OMG, what a FANTASTIC find, 100m from our hotel!!! We were looking for our next great coffee shop and it was practically in our backyard.

The coffee is freshly roasted on premise and you can *tell* by how clean and rich it tastes. And as for their sourcing, they deal with only small family farms whose focus is on quality, not on quantity. The taste matches the expectations, too - you just want to drink more, to keep it coming.

Then there are the lovely people who run the shop. Destiny is kind, knowledgeable and outgoing. She filled us in on the various types of coffee they have on hand, explaining in brief detail about each one, to the point where we had to have one of each to bring back home.

Put simply: If you want The Best Coffee Experience in Tamarindo, go to Derecho Sagrado!

Wow! This is literally the best coffee I’ve ever had. Marcus was the barista, and he really knows so much about the coffee beans, the roasting and brewing processes, and all the various flavors. My conversation with him was very enjoyable. His passion for coffee shines through! I ordered a latte and it was truly amazing. Update: Destiny is another amazing barista at this perfect place! The shop is well located in the heart of Tamarindo and easy to find. They also sell cold drinks, bags of coffee beans, and other coffee accessories. There is no doubt that I will be back here many times during my two week stay in Tamarindo. Five stars all the way! 😀

Amazing service and the espresso and coffee are all ethically sourced from farms in Costa Rica! The baristas are incredibly knowledgeable about the entire coffee process and roast all their beans in house. I ordered a cortado and an iced chai. Will definitely be coming back to try the specialty pour overs :) 10/10

Want to learn something new? Ask barista about the local roasting process. You can buy a cup of honey roast coffee to enjoy while you listen.

I love coming here to work in the morning! I’d always get their iced chocolate latte which is super good every time. Super nice staff & right across from the skate park. (Bonus pic of the little kitten someone brought in the last time I went!)

Beautiful cafe in downtown Tamarindo, right across from a skateboard park. The vibe is calm and quiet, you can enjoy the park or read a book. The Cinnamon Honey Latte was amazing. Highly recommend checking out this cafe!

Excellent coffee shop!! Tucked on the back street across from the skate park and next to the supercompro. Come check them out. I came 3 days in a row and tried a pour over of each of their different roasts. All were very good and different. You can read about the Tarrazú region where they source the beans from in a book they have in the shop. I recommend the “thermic process” that has the most unique flavor profile of more blueberry and cacao. Talk to Destiny and she will put you together. 5 stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

such an amazing find. coolest little place in the heart of tamarindo by the day market and skate park. the staff is always so nice and so friendly and are like friends you’ve known for a while. The drinks here are so cute and the matcha is DELICIOUS. 100/10 I love coming here so much :)

THE place to come for coffee. They explain all the coffee they offer. They roast it themselves and only work with small farms for quality. Delicious coffee, beautiful presentation, great people.

This is the best spot in town to get a REAL cup of coffee. They care deeply about the roasting and education of their beans. You can taste the difference, especially since coffee is their sole focus here (no food). Highly recommend taking time to learn about their different roasts and tasting the premium quality with a pour over!

Great air-conditioned, sun filled location across the street from the skate park. Good spot to get a break from the heat and cool off with an iced Matcha latte. High quality product and good service

The thermic pourover was so good! It had very fruity notes and natural sweetness. We also got the iced cinnamon honey latte which was refreshing on a hot day. The girl working there was also very sweet and explained all the drinks to us. Would recommend this place!

This little cafe has the best coffee in town. We have gone to a few places and this place is the best by far! The baristas are beyond friendly and helpful. They have everything from lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew. Plus they roast their own beans! Highly recommend

The barista is very helpful and knowledgeable. Happy to explain processes and differences in the coffees. Great place to buy some good coffee that is unique to Costa Rica.

This place is definitely worth the visit. Atmosphere is nice with a great coffee house vibe. Indoor with A/C or outside patio seating. Coffee was delicious and staff was great. One other positive is that they were open earlier……you know, when it’s nice to have coffee. Oddly enough most of the other coffee spots in Tamarindo were not open until 8 or after, which we found odd. Anyway, if you’re a coffee aficionado, and even if you’re not, you won’t be disappointed.
