Candlelight Lodge

We eat here every time we come to Thredbo.. it's one of the few really authentic lodges left..great service from our waitress who was from Korea and very attentive.. the barman was also great, suggesting different schnapps for my wife.
Food was first class, and very tasty. If your in Thredbo make sure you book ahead to reserve a seat.. their always busy.

Absolutely brilliant dinner here last night. Staff are so friendly and the meals are wholesome and delicious. Atmosphere is like being in Switzerland. Love the place. I’ll be back!

The food was delicious. Pretzels amazing and a must have ! The bratwurst oh my goodness yum! And we had the wagu to share which was also fantastic. The service was lovely and we were given a free drink to celebrate our anniversary which was so kind, yummy schnapps. A must go to when in Thredbo.

I am reviewing only their tap German beers. They are really good and made us go there twice. Amazing dark beer a must try. On the top of it their happy hours make it perfectly priced!!

My husband and I had dinner at the restaurant - the food and beers were absolutely fabulous. Wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere! We'll definitely be back here on our next visit.

We had our celebration dinner at Candlelight Lodge, a group of 21 men on a boys trip mountain biking and hiking and had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. The food and service was excellent as was the stunning view. Thanks for taking good care of us.

I recently had a birthday dinner at Candlelight Lodge for 15 people and we had a great time. The food was wonderful and the wait staff were amazing. I would highly recommend them.

The accommodation was great. And we loved the food in the restaurant. The bar happy hour was a real bonus!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Candlelight last night. I was so pleased to find many gluten free items on the menu. We shared a delicious trout pate for entree, served with gluten free toasts. We chose the wagnu beef tower, flamed at our table. Perfectly cooked meat, kipfler potatoes and broccolini. The staff were amazing, efficient and polite. 10/10 for Candlight.

Unreal food (try the veal!), great drinks range, and exceptional service. The staff are always friendly and helpful, candlelight lodge has a great vibe.

We did not have the pleasure of staying at the lodge, but made a reservation to eat at the wonderful restaurant. It was honestly the best dining experience we have had in many years and was as good if not better than experiences we have had at hatted restaurants. The food and service were exceptional. Thank you for making our very short family holiday incredibly memorable. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Wonderful food and ambience with a great selection of German beers. Highly recommended.

Booked for dinner. Great flambe meat dish and cheese fondue. Excellent and attentive and flexible staff, friendly bar. Great evening with the family, have tried to get in several times before so booked well ahead this time and was not disappointed!

We ate at the restaurant only (we weren’t guests at the lodge). The atmosphere and staff were lovely and the food was SOOOO good. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience on the mountain. To make the experience extra special make sure you arrive before sunset and book a table by the window to see stunning views of the mountain ranges!

Two wonderful meals in a very romantic location with fantastic , informed and fun staff. We are only here for a week and will choose to dine here again on our last night (so three evenings in total). A locally produced schnapps nightcap at the bar after dinner is a must and a great way to finish the evening and meet others. Need we say more.

We love staying at this friendly, well run, traditional ski lodge with amazing mountain views from our warm, comfy room and brand new bathroom.
The restaurant serves a great variety of delicious food and the cosy bar with fire and wide range of German beers & local schnapps too, has a great vibe, especially when live guitar sings all our old favs!

Great food and service!!! We had the Tiroler Grostl for entree then schnitzel and fish for mains. Chocolate fondue for dessert. My guy had the German beer on tap and blackforest schnapps that he said goes very well with our dessert. I would love to be back and will recommend to friends!☺

A lovely Lodge steeped in Thredbo tradition. It was surprise and pleasure to be remembered personally by Lisa, Pablo and owner John, after a number of years and welcomed back so warmly. A lovely lodge perched on the side of the hill with fabulous views of the mountain.
Lots of stairs which can be a bit daunting at the end of a full day skiing or biking.
Great service with a smile.
Best food on the mountain.
Bar and restaurant are closed Monday and Tuesday.
