Braeside Mt Macedon Country Retreat and Bed & Breakfast

A beautiful place to stay amongst nature with a generous and attentive host! My partner and I stayed in the lovely gardeners cottage, which had plenty of windows looking out to the beautiful vines and garden surrounds. The cottage was cozy and the perfect size for a place to call home between daily outings exploring the Macedon ranges. Andrew provided generous brekkie options of fresh homemade bread and local produce and was very attentive in ensuring we had enough throughout our trip. The optional Antipasto Platter was also delicious! Thank you Andrew for making this stay so pleasant 😊 we'll definitely be highly recommending Braeside to anyone thinking of visiting!

We booked Braeside as it seemed that it was really well received and everyone kept saying such positive things about Andrew and the amazing breakfast. Both of those things were true, and more! Andrew was a great host, often going out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. We even bumped into him in Kyneton and he gave us suggestions for things to see and do every step of the way! He bakes freshly baked bread which honestly was some of the best bread we've had in a while, not to mention the freshly laid eggs from chickens out the back.
The cabin was extremely beautiful and calming with a fireplace, it really made us feel like we were back in time with none of the modern stresses. There were two friendly alpacas out the back too that were fun to feed.

Andrew saw us off with an entire carton of fresh eggs, and some gifts which included a handmade plate. We loved our stay and it is one of the places where we would totally want to return to in the future. Bravo Andrew for creating and hosting such a marvellous experience!

What a gorgeous retreat! 5 stars! Charity is the hostess with the mostest! We had a very full day with the kids and were running behind schedule but Charity made us feel so welcome and was so accommodating to our needs. Thanks so much Charity! The inclusive breakfast was delicious- fresh eggs from the chickens and home baked bread. Andrew was so helpful and welcoming, I was struggling with keeping the fire going and he got it going again with no questions asked, Charity also gave me some hot tips on how to keep it alive! Cannot wait to stay again. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage for a couple of nights and it was perfect. Our two little kids loved the place, specially Sydney and Anzac (the very friendly alpacas). Very clean, comfortable and tidy, lovely local produce for breakfast (delicious home made bread and fresh eggs!) and beautiful gardens to walk around. The whole place is quiet and peaceful, just a couple of minutes drive to a great cafe and lovely gardens. Also walking distance to a beautiful winery. We wish we stayed there longer. Thanks for your hospitality Andrew, you are a great host. We will definitely be back soon.

Thank you to Andrew (and Sydney and Anzac) for the perfect stay! We arrived to freshly baked bread, a toasty fire, eggs from the chickens and other goodies in the fridge. Andrew was so lovely and we enjoyed feeding Sydney and Anzac and waking around the property.

From the time we arrived, we loved this place. Andrew's welcoming ways & attention to detail was awesome. Accommodation so clean and bed was so comfy, breakfast was yummy and always replenished. Meeting, feeding Anzac & Sydney such a highlight, they are so cute. Highly recommend a stay here ❤

We had a wonderful stay at Braeside! A few days before our stay, Andrew has sent through great recommendations of activities around the area, places to eat and more. He was there to welcome us during check in with a freshly baked loaf of bread and a yummy raspberry jam and the fridge was filled with breakfast provisions. The kids enjoyed feeding Sydney and Anzac, the resident alpacas, and had fun spotting birds, rabbits and kangaroos as well. Andrew was such a great host making sure we had everything we need and even gave us some lovely treats before going home.

So much beauty and inspiration inside and out. This place is like a living picture. there are not enough words to describe the magic we experienced there. We would definitely like to come back and stay here again in the future.

Our booking details matched our expectations and much more...Upon arriving, Andrew promptly greeted us like friends and made us feel at home immediately. The Barn was the perfect country retreat and so clean with so many thoughtful little touches to add to a truly memorable three night stay. The cottage gardens, the farm animals and local animals were really special and lots of added extras included such a peaceful and lovely environment. Our deliciously lovely & ample breakfast provisions were delivered fresh each day, a bowl of fresh fruits and farewell gifts were so thoughtful and considerate - well done and a heartfelt thankyou to Andrew being the perfect host ! We were so lucky to have booked our stay (without realising it) to coincide with the Garden Lover's Fair which showcased many beautiful homes & gardens in Mt Macedon. Braeside is the best and we will be back for sure !

My wife and I, alongside our families, were lucky enough to make use of all the accommodations at Braeside the night before our wedding. The accommodation itself was cosy, warm, and clean. The property was picturesque - truly stunning in winter. The hospitality provided by Andrew was exceptional, nothing was too difficult. Breakfast was delicious and fresh - we were very well catered for. It was the perfect setting to spend time with our families prior to our wedding. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful time our family had staying at the superb Braeside Mount Macedon. Andrew was the most welcoming and thoughtful host. On arrival we were greeted by Andrew and a freshly baked loaf of bread with homemade jam which was so yum! Andrew's other produce including his homemade granola and farm hen eggs were delicious. Every detail was accounted for which made the stay very special.
The grounds of Braeside are incredible, boasting the most beautiful tree and flower displays as well as wildlife and birds. Sydney and Anzac the alpacas are such personalities and the perfect addition to the farm.
Andrew willingly shared his wealth of knowledge of the local area and recommended the most lovely restaurants and activities to do which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
Our two young boys enjoyed their stay so much that they want to move to Braeside.

If you are considering taking a relaxing break in a stunning area of Victoria, I would recommend Braeside as the perfect choice. We will see you again, Andrew

We stayed at the Gardner’s cottage. Loved the hospitality from Andrew, checking and taking care of all our needs.
It’s a beautiful setup at the country retreat, love seeing the Alpacas and kangaroos over the fence. Amenities on offer are best in class. Would love to stay again.
Home made bread and granola are an added bonus.

Andrew has created the perfect getaway at Braeside. The three cottages are well spaced so that each place has a sense of space and a lovely outlook over the gardens, farmland and the bushland beyond.
We were warmly greeted by Andrew who helped us with our luggage to our cottage, The Cabin, and found the cosy ambience of the log fire burning, followed shortly after by the freshly baked bread delivered to us.
He spent some time explaining how everything works and what attractions we could find in the nearby area.
The Cabin was very well fitted out with high quality linen, towels and toiletries, and the kitchen was well supplied with all the basics for simple meal preparation. The breakfast hamper was excellent and made for a delicious and hearty breakfast. And having Sydney and Anzac, the resident alpacas, greet us at the kitchen window for their breakfast, was an added bonus.
Such a peaceful, cosy, relaxing, ambient stay. We could not have wished for more.

Our entire stay was wonderful, from the host to the location and everything in between. The cottage was cosy and provided everything we needed for a peaceful getaway, including basic cooking facilities, a comfortable bed, excellent heating, and beautiful surroundings. The host was incredibly accommodating and generous to us - the deliveries of freshly baked bread and breakfast items made our stay that little bit extra special! We cannot recommend Braeside highly enough.

Cozy and beautiful property! Rooms are very comfortable (great beds, sheets), extremely clean. But the special touch comes from the best host ever: Andrew! We had the most wonderful time with all the family there.

We had a two day stay. The cottage was comfortable, very clean, quiet and private. The surroundings beautiful. Andrew was a friendly and attentive host. We have no complaints at all and will certainly be going back.
