Cafe China On Mulgrave Road

Food was great. My friend recommended this place for lunch. Totally worthed a visit.
Would recommend laksa curry noodle, and nasi goreng.

This took some thinking to review and give 5 stars. If you want the best Chinese food in Cairns and don’t care about atmosphere or decor come here. Unassuming and situated in the carpark of a service station on a busy highway, with the most basic of seating and decor you would not think this place would rate. But cafe china easily has the best Chinese food to be found in Cairns and possibly the east coast. I’m yet to find a better Singapore noodles anywhere and while it’s a well known fact Australia’s best laksas are in Darwin, the laksa here is as good as I’ve had and that’s why Cafe China gets 5stars. My suggestion is to grab it takeaway and head down the esplanade.

Finally found the best Chinese food in town!
My first order, combination fried noodles and it was delicious! The seafood was fresh, roast pork,fresh veggies and love the dry noodles! Service was good, friendly team and fun set up outside. Coming back and saved in my speed dial.

I was reading reviews for laksa and came here from the ratings. I can say it did not disappoint. Although I ordered the laksa combination and added roasted duck for an additional $6.90, I can say the soup was so delicious I could eat it simply plain without any garnishes - it was that delicious! The broth was well seasoned with depth and balanced with a creamy coconut consistency. I also loved that the ambiance of the restaurant was friendly, welcoming and felt like a family-run business. Would not hesitate to return again, have to say one of the best laksas I’ve had.

We have been going Cafe China for years. Always friendly and good taste. Very Hong Kong style roasted duck and pork, steamed dim sums, authentic Singaporean Char Kwai Teow…..so much more..great prices! Thank you Cafe China!

Pork cutlet laksa was remarkable. Will be back to try more from the menu.

Walked over looking for a quick bite, the food is so delicious I came back every day I was in Cairns. Absolutely incredible flavors—without doubt the best laksa I’ve ever eaten. Only wish I could eat everything on the menu!!

Very yummy, convenient, variety of choices and really Chinese foods! Love it the price are also reasonable. Everything just perfect and nothing to be picked. Love the roasted duck!!!!!!

The best Chinese in Cairns! It is located on the block of a service station but Cafe China is amazing. The food is fantastic. Atmosphere is cheap and small but the food is soooo worth it. Grab yourself some easy, take-home, authentic Chinese food for family to say, “where the hell did you get this?!”

Great Hong Kong style food! Amazing homemade BBQ pork! Probably the best in Cairns!

I had a great meal here. The prices are very fair and affordable. It was really busy, but I got my meal very quickly on a Saturday evening. I will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

A fantastic Chinese takeaway store with limited seating but a massive heart. We love the food here and return time and time again to experience the sensational innovative cuisine.

In Cairns for a fortnight from Bermagui NSW and found this gem last day for lunch - do not let the Cafe environment or the little bit out of town put you off - the food here is the best kept secret and I am so happy to write this review! Authentic laksa as good as I have had and reasonably priced - great menu - had 3 dishes and incredibly impressed - will be top of list next visit.

Stopped on the way to Cape. What a great little spot. Ample parking, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Plenty seats and very clean. Highly recommended and please try if you are in town. Will definitely be back.

I'm a bit devo that it is now the one and only Cafe China in town, but boy am I one happy individual knowing there is still at least one around.

I do wish they still had more spacious restaurants around as the car park can be quite tight and right up against the dining tables outside, but that is all but the slightest of issues.

One thing for certain is I always ensure to make at least one visit during my week off work to get my fix!

What keeps me there is the signature flavours in their Laksa - nothing else I have ever tried comes close in comparison.

Highly recommended if you are a Laksa fan and want your taste buds throwing down in delight. 👌

OMG! Had the spicy combination laksa for dinner and was one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back tomorrow before I fly out of Cairns on Wednesday. Thank you for such beautiful food and how do you do it for under $20.

Our usual go to Chinese spot in town. Prices are good and the variety of dishes should allow everyone to find something to their taste. Seating in the AC is limited so book a table. Lots of alfresco dining outside. Parking on street or in front.
