Gilligan's Hotel & Resort

Epic place to cool off and get away from the public pools of cairns.
This pub had a great vibe and pools the kids could swim in.
No food, but that's fine as we went during the week, but there is a great night market 5min walk you can get all sorts of food from.

All in all, we had a ball. The kids were sorted in the pools, and the place had music, sport, and ample seating.

Amazing vibe in the club! Few stages, very low prices on drinks! 5* for Inkeri, juggling 5 customers at a time! What a staff! Keep it up guys, doing a great job! 👏

I gotta say this nightclub exceeded my expectations. Great sound system and vibe. Very diverse crowd, informal, some people wearing costumes, everyone just dancing and having a good time. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. It is an attraction on its own, worth checking it out.

I visited this place a couple of times for drinks and I liked the vibe. It reminds me of my Erasmus experience. The drinks are quite cheap and there is plenty of space to sit, socialize, and dance.

Great party hostel! The rooms are clean. The kitchen space is big and there is plenty of communal space. Met some great people here! If you're a girl I'd suggest the female dorm rather than mixed.

The best part is the pool bar. The Gilligan's Sunday session is the best! My favourite day of the week in Cairns.

Music plays until late - 3am - so if you want a good night of sleep, ask for a room on the street side of the building!

Great place to stay and loved ‘The Attic’ as well the main bar in Gilligan’s! The accomodation is really nice and affordable. The different vibes between the attic, main bar and deck/ beach bar essentially means you have 3 in 1 which I enjoyed if I wanted a change in scene. The staff were all accomodating and friendly. Perfectly located for all your needs whilst staying in Cairns.

This is more like a hotel converted into a backpacker hostel. Each room has it's own ensuite and the building quality is top notch.
The common kitchen is very useful but it can get grimmy as many people are using it.
The balcony is very large and accessible, with table and chairs, but there's no facilities to hang clothes.
It's worth the price and it's right in the middle of Rusty's market which opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Parking is also available at Rusty's. (The hostel, pub, restaurant, market, carpark are owned by the same company).
Definitely a good place if you just want to explore the CBD area.

This is my first hostel stay, but Gilligan's set the bar.

Decent rooms they clean daily and make sure the backpackers don't let it get too crazy.

The night life is phenomenal, different theme nights every night, good music, good food.

The travel and excursions counter up front can hook you up with anything and everything exciting around Cairns and beyond.

I had the time of my life because of Gilligan's.

Took a walk through got a drink and by the look of it, they have everything what a place very nice friends staff people .every night something different wow a place you have to go .
And even book to stay pool bar relax and stay

Ive stayed at gilligans many times, this was the first stay where the music/DJ kept me awake which was frustrating personally.
I would love to gove a shout out the the blond girl who works the late night shift as she is amazing and has always taken care of me.
In the past i rang up and booked directly and everytime i spoke to her she was able to place me in a quieter sode of the hostel. Which i always appreciated.

She is an amazing worker.

Haven't stayed in the rooms but the drinks are great and affordable, the staff are friendly but the cheesy bacon bites are to die for!!!

Great party hostel. Clean rooms. Socket near bed. Large kitchen space and communal space. Pool bar.

I stayed here a while ago but it was one of the best hostels I stayed in. It's a big party hostel and if you want a quiet night don't stay here. The rooms and shower are clean. It can be a bit cold in the room. The location is perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful with information about activities in and around Cairns. The parties at this place are crazy! Great music, atmosphere and good cocktails. Like I said if you want a quiet night don't come if you want party this is the place to be! Happy travels

Good place to stay as a traveller. Always fun, looks good, bars huge. Music is pretty generic but who really gives one 🤣

Not as loud as people make it out to be from rooms. Sliding doors do their job

Super clean rooms, every room has an en suite, very comfy beds, excellent air condition, a kitchen on each floor that is constantly being cleaned, great location and lots of events. The staff are all really friendly and helpful too.

One of the best Hostels I’ve been to. Rooms are clean, charging at the bed, separate Shower & Toilet, room is cleaned everyday. Kitchen is good equipped, not crowded, clean, enough storage places. Nice places to chill during the day: inside& outside. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good hostel for party (can get quite noise if you don’t want to party). Fair prices for room and drinks. Can definitely recommend!

Don’t go to the club on Saturday! To fu*king crowded!!!

Great atmosphere, an awesome place to relax n have a cocktail poolside during the day. Then party on into the night with entertainment and music to get the dance moves happening

Perfect hostel if you are a backpacker! They host events and parties almost every night, there is a kitchen you can use and the staff great.
