Macedon Regional Park

Last time I was here was about 45 year's ago!!
So peaceful, lots of seats to sit along the walking tracks, just beautiful!

Perfect day trip. Early to mid April would be the best time to see beautiful Autumn leaves 🍂. Parking could be a hassle during peak season. Cafes could also be very busy. Having a picnic under a colourful tree is a nice experience for the whole family.

Fascinating views and relaxing environment.
It worth the trip.
I would consider the following when coming to this place:
Bring your hiking tools and wear full cover non slippery shoes.
Bring your own food and drinks.
There are a few BBQ areas if you like to cook your meal here but it would be good to come early and book a space before 12 midday.
Take your rubbish with you.

Was saddened to see all the trees have grown so tall that the beautiful view of Melbourne is no longer.

A fantastic park area with lots of small walks and plenty to see. Dogs are allowed on leash which was really great. There's a few information boards on the cross and other points of interest, and some spectacular views towards the end of the track. A wonderful regional park to spend a few hours.

Great ride on the motorcycle up the mountain. From memory in winter, I've seen snow, so I don't recommend the winter ride. Summer was nice as it got cooler on the way there.

great 18km loop with a challenging hill climb and a visit to Camel's hump.

If only there were no trees at the cross, the views would have been amazing.. But really a beautiful place!!

Hanging Rock a park in the Macedon Ranges, beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. There's a cafetería, toilets, I even enjoy a game of cricket while having lunch. There's plenty car parking, BBQ facilities provided, just bring your snags, entry price is $10 🚗,

Dog-friendly is the best. Foggy day at a low temperature of 14c. Most of the viewpoints are covered in white, but it's a good experience walking in the rainforest in the rain and fog.

Lovely peaceful place to visit. And so close to Melbourne.

Coming into Autumn the trees are getting colourful and preparing to drop their leaves.

The views are wonderful and the air is so fresh with the smell of trees and ferns.

The cross is as I remember it, but getting worn, even after the 1990’s rebuild.

I used to be able to see Melbourne from up there, but the trees are growing taller and can’t see the city.

Spend the time and go on one of the walking trails. And do read up on the history as it’s interesting. Major Mitchell, why it’s called Macedon, why the cross and the plane crash to name a part.

Always good for a visit and the cafe is nice spot for a drink.

Macedon regional park is great for a familys to come for a stroll and look at amazing scenery and views. Gets cold up here so i suggest a warm coat be brought along, especially in the winter time. Dogs are welcomed on leash though.

Well worth the visit! It's a beautiful view from the top and great to see the sunset. The walk isn't difficult, and allows you to go at your own pace.

Beautiful location for a picnic. There is a Cafe, toilets, lookouts, and the Memorial Cross.

lots of hiking and bushwalk area with public facilities such as camping sites and picnic grounds.

Always beautiful to visit, whether it's visiting the Cross, going for a hike, checking out the avenue in autumn or getting a coffee at a local Cafe. Even just driving around the area is lovely.
