Toucan Lane Suites and Event Centre

Me & My Girlfriend, Danielle stayed here and we loved it. Jo & Simon were amazing hosts and we bonded with them one night over wine and stories of the paranormal and unexplained. We were there for them for emotional support when their sink caved in. Breakfast was great too. And the view….. amazing. As a traveling mural artist, I would love to come back some time to do a mural on the property. I had my eye on this section of wall right here

We loved our stay here! Jo and Simon greeted us so warmly, despite our late arrival from Liberia. Their vibrant and beautiful energy matched the place! The grounds are beautiful and we loved our room. The bed was so comfortable and we had a terrace with a beautiful view and a large stone shower w great hot water. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds in the morning. We would definitely return.

This place is fabulous!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Watching the birds while having morning coffee was a definite perk. The lake was another, as well as the proximity to both LaFortuna and Nuevo Arenal. We wish we could have stayed for longer. Simon and Joann were wonderful hosts, and were able to help us plan and book activities. And their friendly dogs made our children feel at home here. I would return in a heartbeat!!

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Toucan Lane for 2 nights while traveling across Costa Rica. Simon and the dogs were great host providing a kind welcome and information. We stayed in the Jungle room which had a lovely overlook of the trees around arenal lake. We loved watching the birds from our room! We liked that between the 2 bed options one was in air conditioning and one was more open to the sun and bird sounds. Although I'm sure there are more luxurious options in the area, Toucan serves as a great value and quality for its price point. I do suggest driving here during the day, roads are extremely curvy with no lights. Not a lot of food options suggested nearby, we loved bringing groceries and cooking up a basic meal. Loved the taste of costa rica living!

Lovely place with a beautiful view. Joanne and Simon are fantastic hosts. Breakfast included was delicious and freshly made every morning.

Wonderful hosts, beautiful place and incredible views.
We had a king size bed in our room and it was super comfortable.
Great breakfasts.
We've been there twice and will return again.

This is an excellent place to stay if you want a little distance from the super touristy La Fortuna.
It is beautiful, quiet, and the owners are extremely friendly. (There are a few sweet dogs to play with.)
I look forward to returning in the future.

Absolutely fantastic spot. We (family of 4) just stopped there for a lunch during our road trip to Monteverde. They have nice boutique shop, restaurant with great kitchen, and the food was delicious & service was just awesome. The view from the terrace is stunning and sometimes you can see wild animals on the nearby trees.
Next time in Costa Rica we are going to stay there for couple of nights :) Greetings from Poland !

We unfortunately got stuck in bad traffic around liberia Airport, which caused us to run late in arriving to Toucan. Nonetheless, we were greeted with enthusiasm and joy!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing! Simon and Joanne were gracious hosts, extremely responsive and made our stay so wonderful! Their staff us 100% one of the best I've experienced on vacation. Oscar was willing to take us into town to check out the local spots. Gasolina, was quick and on top of getting things done. He was always busy and willing to help.

Kinder, the chef 👨‍🍳 omg everything we had that came out of his kitchen was so amazing! He even made my parents anniversary spread so special and full of options. I would not hesitate booking a stay at Toucan Lane and would totally stay again!

We stopped here for lunch en route from La Fortuna to Monteverde. This place was simply amazing. Great food; and a spectacular view with beautiful gardens! Would highly recommend!

A truly enchanting place. My family made a stop as we were on a road trip, and were met with the kindest service, beautiful environment, and the most delicious food. BEST guacamole, AMAZING civeche, just everything tasted delicious and fresh. Loved this experience, if you are in Costa Rica I would 10/10 recommend you give this place a visit!!

We loved Toucan Lane so much so we extended our stay from 2 to 4 nights. The Jungle suit was the most beautiful hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, you feel like you wake up in the middle of the rainforest.

Toucan Lane was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Costa Rica!

This was a great end to our honeymoon trip. A few years back, we were driving through and stopped at the restaurant for lunch. We were hooked on the view - looks like Jurassic Park! This trip, we decided to stay and had a wonderful experience. The hosts were very hospitable and nice, and went out of their way to make this stay extra special. I'm talking homemade orange juice, carrot bread, coffee and beer! They let us use their kayaks and we went out one morning, had the lake to ourselves with a picturesque volcano in the background.. The room was clean and fun! Definitely coming back!

Run by a sweet couple from Canada (got to get to know them while we were there which was really nice) with a pack of lovely dogs that roamed around (with the yellow dog, Gypsy, accompaning us down to the lake and sleeping outside our room!). Nice distance away from the busy town of La Fortuna with a excellent resteraunt with food and drinks you could take back to the pool! Loved waking up and hearing the sounds of the forest, rain, and birds on the balcony of the Cabello suite and watching the sky light up with the sunset while in the pool. Will definitely be coming back!

Joanne and Simon are wonderful hosts and made our stay in the Arenal area better in every way. From the spacious rooms, the good tips and the magnificent location, we were sad we hadn't booked more time!
We will definitely go back to this little piece of paradise.

Our recent stay at Toucan Lane was wonderful in every respect. The hotel was both tasteful, comfortable & well appointed. The murals are especially captivating. The jungle & hill view is magnificent along with all the different birds feeding & nesting nearby. Joanne & Simon are considerate & helpful hosts, they gave us great tips & recommendations of what to do & see in the area. We would heartily recommend Toucan Lane as a lovely place to stay in the Arenal area.

Stayed here for four nights and adored it. It’s the most beautiful place with the most lovely, accommodating and friendly hosts. The view is stunning and the property is so cozy.
We had a lot of rain, which our hosts apologized profusely for (not their fault) but their covered patio made it beautiful to watch.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Toucan Lane twice in the last few months for a total of 5 nights. Our hosts Joanne & Simon are an amazing couple, very welcoming and accommodating...they truly made us feel like family or long lost friends! The rooms were clean & spacious, very tastefully decorated & the grounds lush with beautiful birds & vegetation .. a relaxing paradise! Food in the restaurant prepared by chef Ronald and staff was incredible, probably the best food we’ve had in Costa Rica over our 17 years of being in country. On both visits we brought our mountain bikes using Toucan Lane as our base...cooler temperatures combined with scenic, hilly terrain makes for an amazing mountain or road bike experience! Love this place, highly recommend it to anyone, can’t wait to go back again!

Joanne and Simon are excellent hosts doing everything they can to make your stay as good as possible. Big comfortable rooms and a nice little pool. Close to La Fortuna and Arenal area, but away from all the tourists.

What a great place to stay. Joann and Simon are the best host and very helpful with any questions. Restaurant is on site which is nice after a long day to have a bite to eat and sit by the pool before settling in for the night. The jungle room was nice because we purchased a few crickets and ate overlooking the jungle with a variety of birds. Definable will visit again.
