Hunter Valley Resort + Farm

My wife and I had a wonderful two night stay. Rooms were air conditioned cooled and recently renovated with new furniture. The bed extremely comfortable, King Koil King. TV was very small, the size of a computer monitor which was our only disappointment. Breakfast was a short walk to the 4 Pines hotel and was sensational. Eggs Benedict with smashed avocados.

I've given this 5 stars as the overall experience was worth 5 stars. We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival we were a little apprehensive as the room seemed a little tired, but on looking around we found little touches that would not have been out of place in a top hotel. This is the first hotel on our journey around Australia that has provided biscuits and two comfy chairs. Room was large, bed extremely comfy, yes TV was a little small but ok. You are provided with a wine experience and tasting, which was really informative. Food and drink is of good quality and reasonably priced. All staff really friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while trying wines around hunter valley. Would certainly recommend and do it again.

The facilities, restaurant, bar and cellar door were impressive and new. They were well staffed with helpful happy staff. The menu was slightly limited for veggies, but I ate and enjoyed.

The wine tasting was very good,run by an incredibly helpful man. He also helped us sort out why we would do for our time in hunter valley.

The rooms were very comfortable and we loved that they had dvds available to borrow. Reception staff very good.

I have a slightly nagging doubt that it will be this amazing during weekdays, and it might be very busy at weekends (they’re certainly set up for it). Moral - avoid the weekends?

We were a corporate group of 9 pax who had a wonderful overnight stay. The soft linens in the rooms are top quality, what you'd expect in a 5 star city hotel. And the bed was extremely comfortable.

The views to the vineyards are peaceful and the fact that there is so much to do on site makes this Resort quite unbeatable.

I hope to visit again.

Great stay here and was our first time there since they built the new buildings. It looks amazing. The farm was closed at that time but we walked past and had a look. Would definitely stay again. Great with kids as they played Lego while we had a tasting. Food was nice too in a lovely clean new building.

Room was great, services great too... Even the facilities are great enough to just stay without going out of the premises. Just a bit further from the nearest shopping centre. My tips is to bring your own mineral water if you worry about the taste of their tap water.

All the conveniences you need for a great stay, plus fun activities to do. Great location too! Food was unreal - and cheap!

This place was amazing! Room was large and spacious, with the most comfortable bed ever. The location was great, and so quiet. Had the best sleep I've had in years.

Room was dated but that didn't bother us, it was spacious, clean and came with individual outdoor seating. Had a fridge & kettle, also got a ten dollar food/drinks voucher for opting for green (ie not changing sheets as only there two nights)
We got a free wine tasting presented by a lovely, friendly, very knowledgeable girl. Staff were very friendly, especially a man from ireland who we never got his name!
The vineyard had amazing views, and had a farm which is great for both adults and children to take a walk around. Walking distance to one other lovely winery across the road. Would Defo visit again if in hunter valley! Thanks for the stay!

Great place to stay, I’ve stayed twice now and will be back again. Great location to all the wineries. Love the farm with the Ostriches. Highly recommend !!!

Well... when we booked in, the service was ordinary, we almost contemplated driving home to sydney.

But we stayed...

Dinner was amazing, wine tour was so informative, best we have done.

Then breakfast, well the breakfast package... the restaurant didn't know what we were talking about.

Sadly we wont be rushing back, might see if we can have a better experience in the valley.

But I have to say, the winery and wine education section was amazing.

We stayed here back in 2022 and we went here for the horse back riding recently. Place was getting an upgrade. So many farm animals that my kids like. Might stay here again in the future.

We had a fabulous and relaxing time at the Hunter Valley Resort. The food was excellent. The tour of the winery, wine making film and wine tasting were all informative and very enjoyable. The Segway Tours based right next to the Resort were brilliant fun and we saw kangaroos for the first time during our tour.

This is our 3rd stay at the Resort and we just loved it. The meals we had at the bistro were excellent and of the highest quality. Service staff were friendly and very efficient.
We highly recommend the wine appreciation seminar and the tasting which followed was excellent. The sommelier was very experienced and provided high quality advice and information on the wines we sampled.
We will be returning at some point for a 4th stay and we highly recommend Hunter Valley Resort as a great place to stay.

Hunter Valley Resort has everything you need for a great stay. Fantastic, affordable but wonderful cottages and rooms, phenomenal wines with an awesome educational tasting by Terry, which was a highlight for us, great food at the 4Pines, plus farm walks, Segway tours, a pool. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't get to use it all, but you could easily just spend a day at the resort alone. It's centrally located so you only spend 5 to 10 minutes driving around to get to all the highlights like the gardens, shopping village, every other winery, excellent food, everything. I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Also, if you plan to do a group getaway, book the cottages, there are only a few (4 I think) but they're secluded and you can all hang out together. We really love this place

I recently photographed a beautiful wedding at Hunter Valley Resort. Firstly the location is amazing. It is located in one of the most picturesque locations in the Hunter Valley. On Mistletoe Lane which has vines and vineyards as far as the eye can see.

There is accommodation onsite which is perfect for wedding preparations in the morning. The ceremony takes place on the lawn. And the busy restaurant during the day, converts into a lovely wedding reception at night. Great place.
