The welcome and service at Winterhause by Julie & Grant was very warm and friendly.
The upgrade to a room with a fridge was a welcome addition to a lovely three day stay during the Blues Festival. The breakfast each day is to a high standard with all the necessary ingredients to start the day.
The views over the Thredbo Valley from the rooms is wonderful. A recommended accommodation for all visitors to the resort.

The hosts simply couldn't do enough for me. The room was small but I HIGHLY recommend this place. I will definitely be back.

We got a family room to share with my partner and I. Plenty of space and own private bathroom. Reality is you will only really use the room to rest most likely so I'm not fussed with things like the size of the TV though I think it's great the room has one and it works well with all channels. Rooms are heated perfectly and the temperature is comfortable especially after coming back from the summit soaked head to toe!
My partner and I appreciate the complimentary breakfast which included bacon and eggs, yoghurt and various cerials and bread/butter and other spreads. Note if you're a big eater you might want to have a few sandwiches on stand by from the service station because depending on how many guests are at Winterhaus you can't just help yourself to 6+ eggs everyday which is totally fair enough. Just a heads up if you wana smash 2000 calories for breakfast before 8 hours of hiking. The people running the place are brilliant and polite. Lovely to talk to over breakfast and the common lounge is a nice place to kick back after a hike and provides complimentary tea in the evenings. We didn't purchase a parking spot for Winterhaus which I believe is $20 a day but that's alright if you don't mind walking about 15 minutes to your car. Just note it's at the bottom of Thredbo Village (the car park) and you'll be hiking uphill to get back to Winterhaus which is situated right at the top. Personally I liked the extra hiking and exercise. The owners were kind enough to provide us with free parking for one night which made check in so so easy after a 9 hour drive to get to Thredbo! If you're coming from Melbourne my only advice on getting there is don't take the Barry Way if you're in anything except a 4WD. We took a sedan and made it but if something go's wrong there's no fuel, reception or in some cases cars for hours and hours and there's plenty of potholes and wildlife. Winterhaus was awesome and when we come back to the area we will definitely check Winterhaus first for availability again!

We came for a long weekend and it was an extraordinary place. The view from our room was stunning with the whole view of Mount Kosciusko. The breakfast was abundant and delicious. Thank you so much Greg and rest of the staff for your kindness and hospitality.

The location is very good! Close to the ski lift, Gandola and most the restaurants. They serve free breakfast and is good. The rooms and beds are clean. The toilet is well maintained. We could see the Saturday fireworks from our room window. It is recommended to book parking in advance over weekend. The public parking is almost 1km far.

We loved this place! Great sized rooms, clean and comfy. We had our own ensuite with a HAIRDRYER!! It was the best part as we had been travelling for a week.
The common lounge and dining area has a great view of the hills.
The breakfast was free and great with a variety! The guy took care of the place is a machine but served all of us with always a smile on his face.
Would definitely go back in winter!

Stayed for three nights mid june with young children and had a warm and welcoming stay. The cooked breakfast each morning was delicious and served by very lovely and attentive staff. No bar fridge in our room but they have a large fridge in the dining room for guests to use. Room was always warm and beds were comfy. Beautiful views from our windows. Check in and out was quick and easy.

Stoked to be able to stay right in the middle of Thredbo at Winterhaus this year!!
Great location, perched high up with fantastic views of the mountain. Older building however kept immaculately clean and with loads of charm, character and a good vibe. Very comfortable accomodation, kept toasty warm and the most amazing breakfast served every morning. Thanks to Greg and his crew for a great holiday.

Last minute booking for a weekend getaway and it didn't dissapoint. The view was wonderful from the balcony, even though its not yet heavily snowing the scenery was beautiful. So relaxing, the air was fresh and clean and the town people were lovely. Greg went above and beyond in offering a great stay experience. Thank you! Will definitely be back again.

The best! Definitely felt more like staying at Jackie and Matt's place than at a hotel. Super friendly and welcoming service from two absolutely first class humans.
The place itself is great. Amazing views, right in the village and super clean and cosy. Highly recommend

We are a family of 4 and the one bedroom room 10 was perfect. Comfortable Accommodation with an awesome fireplace in the common room, ideal for lazing around whilst sipping on a muscat. The location was great as the free bus 1 was directly down the stairs and approx 3 mins to the main chairlift or approx 5 to Friday flats. The drying room downstairs was ideal and perfectly located upon your return back to the lodge, Also includes a locker for all gear. Breakfast every morning was great, also included. Greg and the staff were so hospitable, and would always help out in any way. I suggest you book a reserve parking spot which is $20 per night but definitely convenient especially if you have a lot of stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Winterhaus Lodge to friends and family. Certainly we will return.

Amazing view of the slopes, breakfast was first class (no need to go a cafe with their cooking). Nice common room with fire, clean amenities. Room and corridors and a little tight, but definitely recommend.

Staff are very friendly and obliging. Rooms are very clean. Staff went out of their way multiple times for us when they were not expected to. They also permit cooking and provide utensils for this eg cutlery, microwave, fridge.
