Mount Macedon Memorial Cross

We went on a foggy rainy day and the scenery along the way was just as amazing, majestic as it should be. Looking forward to revisit there on a sunny day again to admire the view from the top. A cup of hot chocolate at the roof cafe after a long, chilly hike is what we live for sometimes isn’t it?

I love to visit the memorial Cross! It’s so beautiful there and just so peaceful to be in the nature! It is a very well kept site! Nice restaurants in Mount Macedon too! With friendly people and great coffee!

Visited in spring and enjoyed a great flower display. Gardens and footpath are immaculate! It offers great views as well. If you are nearby it's worth a quick stop.

Amazing place to be. Many walking trails. Love the cafe feel here especially in the foggy winter days. Good picnic area and toilet facilities. Tall trees and ferns everywhere. Must visit.

Few other picnic areas nearby too. Walking trails for all ages and fitness levels. Very close to Melbourne for a good weekend getaway.

Peaceful place great to walk best for nature lovers lookout point too good view

I love this place. It is my happy place. I completely feel at peace and home in this environment. The wind in the trees, the beautiful smell, the quite. If you go early, 7-8 am , you'll see kookaburras, they watch you as you walk the paths, the wild goats graze , bearly paying attention. I love it here

Beautiful day, beautiful sunset! What more can I say! Dog friendly (on leash) and large car park. Toilet facility available. Didn’t get to try out the cafe as it was closed. Plenty of picnic area too!

Nice drive up Macedon nice place for a BBQ or picnic with family and friends

Great place to visit, was busy during Anzac day, the traffic on the day was crazy as the locals celebrate autumn festival and parking was busy. The cafe nearby was awesome and the location was very scenic. Great place for picnics and trekking for able bodied visitors. Mount Macedon memorial cross deserves a visit as its close by for a day trip, no entry fees. Hanging rock is nearby but plan it separately.

After Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance, Mt Macedon Memorial Cross is considered one of Victoria's most significant war memorials. It stands 21 metres high on the summit of Mount Macedon and commemorates all those who have served in wars and conflicts.

Its a pleasant walk from the car park. Spectacular atmosphere rain or shine.

Easy walk. Beautiful view, great time of reflection

The place features a big and picturesque cross that commemorates the ANZAC soldiers. Sunny an red leaves during autumn, flowers blooming during spring, and snowy during winter. If standing at the cross, the surrounding trees can unveil some hideous structures (well played)!

The memorial is quite beautiful in the early morning, especially in the fog, as seen in the photos on the review.

When we went on a weekday, there was nobody there but it may be more busy on weekends. There were plenty of parking spots and also toilets. Furthermore, there is a restaurant that sells very nice food here.

The memorial is to commemorate soldiers who fought in the war.

Great spot, however the gardens require attention and the view no longer exists from the Cross as it is obscured by trees. You get a terrific view at another location on the walk to the Cross.

I'd pay a $5.00 entry fee for bins & manicured Gardens - you have to get permission to cut some trees down.

Stunning at any time of the year. Can be chilly at the top, take a jacket and beanie! Keep an eye open for native animals and birds!

There is safe parking, toilets BBQ and seating as well as a cafe with a view. A great place to spend a day with family and friends.

There are walking tracks which can easily help you spend a whole day here exploring. Definitely worth a visit. especially on a clear sunny day.

From the parking area is easy to enter the gardens with a concrete path leading all the way to the memorial cross with spectacular views.

A perfect location to sit and watch the sunset. Bring your camera

It was lovely place and unexpected to have the clouds to descend down.

A friend and I had a weekend in Kyneton and stopped here on the way back..such a gorgeous spot. We also did one of the longer walks, which was lovely but insanely muddy!

Fantastic area to visit fantastic scenic drive. Good for a lunch trip.
