Highest peak..
But the path made too turisty...
Parking lot to summit and back ‐ less than 5 hours (18.7km with 900m elevation gain 🤷🏽)
Anyhow, was beautiful!

Beautiful scenery up there with native flowers and streams. We went in late January and did not expect very cold weather but definitely go prepared. Wear flexibly and definitely pack waterproof pants and a jacket.

Australia’s highest point, situated between Melbourne and Sydney, is no small peak at 7,310 feet (2,288m) high. There are two main routes you can take to the summit: start at Thredbo ski resort for an eight-mile (13 km) jaunt or from Charlotte Pass for a longer 11.6mile (18.7km) hike. To avoid snow, go in December through to March. The Thredbo route will carry you above Lake Cootapatamba, Australia’s highest lake, and you can hitch a ride in the cable car if your feet are tired. Opt for the Charlotte Pass route and your exertions will be rewarded with alpine wildflowers aplenty. Easy-breezy boardwalks and paved paths take you to the very top, where you can gaze at neighbouring Mount Townsend – only 60 feet (18m) shorter than the one you’re standing on.

I came up here on what was likely one of the worst days to climb. Wind was measured by the Parks staff at 80km/hr, there was rain, and I did not come prepared whatsoever. Who can really, for that weather?
It's not a hard climb to be honest if you take the chairlift from Thredbo, weather permitting. With the wind and rain we had to really motivate ourselves. We were freezing and my 7yo got blown off the raised metal track and few times. It took around 4 hours for us to go up to the summit and back but I could do it alone in good weather much, much faster. The track does have signs asking people not to run though. There's great views from the top. You can come from a few different approaches, not just Thredbo.
There's no water on the walk, no protection from the elements. A toilet is about 4.5km's in, if coming from Thredbo. It's very nice for a long drop.
This is not a hard climb if taking the chairlift, and I'd recommend it to anyone with two good legs. Just be prepared for bad weather. Really prepared.
Lastly, the staff working the mountain were very friendly and we had the MTB crew give us a lift down the mountain after the chairlift was put off of service by the gale. Legends, all of them

It was a great experience going on a summit walk to the mountain. We were very overwhelmed by the views all over the walk ways. It was not very difficult walk rather it was very enjoyable.

My trek to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko was an incredible adventure! Despite encountering rough weather conditions at the top, the experience was absolutely worth it. The stunning landscapes, well-marked trails, and diverse flora and fauna made the journey unforgettable. Be prepared for the unpredictable weather, but the sense of accomplishment and the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit make it all worthwhile. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers!

For the best trekking experience, I recommend visiting Mount Kosciuszko during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn

Highest point of the Australian mainland & a standout place to visit .
Although there is not an actual peak , the top of the mountain is more like a dome .
I found the snow to be a hard slog due to overpriced impractical footwear so please choose the correct footwear in order to forge ahead and embrace the beauty of Mt Kosciusko instead of grimacing about falling over . Funny in hindsight 😜No bull !

It was a tough slog but we finally made it to the top. The view was amazing, although you’ll need to bring a lot of sunscreen and insect repellent if you plan to do the climb during the warmer periods. You can opt to take the chair lift to eagles point and do the trek or walk from the base up but that will take a long time.

It was a great holiday and first time I’ve been to the snowy mountains when it wasn’t snowing.

Sensational scenery and worth the sore legs.

Fabulous scenery, well maintained tracks and those views! My 16 year old son and I did the Main Range Walk. A 22km track that takes you past Blue Lake and onto the Summit before heading back down to Charlottes Pass. It was tough going in spots. From the car, having to park down the road, it was a bit further to the start. So it was 15km from car to the summit and took us 3 hours. Largely all uphill and not for inexperienced walkers - or at least take your time if you’ve not hiked a lot. The whole track from car and back was 24.5km for us and took just under 5hours including a couple of breaks. Loved it. The views were incredible. Make sure you take plenty of water, sunscreen and a long sleeve top, even in winter. The March flies are prevalent too. Worth the sore legs!

Super easy hike, just a bit long. But plenty of places to stop and rest. If you are really booking it you could do it in 3 hours. But stopping for lunch, snacks can keep it at a leisurely 4-5 hours.

Australia’s highest mountain.
By far the most beautiful walk i’ve been on. Its a 6.5 km walk to the top (assuming you enter via the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift) on a extremely well maintained path, either paved rock or a raised metal grate to preserve the land. The walk is easy/moderate with slight inclines and a few stairs. Theres also a set of toilets on the track. Plenty of lookout sites and rest stops on the way. The summit provides breathtaking 360 degree views of the surrounding alpine ranges. Highly recommend doing the walk as early as possible as it becomes quite busy later in the day. Just be sure to bring something warm and some sunscreen. One of the easiest yet most rewarding tracks in Australia.

Amazing feeling and expedition to reach the highest peak of Australia. Even in December we had seen a patch of snow areas. Walk is good well defined breat taking views. My 8 year old son did the whole walk without any fuss. Get dressed in layers as it get cold and the same time you feel hot. Food and drinks are essential to carry. Take asthma pump if you need it. Have fun and enjoy.

A Fantastic walk from Charlotte's Pass. The kids loved the adventure, plus there was even a small amount of snow in January, from WA any snow is exciting. Big hats, lots of water and plenty of food as it is an all day trek with kids, an 18km round trip but well worth it.

Great hike to do, moreso in the later end of the year when the ere isn’t as much snow. We walked from the base to the summit which took about 5.5 hours all up. The platforms and boardwalk were good but make sure you have waterproof boots or snowshoes for the top as there is still lots of snow to navigate

Amazing views going up and down the mountain. Scenic views all around. It's a hard climb, no matter what others say....my 7 year old whinged all the way up, but she did it! If you have knee issues, take some knee support. There are toilets midway but they're absolutely horrid.
