Melaleuca

Have a reservation! We found this restaurant on Google map and being it was close enough to our hotel we decided to give it a go. It was early and we didn't have a reservation but they seated us with a time restriction. We shared oysters for our first course. They were buttery and delicious. I had the lamb shank with root vegetables. The lamb melted in my mouth, the sauce perfectly executed. My girlfriend had the pan seared barramundi. Also perfectly executed. For dessert we shared the dessert trio, textures of chocolate, mango cheesecake, and citrus cloud. All of which were delicious. Absolutely worth going here!

Stunning! Just stunning! We had an absolutely lovely meal! The service was exceptional and the food equally as good. The wait staff really made the difference though, very attentive and friendly. A perfect night spent with friends and family! If you’re in port Douglas I couldn’t recommend this place any higher!

My husband and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary there. Staff were amazing, food was absolutely delicious and well presented. We loved our entire experience 💕

What an amazing restaurant!! Ellie (our designated waitress) was so friendly, patient and attentive that made our experience 100 times better than expected. Shannon and Ellie were so kind to sing happy birthday to my partner and brought some sparkling candles without asking, which was so kind of them. The food… Speechless!! Ellie knew the menu so well and recommended the special of the day (tuna with a veggie salad so so good), the tataki was 10/10, the slow cooked lamb was so delicious! Everything marvelous. 100% recommended and definitely the best restaurant in PD :)))

We prebooked to eat here as it looked fantastic, and it certainly didn’t let us down. The atmosphere was lovely and my wife and I had Barramundi dishes, hers pan fried and mine was a whole baby fish. Both were amazing and with a lovely bottle of Chardonnay between us, we had the perfect meal. We were seated beside the 200 year old mango tree just to make the evening perfect.

Delicious, coeliac safe food in a lovely location. Highly recommend the red curry tiger prawns and any Morten bay bug dishes.

Service here was a little chaotic, but there's no questioning the food.
The oven roasted bugs and char grilled prawns were magnificent, and the dessert was pretty good too.
It's also a nice setting - a lovely old extended veranda with views across the road to the old church and the ocean.

OMG. Melaleuca is an absolute must. We went for lunch today, told our waitress we had all afternoon free, and our meal was spaced out to perfection. We had a medley of oysters and the scallops as entree, pan seared barramundi and seafood linguini as main, then the textures of chocolate and the coconut, mango and lemon sorbet for dessert, together with a beautiful Italian Pinot Grigio. Delicious is an understatement. Everything, every bite of every dish was simply beautiful. Staff were friendly and obliging. Loved it and would absolutely ( already have ) recommend. Thank you for a beautiful meal.

Ordered prawns, pork belly and moreton bay bug. Everything was so flavourful and delicious. One of the best meals I’ve had. Restaurant in a good location and beautifully decorated. Staff friendly and service was fast. Highly recommend eating here.

Wow. Everything we tasted tonight we could not fault. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. Between three of us, we shared 4 entrees, 2 mains and a desert feeling perfectly full by the end. I would recommend the kingfish ceviche and beef tataki. Each melted in your mouth with each bite. Mains we had the bugs and the scotch fillet both were extremely delicious. I would 100% come back again for more.

We ate at some lovely restaurants in Port Douglas including Nautilus. Whilst Nautilus May have the best setting I have to say Melaleuca had the best food! Considerably better priced too!

Melaleuca is an absolute 'must do' in Port Douglas.

Their food, staff and atmosphere was the best, and as good as any restaurant in the world that prides themselves on their product.

Such a magnificent menu, paired with a very diverse selection of wines from around the world. Our food was outstanding, the kitchen clearly puts in a lot of effort in selecting ingredients and dishes that compliment the seasons and the tropical location.

Our host was genuinely engaging and was helpful in discussing the various dishes and assisted with our wine selections. The menu made pairing recommendations as well.

Strong suggest booking, we did see a number of people unable to be seated at this very popular location.

Priced to please, and with a stunning tropical atmosphere, Melaleuca will not disappoint.

We celebrated my birthday with family and friends recently at Melaleuca. All
I can say is we had the most amazing experience! The food was phenomenal and the wait staff really made the difference, the were all (not just one) very attentive and friendly with attention to detail (cold towels for everyone on a hot day/ entertaining the kids so we could eat)- they made our day! And of course we had to go back again for dinner there! It’s rare to find a restaurant with such exceptional food and service- highly recommend!!

Amazing!! Best food in Port Douglas. Highlights are the oysters, steak and red curry with the Moreton Bay Bugs! We will be back.

We loved dining at Melaleuca. The staff were attentive, friendly & professional, the location is perfect, with a lovely outlook over the water and tables are nicely spaced.
We enjoyed every dish ordered which was bread with maple butter, king fish ceviche and the chicken liver pate for entree, Morton Bay bugs and whole baby barramundi for main and textures of chocolate for dessert. Overall an amazing dining experience worth every cent.

The food was excellent and well priced for the quality. Staff were friendly and very obliging and the atmosphere was great as well. Will definitely be back and recommend to any visiting the area.

The food here was delicious, we enjoyed the Scallops, Pork Belly and the Eye Fillet. Followed up with the Citrus Cloud and the Textures of Chocolate for dessert.

The restaurant was fully booked, but didn't feel crowded. There was beautiful ambience, with an airy & open feel.
Great food. Good value. Most of all amazing service. Our waitress, Victoria was intuitive, attentive & had an attention to detail rarely seen anymore.
