customer service in the premium section was amazing, and overall the resort was much cleaner and well-kept than other places we have stayed. We did upgrade to premium and I believe it is well worth it… Lobster available every night as well as unlimited special restaurants. All three pools were wonderful, the nightly entertainment in the lobby was fantastic, and the rooms were relatively modern and comfortable. The beach was good, not as nice as further down the strip, but because its private it meant no vendors bothering you which was a bonus. We did visit in low season, which meant very few guess, and made for an even better experience. We highly recommend a Playa Vista Azul, you won’t be disappointed!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The beaches are amazing, the sunset view from infinity pool is just amazing. The room was clean all the time, maybe there is no such a big variety of food, but is Cuba and you should know what to expect when you get here, there is always something to eat and what they have is tasty. Also they offer lots of activities by the pool or beach such as rock and roll day, Cuban day with barbeque and live music. The rock day at the beach was awesome. Main pool with the bar is also really nice. All over there is nothing to complain about regarding our stay at playa vista azul. Was a pleasure to discover Cuba and it's people. See you soon!

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Really pretty and great location, our room was super nice and by the main pool. Always have activities going on at the hotel so there is always entertainment. Maintenance seemed really good. Two beautiful beaches, one either side easy walking distance, so will always have space to relax on the beach!

Amazing resort, the best part was the staff... they were so fun and kind and made the stay even better... will be coming back to this resort for this reason. Paddle boat and sailboat on the beach was an absolute blast... Bars in close proximity to both beaches, swim up bar in the pool... Not a single complaint. :) Food wasn't bad at all, fries and bread and fruit were all amazing! Lots of variety at the buffets as welll.

I am very happy and happy to have spent a quiet and pleasant vacation. Thank you for the good service of all the workers, they are very attentive despite the shortage there. I want to highlight the good service of the junior animation guy, very charismatic and fun and good at his activities, in short, to the entire team, thank you very much for everything until next time 😍

Amazing trip to Playa Vista Azul! Other than the gorgeous beach and beautiful ocean, the staff are the best. Junior, who is a member of the entertainment crew, is phenomenal. Sandra, who works in the A La Carte restaurant is so welcoming and Leonardo in the towel exchange is very helpful. We can't wait to return.

This was an amazing trip. Stayed for a week over Christmas, and Cubans love Christmas. Went through sunwing in 2019. Once you arrive, you have additional options for your vacation. Personally, I recommend taking the sugar, rum, and cigar tour. Watching them hand roll cigars is an interesting craft. Beautiful town and entertainment was amazing. Want to go again hopefully next year.

This was the 2nd time at Playa Vista Azul in Varadero. This time we were in Premium. First of all the resort is beautiful. We had a sea view bungalow. It was large, very clean and the view is so gorgeous. The staff is the best. From the cleaner ladies, the restaurant servers, bar tenders and the entertainment staff. Thank you for excellent service from Arasay, Carlos (sorry I can't remember all their names). The staff in The Coral restaurant, The chef, Doxana, Yanelkys, Yanelis excellent service. Thank you Yunier for being so friendly and best entertainment. You are the best. Also Roinny, Isabelle and Victor. Hope to see you again next year!

What an amazing hotel! The room, the people (whether at the bar, the beach, the garden staff and, of course the animation and entertainment team)…thank you for such a wonderful holiday! We traveled as a couple and stayed at the resort for 10 days in February 2023 and stayed in a premium suite. Overall it was a very nice experience.

We ate at the a la carte restaurants regularly and for the most part the food was excellent. The buffet was hit or miss but that is not unique to this resort or Cuba.

The beaches were fantastic and the water amazing.

Service was enjoyable (except for the girls working the swim up bar - they were more focused on having a good time and couldn't make a decent drink if their life depended on it).

The room was clean and quiet.

Would certainly visit again.

Great hotel !! I consider my holidays there to be successful and if I were to return to Cuba again, I would choose this hotel again.
I will start with the room - super decorated, large, spacious, cozy. the room was perfectly cleaned and the towel decorations were phenomenal.
The food in the restaurant was delicious, fresh and constantly refilled, so there was no situation that something was missing and the cooks and waiters were very nice and smiling.
Drinks at the bar well done, above all not watered down! And delicious coffee in the lobby.
And I do not agree with the opinions that only for tips you can expect something better.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and greetings from Poland, hope see you next time ❤

my partner and I had the most incredible stay at this resort!
the staff was extremely patient, helpful and showed impeccable service during our stay. they were so friendly (did I say helpful already?) and knew how to have a good time haha

I'd recommend a couple of things for travellers looking to book at the Playa Vista:
-yes there are cockroaches but during our stay (one week) we only say a total of 4, literally only 4, and they were not a problem in any way. just have a shoe ready! the design of the standard rooms make it incredibly easy to see one and kill one, so not a deal breaker!
-please bring cat food/treats!! there is a beautiful family that lives on the resort and they are so so sweet. one of the cats recently had kittens and they're growing fast!
-be aware of the wait times for the poolside snack bar and other bars during peak hours, there's only a small handful of staff and they do their best to serve everyone quickly but if the buffet is closed most guest are heading to the poolside snack bar. you are most likely going to spend 25+ minutes there! pad the travel time if you miss the buffet hours!
-bring hot sauce!!! or your favourite condiments, there are some delicious food options but a packet of hot sauce really went the extra mile!
-the buffet was stocked! you're guaranteed to have options everyday of bread, deli meats and cheeses and fruits and veggies (some of my faves were the pickled carrots and green pepper salad). the main entrees change I believe by stock, there's chicken, pork and beef, different types of rice and beans, fries, cabbage rolls and more! again, you may have one thing one day and not have it again for a couple of days! but it's a good size buffet and kept us full!
-and of course tips and chocolate! even during times I didn't have access to my travel money the staff still did a wonderful job meeting my needs.

the beach was STUNNING the sand was white and the water was a gorgeous turquoise, I wish I could live on that beach it was that beautiful. The resort was just so great, it has all the resources you need you just have to ask! I can't recommend this place enough, have a great time in Cuba!

I'm giving the resort a 5 star, because I've been to Cuba many of times and we don't come for the food. The infinite pool sells the resort! Both beaches were beautiful, the right side beach had a great lunch at 1pm daily! We spent most of our vacation at the infinite pool! Our room was standard, I highly suggest to bring your own blanket. The two blankets in our room weren't cleaned that I was provided with. Bring lots of snacks and chips & toliet paper.

Stayed here for my honeymoon last week. What a lovely hotel very clean and tidy, staff can't do enough for you, Food is what it is very repetitive but it is Cuba,the staff do the best they can with the food they have.
I would definitely consider coming back on my next trip to Cuba

This was our first trip to Cuba and we were very impressed. Our room was clean and serviced daily. We had a couple of problems with leaks in the bathroom which were immediately repaired. Contrary to everyone's comments about food at the resorts in Cuba, the food at the buffet was great!

Our only suggestion for improvement is that WiFi was given for 7 hour periods and then we had to have access reset at the Front Desk for another 7 hours. Why not just turn it on for the duration of our star?

I really love this resort, the best things are the infinity pool by the ocean and bar inside the other large pool, very beautiful for photos and staff/service is very good!!

Lots of places to eat and get drinks day or night!

Stayed for 7 days with my family. Very good resort. Loved it. Huge Infinity pool when you enter the hotel as well as two other big pools kept well. Huge resort. Lovely to walk around. Beach is awesome. There are two. On both sides. Staff is extremely nice and polite. Night shows are fabulous. 4 al carte restaurants. Huge buffet with 100 odd items to choose from. The food was repetitive but overall very good. Good spice it up. The desserts were amazing and fresh and very very tasty. Ice cream line up was long as it was so good. 5 huge bars all around. The resorts was packed but it’s a huge, sprawled out in an acre of land so no need to bump into anyone.
Overall I will positively recommend to anyone to go to Playa Vista Azul. They will really have a wonderful holiday like how we had our holiday at this hotel. Will go back again.

We had such a wonderful time here. The room was good, the food was good. The beach and pool were wonderful. Entertainment was enthusiastic and fun. Yes, there were bugs and birds. Would you really expect there not to be? We will come back as soon as we can. Thanks for the wonderful vacation in November 22

Had an awesome stay here. Service for our room every day was class 🙌 Bar staff were friendly, and the cocktails were lovely 👌🍹 The location was perfect. As was the sunsets 🌇
