Country Grocer

This store is always a great shopping experience. I definitely recommend the bakery for their amazing birthday cakes, and also the sushi is delicious and made fresh! The cashiers are wonderful and very friendly. We still shop here all the time.

A great place to shop, their specials are normally very competitive, baked goods are tasty and the sushi is pretty good for the price. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This was my goto grocery store when I lived in Esquimalt. Good prices and selection.

They have this policy that if the price of the item doesn't scan as posted, you get one free (up to $10). So I buy 3 soaps, 3 for $10, or $3.34 each. They scan in at $10.02.

Now, I tell the cashier that they're 3 for $10. She says it is $10. But 10.00 =/= 10.02. She doesn't get it. Then she tells me it's because of taxes. No, taxes on $10 is $1.20. She still doesn't get it.

I pay and ring out. Go to the service desk and speak with the manager. I get one soap for free. Same thing happened the next time I bought soap. They need to train their staff better.

Always a pleasure shopping here. Great selection and good deals. But to top it off the have the best staff of all grocery stores in Victoria, helpful and friendly. Well worth the trip

Great selection and friendly staff. Lots of free parking and easy to access and wheelchair friendly. I was able to get a rain check today for an item that was on sale but they were out of. It was no problem getting one. Very friendly staff. Their sales items are priced very good.

A favorite store with quality meats, vegetables and fresh fruits. Many money saving items are offered every week and customer service is excellent.
Today I saved $30. My total was still $92.50 but I got good exercise carrying 2 heavy bags home off the bus.
About an hour and a half round trip. Feeling blessed to be alive.

Great deals, excellent quality and friendly helpful staff

I had the pleasure of having Pat assist me with wrapping my flowers. She went above and beyond to ensure that the flowers I was purchasing were the top of the line. She did an EXCELLENT job and I could tell that she genuinely wanted to help me, Pat exceeds expectations and deserves to be recognized for it.

I come early, after my morning shift, to hunt for half price treasures. Super fresh produce and very competitive prices. Friendly staff. Can get very busy between 4 and 6 PM.

Along with quality products, It's the people that make this a great place to shop.

Prices have gone up dramatically, and selection of jam is now limited to American brands. I see there is a plain clothes security guard watching the check out counters.

It's like an old country store. But modern enough checkouts etc. I am amazed time after time about the many in store specials, never mind the fliers.

Update 15.9.2023: there are four new self checkouts. They are for 12 items or less.

I been here only for a few months, always shopping from country grocer. It's been amazing for me in all ways.
Reasonable prices, fresh produce, store is clean and fresh. Staff were amazing. I definitely recommend shopping from here.

Good staff. But all the bakery items have shrunk in size with higher prices.
But there is always a deal to be found if you look.

The staff here are always friendly and the store is nice and clean. They do have a smaller selection then the big chain stores but that's the nice part they aren't a big chain store.

After trying to purchase items from two stores with only self-checkout services (I don’t work there!) it was so wonderful to stop in at Country Grocer where an actual person asked me if I needed help and then proceeded to help me. I know it sounds cliché but it actually feels like family there. You may not know my name but you recognize me as a loyal customer and I really appreciate that! Thank you.
