Spent a long weekend at Tamarindo Diria and it was a blast! The resort is beautiful and is in a wonderful location! The beach, although public and not maintained by the resort itself, was very pleasant with incredible sunsets each night. The restaurants all had delicious food. The pools were great and not too crowded -- we had no problem getting covered beach chairs. The staff was all warm, friendly, and helpful. I read a lot of reviews about the staff not being friendly and that was not our experience at all. All of the staff went above and beyond in our opinion. The spa services were also wonderful. The rooms are a bit dated, but not to a point it disrupted our stay. The pillows and bed could be more comfortable, otherwise, we have all very positive feedback. We got to see a lot of monkeys, which was just so much fun. The hotel also helped arrange several excursions and everything was so seamless. We look forward to returning someday!

We stayed with a large group of 16 ( including 5 small kids) here at Tamarindo Diria and had an amazing time . The resort has a very safe feel with security at every entrance and is very close to many shops and restaurants, plus its right on the beach. Our room was clean and everything was functional. The resort it's self is well taken care of , the staff that we interacted with were all very friendly and we didn't have any issues at all . We would stay here again if we ever travel to Costa Rica.

The place is fabulous, waking up to howler monkeys is a spectacle. The hotel is located in the center of Tamarindo, giving you access to shops and food stalls. Look for Yahaira, the concierge; she is very professional and was very attentive during our stay. We hope to return soon to this hotel.

This place is amazing. Great location right downtown next to everything, you couldn't get any better. They also have another hotel across the street where you can enjoy all of those amenities too. It's sunsets here are the best. Highly recommend.

After reading some reviews about the hotel and even Tamarindo, my wife and I were a little worried about our trip. Those worries weren't valid and our trip and stay were great. Everything from our room (adults only section), to the pools, to the breakfast, to the location were great. As others have reviewed, don't go expecting the Four Seasons and you'll be just fine. Our room was nice, not rundown, and clean. The pools were nice and had ample room (chairs got a little hard to come by at the peak of the day). The breakfast was awesome. I definitely over-ate every day. And the location is perfect. Also, just to touch on Tamarindo. I had been reading about being hassled in the beach or in town from people trying to sell things. While that certainly happened, I thought it was less so than other places I've been like Jamaica or Barcelona. Overall, I highly recommend Diria or Tamarindo. Just don't go expecting to have a great cultural immersive experience. You'll have to venture outside of Tamarindo for that

A favourite spot to stay for a few days when arriving or getting ready to leave Costa Rica. It’s easy, comfortable, has a great location and a perfect way to bookend an adventurous holiday. The staff are friendly, breakfast is delicious and we prefer having a pool view over an ocean view. It seems to get about of our room and walking on the beach. It’s expensive for Tamarindo but you can’t beat the location.

Beautiful beachfront terrace restaurant pool etc with one major hotel building. Other hotel buildings across the main street in Beautiful gardens with their own pools and hot tubs. The meals and service were excellent. What a treat to sit on the terrace separated from the busy beach by a hedge, and enjoying the sun setting over the Pacific. Visited as part of Gate 1 Tour.

The hotel was lovely! The staff is welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is delicious. No matter how busy they are, they make you feel like you are valued. EVERYONE is great. There are a few extras that stand out. The concierge took care of two last minute emergency needs. The yoga class instructor, Vanessa, is as good as my best instructor in Chicago. She assessed our needs and strengths. Then she adjusted her instructions and props accordingly. The class is appropriate for any level. I also would recommend trying the surfing. Being in my sixties, with no experience and I’m not athletic, I was thrilled that I took the class The person in charge at the rental desk was very encouraging. The instructor was able to clearly explain the process and take the fear out. I would absolutely love to stay at this hotel again.

A gorgeous and dreamy hotel with stunning views of the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Tamarindo Beach! I LOVED THE open lobby concept and HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here if you enjoy luxury stays. The property has two sides to it as well as 5 restaurants on site, all of which serve amazingly fresh food! The staff were super sweet, kind and attentive! You will not regret your stay at the Hotel Tamarindo Diria because it’s simply not possible! Pura Vida ✨

The property is beautiful on the beachfront.

The service was exceptional. Norby Carvajal was beyond helpful, kind and generous with his time. Norby was so personable and made our tour and experience 100% better. Exceptional customer service.

The location couldn’t possibly be better. An easy walk to everything. We visited during peak spring break/easter and it never felt overcrowded. Could always get a lounger at the pools, never struggled for a table or a seat at the bar.

Zero nightlife inside the resort, but there’s plenty of that in town so it was perfect. Chill vjbes. Lots of families.

Beautiful bar and outdoor space by the ocean to watch the sunset or relax and have breakfast in the mornings.

The rooms are nothing special. But if you’re coming to Costa Rica for the hotel room, I might suggest you’re doing it wrong.

Oh hey check out this monkey that visited us on the patio. The banana eating act was a bit on-the-nose, but he is a monkey so I’m fine with it.

Beautiful resort in the middle of the busy area with beach access at the most beautiful part of the beach. The sunsets here were amazing and the food and drinks were great too. Great service. Highly recommended.

The rooms shouldn't be the main focus of your stay. You need the amenities of a four seasons or Westin then go there.

The rooms have good beds ok rooms, nit top notch but honestly nothing horrible. I have been to 5 star hotels in Cuba and 4 star hotels in DR that were way worse then this - this is pretty good for the price point.

The service here is amazing. I read a lot of mixed reviews about the service, but those people are being extra picky for no reason, just because you come to a place where you think your dollar will stretch further doesn't mean you can treat people like garbage or expect park hyatt service - and to be honest, they did pretty good during my stay here, never once did I feel neglected. The location is prime, right in the middle of everything - at first we were a little thrown by the fact that we would have to cross the main street to get to the beach and dining area, but the full time guard always stopped the car and we barely felt the crossing.

We would 100% recommend this place to all of our friends and family and we will be back for sure.

Good rooms (a little small), plenty of pools, beautiful grounds, unbeatable location and an amazing restaurant...try the NY steak!

Only not great thing is that the staff are all pretty grumpy... Smile and say Buenos dias, and you get a look a like they wish you would go away.

We sat at the beach bar to catch the sunset here as we were told it is one of the best places to do so. We enjoyed a couple of drinks but did not sample any food. What we did see being served looked delicious. The waiter was friendly and amusing. I would recommend this restaurant/bar for anyone visiting Tamarindo.

Of all the hotels and resorts on the main street this is by far the best one, it’s the cleanest, friendliest, and most ideal spot for someone who knows nothing about tamarindo. They offer shuttle to and from the airport. Just hit the concierge for suggestions. I visited friends at other boutique hotels and stays and they don’t really compare. Will this resort give you an authentic experience in Costa Rica, probably not but you can easily stroll up and down the beach to eat at other restaurants and bars. The main pool is huge and has a cute little swim up bar. Forgot to take photos of the room but we were in the smaller ones over looking the medium size pool. My only complaint was the mattress being a little too stiff. If you eat at ANY restaurant in the area eat at THE RED DOOR, by far the best food we have ever eaten. Truly wish we ate there day one. Would have kept going back. Also there’s a lot of guys everywhere selling these little cool bird whistles. They sell a lot of other neat things that would enhance your experience in tamarindo. ;)

Excellent excellent location, at the beach at center of tamarindo town. Breakfast provided had a lot of options and restaurant with ocean view. Tamarindo beach is perfect for beginners surfers, has a gorgeous sunset and warm water. Lots of lounging setting by the ocean 3 pools, kids club. Would definitely come back

THE place to stay in Tamarindo! This hotel saved our trip! We were at another hotel that did not feel safe, had bugs, and no hot water and we were able to book a room here last minute that still was in our budget. It was more than an upgrade. It was a whole different experience. It was beautiful, clean, safe, AMAZING breakfast!, great beach access, multiple pools, kind/very helpful staff and in the middle of town with easy access to shopping and restaurants! This hotel saved our vacation! Thank you! If only I had researched better and found you first! The rates are better booking directly through the hotel.

We love hanging out at the restaurant. The food and the drinks are awesome however the service is a little slow but it is worth the wait. A fantastic place to watch the sunset.
