Have been coming to this place over a few years now, for both winter skiing and summer relaxation. It is outstanding value for what it offers. The lodge would best be described as family friendly. I've been here as a teenager, young adult and now as a parent with a young family, but it is suitable for all ages.

While it is a member lodge, it's equally open to the public and the members (if staying there at the same time) and friendly and welcoming.

Easy to book and pay in minutes via the lodge's online booking site, which is nice compared to how most lodges seem to operate in Thredbo.

The lodge is set on the top of the hill in Thredbo village and is almost the last last lodge just off the Alpine Way before you head out of Thredbo onto Khancoban. It is set over 4 levels, with its 5 dedicated spaces being attached to the public car park a further level up. All levels are only accessible by stairs, but this is true for the entire of Thredbo village.

From the lodge it is a 2-5 minute walk to the main village shops or a further 1-2 minutes to the Thredbo valley lift terminal (add 10-15 minutes if there 50cm of fresh snow!). In winter it is easily accessible by the Thredbo courtesy bus (green #2) from just outside Lantern Apartments, so you don't need to navigate icy steps in ski boots!.

Bedrooms are adequate and comfortable. Half have their own bathroom while the others share common bathrooms on each floor, but these are always clean and well maintained. The lodge supplies all linen but you make up your bed on arrival, and strip when leaving. This is the norm for lodge style accommodation like this in Thredbo, though you can pay an extra fee when booking to have your room prepared for you when you arrive.

The lodge has a central heating system for winter. At the time of writing this, they appeared to be adding some cooling systems for summer months so the temperature is comfortable during a stay no matter the the of year.

Kitchen facilities are extensive and full. You could easily cook for a group of 30 with the kitchen available. It has multiple stations for cooking and is designed to cope with 3 or 4 different guest groups to be in the kitchen cooking at one time. There is a common dining room attached which is convenient but serves a more main purpose to easily allow you to meet and interact with other guests staying at the lodge (if you wanted to of course).

There are 3 common lounge areas for relaxing, which also includes a media room, table tennis table, snooker table (small), fußeball table (that's Kicker table if your German 😉), massage room (only operates in winter). The lodge also offers free high speed Wi-fi which can stream video or let you surf or work remotely if you needed to.

It also has a private suite (capable to accommodate 6 people) on the top floor with its own self contained bathroom, kitchen, lounge with TV, and balcony. If you wanted something a little more private and less communal that is!

It has facilities you would expect for a ski lodge (drying room, boot room, ski storage and ski tuning area), but these facilities are converted in the summer months to accommodate the other main activity for Thredbo being Mountain biking (bike storage, tuning area, wash station, etc).

There are also laundry facilities available (washing and tumble drying) if you were staying longer or needed to clean up after engaging in the activities Thredbo has on offer.

I have been here quite a few times in the past 15 years, and expect staying here for many years to come.

Nice accommodation with very nice management. Bike storage/ski storage is secure to outsiders but it's shared and can be very tight. Not great for those looking to get away without a scratch.
