Hunters Quarter

Went here recently, the food and service was exceptional ... a little out of season so wasn't jam packed but it started filling up during my booking. Would recommend prior booking to be on the safe side. Lovely deck to sit out on looking out over wine groves and duck pond. If you want to fly there, there is a helicopter pad next door and there's a cellar door too if you fancy a wine tasting first. When booking there's also details of local driving companies, should you need. 10 out of 10. Will be returning.

Excellent dinner experience with creative and tasty dishes. Friendly staff and in an excellent atmosphere (we initially say indoors but then moved outdoors, which was really amazing)

We also celebrated our anniversary on Valentine’s Day and the staff made sure that it felt like a special day. Best dinner in hunter valley we had!

Best dinner in the Hunter over the last few years. Service was very attentive and the wait staff had great knowledge of both food and wines. Service was a higher level then most other restaurants in the Hunter where if you leave your table your napkin is folded and placed for your return, which is a lost art in fine dining. Each meal was presented beautifully and cooked to request. Seating both in and on the deck provided open views to the vineyards and dam with a backdrop of rolling hills which you don’t get anywhere.

One surprising thing was at booking you are asked if it is a special occasion which we entered anniversary. A little something like a complimentary drink or cupcake would have topped the night off rather then a casual mention of happy anniversary by the way as we walked out the door, this was comical because why ask the question at booking in the first place. All aside a sensational meal & great service !

Beautiful food, service and aspect. Cooking and presentation done to a high standard though I found my dessert a touch overly sweet.

Understandably a very busy and popular restaurant which we'd happily book again.

Had a great date night here. The setting was pretty and calm, food was scrumptious and the service was attentive. The sommelier helped us discover a wine we enjoyed so much we ordered a second bottle. The beef fillet in particular was incredible - one of the best I've had. We'll definitely look to return next time we're back in the region.

Very nice restaurant with wonderful service and very high quality food. There is a 5 course or 3 course option. Views across the dam and the vines are beautiful.

We had a great experience here. Food was perfection, service was perfection, staff very friendly and on their A game. Would most definitely recommend 10/10.

Every dish was tasty and portions were generous. Service was amazing, Boris is a top waiter!! It is also a locals hotspot which makes the vibe super friendly, and says a lot about the quality of the food and service. Will definitely return!

A superb long slow Sunday lunch

The views are outstanding as you drive up to the Pooles Rock vineyard & prepares you for the great experience coming up. We were warmly greeted & shown to our outdoor table facing the water hole surrounded by rolling hills & vineyards. Peaceful, serene & simply breath taking - it was a view that transports you to somewhere like Tuscany (in my mind!). Lunch is straightforward at $110/head for 3 courses. The menu has a nice variety & we spent time mulling over the interesting options while sipping on a nice bubbly. Overall the food that arrived was excellent. Delicious, fresh & the chef knows his cooking technique well, allowing the food to stand out whilst enhancing it with just the right flavours, spices & combinations. Everything was simply so well put together. The portions though not overly large was just right for a long lunch & we left without feeling bloated! Service is professional & helpful. The staff truly seemed to want you to just sit back, relax & enjoy the experience. The wonderful views served as the perfect backdrop. Highly recommend this place but reservations are necessary (there is a waitlist!)

I recently photographed a wedding at Hunters Quarter and I just loved it. It was only a relatively small wedding with two long tables and a head table and it worked perfectly. It was modern and very elegant, the staff were very friendly and helpful. And the food looked amazing.
Hopefully I will get to go back soon as it is a great space that couples will love for their wedding day.

Food was excellent. Our mains of the duck & Pork are worthy of a special mention. All dishes were beautifully plated by the reputable Chefs. Boris our waiter was very professional. He is an asset to the restaurant. Keep up the good work. $110 p/h was well worth!

Really lovely welcoming staff in a beautiful setting. Food was amazing. Between us we had the crab and the feta entrees and the salmon and the duck for mains. Pretty and really tasty food.

We had a fantastic night in Hunters Quarter! If you are looking for a restaurant with lovely staff, excellent food and service in a beautiful location and that also welcomes guests of all ages and dietary requirements then look no further - Hunters Quarter is it! It is now a rarity in the Hunter region to be able to visit a fine dinning place and also be able to bring kids (on a well priced and delicious kids menu!) and to be able to celebrate with the whole family and friends - we will definitely be back!

Beautiful place for fine dining, loved the outdoor seating area. The food was delicious, couldn't have asked for more on beautiful sunny day. Dessert is must try. They have separate kids menu with vegetarian option.
