Café & Macadamia

We stopped here for a quick lunch in our way to La Fortuna. I’m so glad we did! The open air dining area was beat with the macadamia shell floor. Great view of the lake and many birds including toucans. We had the chicken Casado plate and it was the best meal of our entire week in Costa Rica! Paired it with an Imperial beer for a great price. Great looking bakery and they sell some souvenirs too. Ask to try a freshly roasted macadamia nut!

Such a unique cafe overlooking Lake Arenal. Beautiful and relaxing! Everything booked from scratch and fresh! Highly recommend their pastries and pineapple tea.

Almost didn’t stop here because of the more negative reviews but so glad we did. Service was great, the drinks were amazing (recommend the volcán frío) and lovely views - even saw an armadillo! It did get busy when we were leaving as a tour bus arrived. Reasonably priced too!

We stopped for lunch! The view was spectacular. It was the perfect place to stop for lunch on the way from La Fortuna to Monteverde. Lots of vegetarian options!

We are so glad we picked this place to stop on our drive between La Fortuna and Monteverde. The views were gorgeous, food was fresh, parking was easy, and bathrooms were clean.

Food was awesome and the view was gorgeous. Service was great and they have the best souviners around.

Really beautiful views of Lake Arenal! We went for dinner and had a good time. My husband got the mini pizza and I got the arroz con pollo. I also got the pineapple drink which was super delicious! You are recommended to tip the parking lot guard as an a fyi.

This place was sooooo fun and the views were 1000% spectacular.
I got the Costa Rican shepherds pie, and my wife got the shrimp Alfredo.

Gorgeous views and delicious yummy food. The prices I found quite reasonable and the amount of food was great. There deserts looked absolutely delicious even though I didn’t have any. I would highly recommend this place. The views alone are spectacular

Stopped here a restaurant picked out by a local tour guide, Jose from Adventure Tours. The restaurant sits on top of a mountain with outdoor seating overlooking Lake arenal. All I could say was WOW when I entered the seating are overlooking the mountainside. Such a wonderful surprise! All our food that day was pre picked and ordered by our guide and served promptly on our arrival and it was all perfect. Just amazing

Great restaurant with a special view of the mountain and lake. Did a brief stop and tried the cinnamon roll and the special macadamia coffee. For the food and macadamia coffee (a bit too sweet) I would just give four but the view is so fantastic, thats why it’s 5. there is also a parking guard at the property who will watch your items in the car, for a small fee. Credit card payment is available.

Absolutely beautiful little restaurant as you drive around Lake Arenal! The back patio has a STUNNING view to the lake and the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! They also had delicious drinks, smoothies, and desserts, as well as a small shopping area. Absolutely worth stopping at!

Great cafe for a quick snack on the way to La Fortuna or beyond. They have both savory meals and dessert selections, along with lots of coffee and smoothies to choose from (and a couple very cute cats). The views of Lake Arenal from here are really nice too.

Beautiful view of the lake while sipping some wonderful coffee! We ordered the Macadamia house special, mocha and the lemonade. The flavors were great! They also serve food which we didn’t get a chance to eat, but smelled great! The outdoor seating is a must. Great place to stop enroute monteverde, the Panasonic views of lake Arenal is phenomenal.

Stunning view on our way to La Fortuna from Tamarindo, make sure to stop by. We had the Chicken sandwich and it was so delicious! Highly recommend a stop here!

This Place is an absolute Gem hidden away in the mountains. Had an unplanned stop here but was pleasantly surprised with the service, variety and quality of the food...not to mention the view! I ended spending 2 hours instead of a quick bite and go :)
