Waffle Monkey

Great place to get waffles on the beach! Food is delicious. Service is great and you can't beat the view. They have tables set up in a shaded area so you are able to enjoy your meal and the view without sitting in the sun.

Perfect breakfast spot in Tamarindo right on the beach. Delicious coffee, iced & hot, and perfect waffles. We came back for breakfast our second morning because it was that delicious, not to mention the beautiful morning view!

Atmosphere was awesome.

Second time going while in Costa Rica. The cashier was from Australia, can’t remember his name but he made the experience awesome. He was Super helpful, and outgoing. Bella (the pupper) was such a sweetie just hanging out.

I got the apple pie, I saw a review on tik tok and I was super pleased ! (Waffles, apple filling, and the whipped cream was SO GOOD.) Highly recommend making a stop there on your trip to Tamarindo. They even offer gluten free and vegan options!

We got the chicken and waffles it was so yummy. The seating is great too right on the beach. Watch out for that guy 🐿 he can and will throw things down at you from the tree 🤣

My friends and I are here almost everyday of our trip! the waffles are so light and yummy! and the passion fruit smoothie was so refreshing.

I’ve had the breakfast sandwich and chicken n waffles, and they were both scrumptious. It was a splurge without much guilt as all the ingredients tasted fresh. I’m definitely coming back here the next time I’m in Tamarindo.

We ate here twice; the waffles were perfectly crispy. The chicken was flavorful. My Monkey Waffle was heavenly delicious! As if that wasn’t enough, Zoraida’s service was SUPERB! The owner was courteous and friendly too! Finally, a pretty fantastic view for breakfast!

My husband had the espresso, the smoothie and the bacon. He absolutely loved the espresso and the smoothie. The bacon was average, but best pork he had during our vacation in Tamarindo.

I had the fruit of the day (wild blueberries and banana) waffle with chocolate sauce and it was sooooo delicious. Perfect balance of sweetness, and the texture was ON POINT.

This was a steal! Great food great ppl and so close to the ocean. We walked off the wonderful waffles and egg sandwich on the shore next. The water had a view of catamarans as well as water crashing the rocks along the shore! Coffee and the decorations were added vibes! 🤙

Waffles in Paradise! I’m usually skittish about places that are so close to the beach as they’re usually tourist traps. But not Waffle Monkey … It’s true that this place is located just a few feet from paradise. But at the same time, the waffles were some of the best I’ve ever had. Caramelized and crispy on the outside, softer on the inside. It’s a must try if you are in Tamarindo

Great place for breakfast if you like waffles. They have savoury and sweet and great smoothies and coffee. Tables are in the shade with some facing the beach.

Fantastic, well priced, breakfast/lunch spot right off main drag with beachfront seating.... Great service!
Just wish the beach vendors would be off limits here, but it's public Beach, so ...... Still worth the visit and planning to return👍🏽

The food was incredible, the waffles are very good! They also have a wide array of drinks, including an amazing frappe. Would definitely recommend to those in the area, great for kids as well. They have tables along the beach which makes for a beautiful view while you eat.

Well, the place is great. You order food at the counter and then go to the beach to eat where you find enough tables and chairs, and a fantastic view!

The waffles are fresh and delicious with many flavouring options(ham, egg, bacon, fruits,etc).

The only complain is that the place is too expensive. Yes, the waffles are great, but.. . 10$ for a waffle and 5$ for a coffee in a beach town, that's too much.

Amazing!!! Don’t miss it! This is what we talk about when people ask us about Tamarindo. We got the waffle monkey, the big breakfast, and the egg and bacon roll, as well as the iced coffee and the mango slush to drink. All were fabulous but our favorite was the big breakfast waffle!! It BLEW our minds because the waffle has delicious herbs and cheese and ham baked in! It was so delicious.

We spent a week in Tamarindo and this was my family's favorite place to eat. The chicken and waffle was my favorite. The gluten free option was great. Everything was delicious. Do not miss having the mango slushy and the fruit smoothies...I was I was there having one right now.
