Polestar Hearth

This was my first time visiting Polestar Hearth and I can’t believe it took me so long to discover them!

I came on a Saturday, in which they open at 10am. I arrived at 10:05 and there was a line in and out side of the place (always a great sign).

We waited a few minutes to get inside and from the start, the smell was amazing! Fresh bread, discounted day old bread, pastries, and more!

The staff were incredibly friendly and our total time waiting to check out was about 10 mins.

The loaves pictures are the Country Loaf, Chipotle Cheddar, and the sourdough cinnamon roll with apples.

Everything was delicious and one of the best fresh bread in the city (i’d argue number one!)

I would recommend for anyone needed fresh bread or wanting to try out a new spot.

The bread is fantastic. So are the sweets- cookies, pastries. Absolutely a must try. Worth a drive.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to shop local, and Polestar is a favourite. The wares are always, ALWAYS top notch. The service is so friendly and the customer atmosphere is so dang nice - folks chat in line, smile and really appreciate the amazing products they pick up.
This weekend, I bought a few loaves, coffee beans and honey.

Unfortunately, I placed my honey precariously in the back seat of my car and it rolled out and broke. Totally my fault, and while I kicked myself for it, I was concerned with the broken jar in their parking lot. I cleaned it as best as possible in terms of glass and let the staff know inside that a jar had broken in their parking lot.
And they did the nicest things, and most appreciated (and unexpected) thing, they offered me a new jar!!
had no expectations of that, I was more concerned about the mess (thank goodness it wasn't July as the ants would be out force!!!). Yet, here we are. Me, a dummy for not paying attention when I placed it my back seat, to this amazing place being so nice about it.
A delightful gentleman in line was like "they are the best, here" and I couldn't agree more.
Amazing bread, amazing babka, and because of their kindness, amazing honey on said sprouted bread.

The bread is the best you will find anywhere in Guelph. I personally would recommend their rye if that's to your taste. If not, their sourdough and rosemary breads are a real favorite with our family. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. I really appreciate the fact that you can place orders online or on the phone. However, if you want to guarantee having the items that you desire, you can't show up in person. They run out of products very quickly. The bakery itself is rather small, you can't fit more than 4 people in the alleyway. But the overall aesthetic is very cosy. Our favorite bread bakery of all time.

I've been dying to come here! Best pastries I've ever had & the cinnamon bun was so fluffy. Coffee was great too but only drip coffee here & no dairy free milk. Couldn't believe how affordable it all was. Such a local gem & will definitely be back 🤍

I placed a mobile order last week for pick up Sat morning and my order was ready and waiting. The lady was so kind and friendly. I will be back as the smell and quality of the goods was amazing.

Always a delicious stop for bread or treats. Their menu rotates seasonally. I grabbed a dark chocolate brownie, butternut turnover and apple hand pie today. They do tend to sell out, so plan to go early.

Not sure why this place isn’t completely 5 out of 5. Absolutely incredible. The bread is just at a level if its own. The pastries are as good as it gets. Can not believe I am from Guelph and just tried them for the first time today! Angry but happy at the same time. Keep it up! 100 percent will be back!!!!!!!!

As a company you should keep your antisemitic comments to yourself instead of broadcasting them over social media. Bad for business! You lost me as customer

I have never seen a business that takes more pride in the quality of their products. Best bread in the world (as far as I can tell). Their cookies and pastries are dangerously delicious, and they also have a great selection of other local products.

Their social distancing protocols are fabulous! I highly recommend ordering on line, before noon the previous day to ensure you will get the product you want. They were almost sold out by 11:30 a.m.! Can't wait to get into the bread!!

Absolutely love this place! Their bread is phenomenal.....nothing compares! The spelt bread and rosemary focaccia are weekly purchases. A gem for bakery for sure.

First time getting their desserts. Got their version of the Hostess treat, Passion Flakey - wow, thank goodness I got 4. Now, do I tell the family, because then I'll have to share...😁

Just there for croissants - they were exceptional. It'll spoil you for any grocery store variants forever.

The long line drew me to visit. All the bread I wanted was already sold out (and it was Sat 11am..!) but now it makes me more curious to come back🤭

Very high quality sourdough bread and tasty baked goods. Often busy when open.

First time visiting today to get some pastry. The Potato Galette is so so good, love the taste and texture. FYI, their bread menu is between the pickup and order door.

Best bread in town and its not even close!

Incredible local gem. Amazing bread and straight up fantastic croissants. (I'm not exaggerating, they are THAT good).

I have been coming here for a few years now and you will never find better bread than here! They will even slice it for you if you ask. Wonderful!
