Satay Ria Malaysian Chinese Restaurant Cannon Hill （南洋海鲜酒家）

This venue serves delicious and authentic Malaysian style cuisine. We came for the Singapore chilli mud crab and it did not disappoint. The flavours were so good. My other favourites were the butter oat king prawn and the yam basket.

Fabulous food and top-notch service. The staff were very friendly and patient with our inquisitive toddler. So glad my husband could finally taste chilli mud crab with delicious mantous.

Friendly service and cozy atmosphere. It’s our first time visiting the restaurant and we love every dish that we ordered.
We went for a birthday celebration. The owner was so kind to keep the cake that we brought in their fridge and took it out after we finished our meal. They even played birthday song in the restaurant and other customers were also happily celebrating with us! What a pleasant surprise! Our group of 12 all had a lovely night and we all agreed that we will be going back to try more delicious food there.

Excellent service!! The foods all taste so good! The kung po beef was really delicious. I feel like i was in Malaysia for a while 😍 interior is very welcoming good for a group meal. Definitely will come again.

As you all know, when I go out we order a lot so here’s another place for you to add to your “Go To” in Brisbane.

The atmosphere is so delicate, warm and welcoming. Dim lights and Koi fish greet you on the way win, beautiful fitted with lanterns, Chinese touches and a sense of placement was well executed.

The food. Hands down one of the best crabs ever eaten, a rich but light sauce complimented it so well.
The Kung Po Beef is also a to dine for dish. I can’t even explain the sauce to you, you just have to try.

Go have a look at their menu, nothing disappoints and we will definitely be back.

Service: 4 stars: a smile but a little slow to start with but everything else was really efficient.

Cosy little place with authentic food, highly recommended. It was just a friend and I eating, but the menu looked so good we ordered a few dishes. The steamed perch with ginger and shallots, hot plate tofu, Hainan chicken rice and combination hor-fun (flat noodles in egg sauce, asked for the home made sambal belacan and fresh cut red chilli to go with it). Not dishes that normally go with each other, but it was all delicious. One of the business owners, Raymond, was very friendly too, and so were all the staff working there. Worth the drive over from the north side, and will be back again! Thanks!

This restaurant is a gem! Highly recommended. It's not just the excellent quality dishes, but also the service which is very personal and impeccable. 2 thumbs up! Will be coming back again for sure.

Come here once a year for celebrations and never disappoints. Food is great and the chef has tried some new dishes which are awesome. Service is fantastic and friendly. Just what you want for a family celebration.

Amazing food, quick service and reasonable price.

Went for dinner for a birthday celebration with some weekly regulars.

Was instantly impressed with the friendly staff. Incredibly efficient staff which made for a relaxing and pleasurable experience.

Dining on the chicken satay skewers for entree - the satay had a strong peanut flavouring without it being too thick or rich.

Mains courses were shared - Kung Po Chicken was light and refreshing with fresh vegetables and extra cashews, the Roast Duck was crispy and fat free - beautifully rendered, served with pancake Paper for a DIY.

The salt and pepper prawns were super light and very fluffy.

Served with a side of deep fried finely shredded broccolini with the stems removed - light, crispy and a great addition to the protein.

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time tonight. Got san choy bow and a beef rendang with some rice. Delicious and a good size serving!! The little lane next to the restaurant was packed at 5:30 on a Thursday so you know it’s good. Will be back.

I'm glad there's a decent Malaysian food place here in Cannon Hill - I had their Kailan 2 ways (which was a first for me), kampung chicken, seafood laksa and chi Xian tofu. All good dishes, but their sambal is particularly OUTSTANDING.

Today we came here for simple lunch. Food was good and place is very comfortable. They added new outdoor seating to the right side. Recommended

Really good food! The pecking duck was the best I have had for years.
The corn soup was amazing just like the Mongolian beef. And the fried ice cream too.

We are regulars at this local restaurant because we love all the dishes we've tried - laksa, noodles, rice, fish, meat - they're all good and have that authentic Malaysian flavour. The owner Raymond is very friendly and warm and we're so thrilled to be able to get decent Malaysian food so close to home.
