Let me tell you about Forest Glade Gardens. It's this incredible private garden tucked away in the Macedon Ranges, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint!

The minute you walk in, you're hit with this feeling of stepping into another world. There's so much variety, it's like a botanical wonderland. One minute you're strolling through a charming English section overflowing with flowers and giant, leafy trees, the next you're transported to a serene Japanese garden complete with a koi pond and a little bonsai house.

I went in early March, and even though I missed the peak autumn colors everyone raves about, the place was still bursting with life. There's a beautiful woodland area with a network of paths winding through it, and a hidden fern gully that feels refreshingly cool even on a warm day.

It's not the easiest walk though. The gardens sprawl over a hillside, so there are a lot of steps involved. And forget about bringing a stroller – it's definitely not suited for that. Parking was a bit of a challenge too, but luckily we managed to snag a spot on a side street in the morning.

All things considered, the $10 entry fee was a steal. I spent a good few hours getting lost in the beauty of the place, snapping photos at every turn. If you're a garden enthusiast or just love spending time surrounded by nature, Forest Glade is a must-visit. Just be prepared for some ups and downs (literally!) and wear comfy shoes.

We loved our visit to Forest Glade Gardens. Upon arriving we were met by a lovely ticket seller who provided us with a detailed rundown of the gardens highlights. The walking tracks are mostly paved and fairly easy going but there is some steep sections with lots of stairs. Beautifully maintained gardens with lots of interesting statues and sculptures along the way.

This place is just so beautiful and relaxing you could spend the whole day there. Big range of different flowers and you can tell the owners really love this place and put their heart and soul in to maintaining it.
Highly recommend coming here.

Must Visit!! Beautiful Garden, there are so many small small spots to take beautiful pictures. Love the soft sound of water from fountains. Great place for picnic with friends and family for those who are in the mood of calm and relaxing times. Good place for walks for those who are in the mood of trail walking.
All in all, everyone with different moods, you can get it all here. Relaxing picnic spots by fountain, walking trails, photography. Place you can visit in spring for greens and during fall for Mapel leaves 🍃🍂. Looking forward to going back in the fall of those orange, yellow leaves.

We visited the gardens in spring time so the flowers were blooming beautifully. There are several gardens like the Italian garden, Japanese garden and fern tree gully, which are well maintained. The entry fee was $10. It’s a good place to spend for the morning or afternoon. Some people brought picnic mats as well

An absolutely gorgeous curation of divine flowers, shrubs, bushes and trees. A history of care for this private garden makes it well established and complete with all the amenities you may need for your frolic. There is an outstanding array of well themed statues and pots adorning the garden and present for unmissable photo opportunities. Wear good walking shoes, pack some water and do not miss the Italian and Japanese gardens!

Private property with picturesque landscapes and manicured gardens. There’s an entry fee to help keep the upkeep of the landscape, but once you enter it’s total zen - serene, tranquil and revitalising calmness. Great walking pathways.

really atmospheric and beautiful gardens. would ardently recommend bringing aeroguard, or some other mosquito repellent, especially if visiting after some rain, as well as a pair of decent walking shoes.

Woww, amazing place to see natures amazing trees, gardens and more. Each area is unique and has trails of different paths. For a person who suffers from hayfever, surprisingly it wasn't bad, even though there was so many triggers I was fine walking in the grounds. Must visit.

Whilst it is a $10 entry, you can very much see why once you walk through this massive gardens. It genuinly seems endless and has an amazing variety of nature. The Japanese garden area was unique and had some lovely fountains and native trees.

It is a really nice and well maintained garden for a get away trip, around 1h drive from the CBD. Ideally should spend around 2 hours to enjoy leafy and scenic walk.

The best time to visit is probably during spring when the trees grow new leaves or autumn when it has a nice mix of autumn leaves color like red, yellow.

It has many areas planting different types of plants. My favourite is the Japanese areas during Autumn as they have a great walk path with a lot of Japanese maple trees.

Beautiful garden. Parking is on the side of the road and can be at a difficult angle. So much to explore here. Definitely worth the entry fee

I recently visited Forest Glade Gardens in Mount Macedon, Victoria, and I must say that it was an amazing experience. The garden is well-maintained and offers a good value within the affordable $10 entry fee. The garden is divided into various vegetation areas, each with fountains, statues, and the star of the show was the Japanese garden. The garden is a photographer's dream with its beautiful landscapes and changing colors throughout the year. The garden is also a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon with family and friends. I highly recommend visiting this garden if you're in the area. The only thing they might be able to improve is the toilet, I could not find one easily and the one I found are the portable toilets.

Hidden garden, very fresh and green. Although you need to pay at the entrance, it's worth a visit. The place is well looked after and can spend hours relaxing.
