Guthega Dam Wall

Thank god! I found this place. 10/10 I can just sit here for hours and hours and still can’t get enough. Love this place, so peaceful, so beautiful. 💯

The highest bit of Snowy Hydro infrastructure in the scheme. A lovely lake, but difficult fishing access to most of it.

Walk to the Dam wall and back can be a bit tiresome if it has snowed. Keep a water bottle handy. No proper place to rest and have to keep walking.

The natural beauty is amazing though.

Excellent, well worth the winding drive up the hill, obviously its not all about the dam, it is a marvell of construction consudering its location and when it was built. The real attraction was the surrounding scenery.

A really tranquil place if you want to enjoy the views of the snow and are not really into skiing. Just make sure you time your visit on a clear day otherwise the clouds will obscure your view of the dam

Nice point of interest at Guthega. Beautiful view of the range plus a starting point for backcountry snowboarding/skiing.

Spotted the Guthega Dam Wall while skiing down to the Carpark Double Chairlift with my sister. Attached are a couple of photos we captured.

Nice spot. There is a sign prohibiting swimming and kayaking. Otherwise, I would plan a kayak trip. As it stands....not much to do there, but soak in the beauty of it all. One star less due to excessive safety rules. A warning sign with an outline of risks should be enough.

Stayed at Guthega for few days in summer. Nice surrounding and some amazing weather events like fog in the morning giving a mystic look to the place wrapped in the thick fog.
