Such a nice place with a good atmosphere. Dave, the owner, is so nice and welcoming. We had a lovely chat with him and he gave us some good tips on what to do in Katoomba on a rainy day. On top of that the coffee was really really good! Thanks, Dave and all the best 🙌🏼

We happened to stumble upon this hidden gem on a cold and foggy morning. Entering the venue we were greeted by the owner who is friendly and warm and the definition of just a carefree and easygoing bloke.

For coffee lovers, this is a place that you want to visit. The coffee tasted woody, smooth and deep, but not sour or too bitter. Imagine drinking a warm hug...

For people who love the atmosphere, this is a place where you can just feel at home. An old pub that's been refurbished and filled with history, trinkets and other odds and ends, it has an alluring atmosphere that's just able to make you relax. We came here on a Sunday where there is live music which only makes this place so much better. The fire place was amazing, the gentle smell of wood and smoke almost intoxicating, honestly the whole vibe of this place felt almost like a dream that we stumbled across.

We didn't order any food only had coffee but definitely will come again to experience this little place we call 'home'.

We stopped for a quick takeaway coffee & toasty. We chose option 2 & 3 which were so tasty!
The Barista is super friendly, I think his name was Dave (forgive me if it’s not).
He recommended Katoomba falls & a restaurant in town, super knowledgeable about where to go & what to see.
Coffee was the best coffee I’ve had in a while.
10/10 recommend both takeaway & dine in as it’s a super warm and cosy vibe inside.

It was the Gearin Hotel, now a developing rustic cafe, but never mind it's title. This location is and has been for the last 12 years I've lived here, the only place you can go to discover the authentic characters and character of Katoomba. Meet the true locals, whose hospitality and disregard for outside perception allows the humble, honest and beautiful artistry and soul of the area to be expressed.

A fantastic place with extremely good coffee and an ice cream so incredibly it's unbelievable. Loved the atmosphere with a lot of character and the very friendly owner. I feel like I shared so much more than coffee and ice cream. Very soulful place.

Very special and unique place with a extraordinary friendly Barista. One of the nicest people we met on our roadtrip. Every corner is different and you should definitely have a look around and appreciate the details! Beside of that, truly the best coffee we had in Australia. Luckily there was a local band playing their songs. If we could give more than five stars, we definitely would!

We wandered in to On the Soul Side Cafe, after a long day of traveling from Melbourne. We were treated to the best coffee we've had in Australia crafted by Australian Juan Valdez.

Just ordered a humble flat white and toasty from Dave which were great, but the real treat was the chat with the man himself. The man has stories, and you just feel happier when you leave his cafe. Cheers Dave.

The coffee is fantastic. The brag about the best coffee for the next 1,000 miles might seem like hyperbole but this coffee can compete with some of the best in Melbourne.

Old mate who owns it is friendly and good for a yarn. The decor is very eclectic and vintage.
He also will do random lunch specials so the menus people post here may not reflect what is available on the day.

David is very nice and he put effort to engage with his customer. More power to you mate! All the best to your business. Hopefully you will have more people to run your business so you can travel more! 🙂☕

Dave, the owner, makes an effort to make us feel warm and comfortable. Knowing that we were not used to the cold, he even set up the fireplace for us. Perfect bacon and eggs rolls with coffee, cozy interior design and music too. Absolutely love this place! Definitely will return in my next trip!

Great little coffee shop in an old pub. Coffee is fab. The guy that owns it is a great character. Definitely visit if you are in the area.

Our mistake of turning too soon into Goldsmith Place, Katoomba instead of the main drag, lead us, to discover the best coffee and toasty’s in the world. Don’t believe me coffee lovers, give it a go.

From the minute that we walked in, Dave made us feel incredibly welcome.
We grabbed a seat by the fireplace and enjoyed our hot chocolates and coffee, all of which were outstanding.

Great coffee at a decent price, and usually a homemade biscuit or snack is available. A good conversation is always available, too, and sometimes live music.
