We purchased a truck from Phil at National Car & Truck sales a few weeks ago, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Coming from the Mainland to the Island, we had lots of questions and they were always answered in a timely manner. Phil even went out to the truck and did a walk around video for us. Rental car agencies selling hard used, worn out cars -- not the place to car shop, or so conventional wisdom tells us. But this would be completely wrong with respect to National Car & Truck Sales here in Colwood (Victoria) BC! Not only did we get a 2 year old car with 3 years warranty and only 40,000 kms, we got it for $1,200 under appraisal, and then Tom McKee generously knocked another $200 off the vehicle--just because.

The car is immaculate, and Tom was even more so, in all our efficient, kind, interactions. Zero pressure - he just wanted us to get what we wanted. That. Is. All. I am still kind of gobsmacked at the top notch and professional customer service we received. Nicely unexpected. Thank you Tom McKee!

While recently looking for a good used vehicle we went to National Car Rental Sales in Victoria where we were introduced to Tom McKee, Sales Manager. Tom was easy going and extremely personable. He was most pleasant, very helpful in answering all our questions, and, more importantly, exerted no sales pressure- a real breath of fresh air given my experience of car dealerships. Tom did everything to make the car buying experience trouble-free and we quickly decided on the car for us.
Closing the purchase was easy and efficient and took no time at all. We would highly recommend this company and the staff employed there, particularly Tom McKee. Shirley and Peter Baxter.

I recently purchased my second vehicle from National and I can honestly say if I need a third I'll be going back again. From the moment I stepped on the lot I was greeted by friendly staff who were very hands-off and allowed me to explore vehicles and test drive them on my own at my own pace. There were no pushy sales tactics and it was amazing to feel like the staff genuinely had my best interests in mind and were not just trying to make a commission. Once again, Ricardo was extremely helpful, friendly and had enough enthusiasm to power a small city. I had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Ricardo through National Car and Truck Sales. He is in incredibly professional and very concerned with the well being of his customers. As this was my first car purchase experience, Ricardo was very patient with me as I took my time. I appreciated his easy going nature as I have felt a lot of pressure from other used-car salesmen in the past. When I had a problem with my chosen vehicle the day after purchase, Ricardo dropped everything to come help me, including eventually taking the car to the dealership even though it had already been transferred to my name. I would highly recommend National Car and Truck Sales in Victoria, BC, especially dealing with Ricardo! They take care of their clients well and I love my new car!

Tom is exceedingly personable and helpful without being pushy at all. In fact, no one at that location is pushing you towards a sale. He devotes time to answering questions and knows the products. He's an easy conversationalist and has a natural and pleasant demeanor about him. My wife and I have now bought from the Colwood location twice and each time we felt that we were treated more than fairly. On our second visit we actually decided to trade in the car purchased from him only 9 months before so that we could upgrade to a newer model year and change to an SUV. He gave us more than expected for our trade-in and reduced the price of the new car as well from what was already advertised below market value. All in all, it was another excellent experience. Some people view ex-rentals as beaten up and abused, but I would rather buy a car that has a proven history of service and maintenance versus something off the used lot at a major manufacturer that may or may not have been maintained. We would most certainly recommend National Car Sales on the Old Island Highway to anyone looking for a used ex-rental car.

Very happy with the customer service here, and the car. Ricardo went the distance to make sure we got the best deal for the car we wanted. We felt the opposite of pressured, which was a welcome change from everywhere else. We felt that Ricardo really cared, and he was respectful and friendly at every turn. They had a great selection, and the service we got makes it easy to recommend.

All the anxiety that should have been paired with the process of looking for and purchasing a new vehicle virtually was erased in dealing with National Victoria. Did not get hounded on by salesmen left, right, and center like at a dealership which was much appreciated as no one wants to be pressured into making a vehicle purchase. The staff were all very helpful and Phil Hines who helped me out with my purchase of a Nissan Rogue made the process seamless and fun along the way. So again, big thanks to Phil and the rest of the crew at National Victoria!

As most reviewers mention this is not your usual used car lot. Really nice people that don't try to push the sale and happily answer any questions that you have. They offer the cars at very competitive prices and they know it so no need to play any games. In my case I dealt with Tom but it seems like Ricardo is as good as him.
Regarding post-sale service, when I took the car home I noticed the direction wasn't perfectly aligned (only noticeable at high speeds). I let Tom know and he booked me an appointment right away at a location that was convenient for me to have it checked, no questions asked.
I've owned the car for 5 months now, over 10000 km and zero issues. 100% recommended

A pleasure to do business with him - no pressure made sure we were happy and absolutely no games. I highly recommend Tom & National.

This is car sales unlike any other I have experienced. Ricardo as salesman, Tom as manager, and Nathan as maintenance, come across as decent people with no sales pressure. The vehicles are in great condition, pricing is right, and there is only a modest document fee. I bought a wonderful 2016 Town & Country minivan in excellent condition, and they repaired immediately and without question the couple of small imperfections I saw. When I need another vehicle this will be the first place I come to.

I went to 2 dealerships before heading to National, and in those two dealerships, the sales men were very pushy and wanted me to buy the most expensive cars in the lots. Then I went to National in Colwood, they had a great selection of cars and the prices were very reasonable. Ricardo helped me, he was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He showed me the cars that were within my budget and he recommended me which were the best. At the end I bought a 2013 Mazda3 and it was honestly one of the best decision I have ever made. I am very pleased at the level of service they offer at National and I will definitely recommend this dealership to everyone I know. Thanks for everything Ricardo!

I was recommended here from a co-worker, and I'm absolutely glad I went. Tom had an absolutely no pressure style of sales and he never put us out in anyway shape or form. He was quick to let us into any vehicle without lingering around us, and had the exact same attitude with test drive. Nothing felt pressured, and I ended up buying a vehicle the same day. Really happy with the whole experience.
Also, I had done a lot of research with the prices of the vehicles I had looked at, and national by far had the most competitive prices in the area.

I could not have been more satisfied by the service from the entire team at National. Ricardo was incredibly helpful and there was absolutely zero pressure which made the experience fun for my dad and I. He gave us an amazing deal on my new Kia Soul (which I LOVE) and even took a trade in of my old Protege. Tom helped us with all the paperwork and even their insurance brokers were a dream to work with. I'll be recommending them to anyone who listens and will definitely be back in the future!

I had a wonderful experience buying a vehicle last Sunday. Ricardo was a huge part of why my experience was so enjoyable. He was warm, helpful, sincere and did not pressure me at any point. Ricardo was efficient in getting me a quote for my trade in, getting a CIBC agent present and all the paperwork dealt with. He even offered to buy me a coffee whilst I left for 20 minutes so that he could clean up the inside and outside of the vehicle before I drove it away! I am so thrilled with my new vehicle, it was exactly what I was looking for.

If you are shopping for a used vehicle.... Tom and Ricardo are the best! National has good prices on their vehicles. The sales staff are not the average pushy used cars salesmen, very polite and professional. With my recent purchase of Santa Fe Sport I needed the vehicle equipped with a few additional items. Ricardo scheduled the vehicle into three different shops same day and Tom made sure the vehicle was equipped and ready for my pickup while keeping well informed of the status. Their performance was above and beyond. Thank you gentlemen!

Great car buying experience at this place last week. No pressure at all and answers to all my questions. Thank you to Mauricio for your professionalism and knowledge. If you prefer a car from their other locations in Nanaimo or Courtenay, they will bring it down at no charge....just for a test drive. I would recommend National to anyone looking for a pre-owned car with low mileage at an affordable price. I love my Elantra!

Can’t recommend this place enough. All of the staff are excellent! Ricardo helped me purchase a 2016 Hyundai Accent SE in beautiful condition, with low mileage and brand new brakes. He stayed much later than he needed to on Easter Monday with me to make sure everything went smoothly, and let me take the car on a test drive by myself to get a feel for it. I came back a few days later to have a few small scratches dealt with and met Tom, who got the touch ups done right away for me even though the staff member on duty was about to leave for the day (and he did an excellent job!) I really couldn’t have asked for more from this place. Excellent service, great prices and an unbeatable selection of vehicles.

What a great car buying experience! None of the usual car lot pressure tactics. A great car at a fair price. Ferdie listened to what I wanted and respected my budget. He put me in exactly the car I wanted for the right price. Professional, friendly and courteous. Five star, at least! I will be recommending him to my friends and family.
