Blackheath Fish and Chip Shop

Stopped here on the way to Bathurst and it was one of the best fish I’ve had. Very crunchy batter made fresh to order. Staff were very pleasant and polite. There was an old but tidy kept bathroom great for a pit stop too. Gets popular around dinner so expect a bit of a wait but worth the fresh order. Chips were nice enough. Would recommend for an affordable satisfying feed!

I usually drive passed this place every Sunday and Monday to go to Sydney from Oberon and seeing reviews and reading along I had to check this place out!

Where to start off? With the name you already know what you have to try out first but with what I encountered with their customer service? I felt welcomed to dine in! I'm very picky when it come to tartare sauce but this was one of the 3 places ever that I find that is just absolutely delicious!
Food is just amazing and what you should expect at a fish and chip shop! Short wait on food and they definitely have everything timed well!! Definitely coming back for more!!!

Tasty, friendly staff. I went in the arvo so I think they had more time to prepare my order well. It was kinda empty at the time which was good, coz I could put my hiking bag on one seat and sit on another seat to eat while looking at the sunset. I like the ambience of this town in general.

This busy little gem is located right on the Great Western Highway at Blackheath, just far enough from the main intersection of the town to guarantee easy parking. A frequent meal break for truckies, the staff are always super friendly and the service is definitely quick. My tip, the burger with the lot is the best feed you will get in the mountains - bring your appetite but not your wallet, as the prices are very reasonable.

Small store but the food is super fresh and beautifully cooked. Can recommend the grilled prawns and the fishermans basket. Love stopping here heading home from the west.

Great food and great prices. An awesome place to stop after trekking/bush walking 🚶‍♂ or when travelling up the mountains on route to Lithgow, Bathurst or beyond. Very friendly and kind staff. Some really nice benches with tables to sit at across the road to eat comfortably or turn right out the front door and walk two blocks down to a beautiful little quiet and secluded park away from traffic and noise to eat on some nice park benches with tables, with public toilets available. Park and toilets across from service station.

A great local business that offers freshly made food. Staff is super friendly.Everything fish and chips, chicken, salads, and hamburgers made to order. I had a delicious hamburger with the lot!

Spacious, clean and tidy, with dine in area. Smooth ordering in store, with not too long waiting time at 5:30pm. May try to order ahead online next time. Had grilled fish and salad. Good price, reasonable portion size. Will be back to try other items in the menu

Ordered fish and chips other than forgetting the vinegar the food was wonderful had burgers for lunch as well delicious. Definitely going back

Food was great and the prices are very fair considering how much you get. The staff are also super kind and helpful and the service is reasonably fast. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in the area again.

Amazing example of Mom and pop style fish and chip shop. Food is delicious and reasonably priced and it has a real nostalgic feel about it. Always stop here whenever I'm in the area!

Thrilled to have this place as our local. The burgers are tasty af and don't leave you feeling gross. The chip servings are generous and perfectly cooked.
10/10 would eat again.

Stopped here for lunch today after a bush walk and we weren't disappointed. The beef burger and chips were by far the best we've had in a very long time. Exactly the way burgers and chips were made before the fast food chains destroyed them. Prices are also very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

I love the hamburgers from this shop, they are so delicious. I have been coming here since I was a child and there is nothing like one of their hamburgers to lift your spirits!!

visited here a couple of times, while staying in the mountains, really great food great price and great service, my only complaint is dont put your staff down to your customers both your staff and customers dont appreciate this type of treatment especially when they are doing their best to create great meals, which we really enjoy

Omg we drive from Liverpool area just for there food the burgers are awesome and their chips and gravy are to die for and the battered savs are good too

Great stop for freshly cooked Burgers, chicko Rolls, scallops etc.
So good there may be a short wait, but worth it.
