I moved to Wagga 8 years ago and I've been back up here visiting people and decided to go to Il Volcano with my husband. And it was exactly the same beautiful food and lovely service. Hubby was very impressed.

Has been several years since last here, the place looks exactly the same and the food.is still exceptional. Friendly staff, good pricing and amazing food. Is byo so crack a bottle and enjoy!

Genuine European food , just like your grandma makes. Wonderfully prepared food and really nice people. Not much of this stuff around anymore.

Just had our first experience at Il Volcano and will definitely be back we had the prawn and squid garlic entree it was beautiful we then had a pasta each so yummy and so much. Will definitely be back and will try the schnitzels they look huge and so yummy. Loved the relaxed and friendly feel of this place and value for money can't be beat

I've only ever had the Chicken Shnitty with Bolognaise sauce and it keeps me coming back, time after time.

A family atmosphere with the biggest and best schnitzel you have ever seen. The atmosphere and dining experience is truly unique and you must go there at least once but I am sure you'll return if you have an appreciation for restaurants that stay true to what/who they are and what they do best.

Amazing food, great proportions for your money. The people are really nice and there was great service. The place was fully booked but our food came out really quickly. If you do decide to go here you need cash as they don't take card. Would recommend to anyone.

A lovely little restaurant located near the Newcastle interchange. Being a long established family run business, the interior is decorated as quirky as you would hope it to be and is all part of the experience. You could be eating in the dining room of your grandma's home. All the food is a winner here. You can't go past their amazing schnitzels, however be prepared - they are a very large serve.

Relaxed kitschy friendly family oriented restaurant. Freshly made food that tastes great every time and good value for money.. and the biggest and best schnitzels in Newcastle! If you don't feel like a schnitzel, get the chicken Tropicana. That creamy sauce and rice is to die for.

Best resturant in the whole of Newcastle, the food is delicious, consistent and huge! Great variety and reasonably priced. The service is welcoming and on point! The decor is quite out dated but it adds to the authentic, welcoming feel of the place. It's always packed so be sure to book ahead and B.Y.O!

The pasta was well-priced, and the portion size was really big! We had the fettuccine with the creamy mushroom sauce (can't remember the name of the sauce) and the sauce was really delicious but not cloying, and the fettuccine itself had an amazing texture. Will definitely be back! :)

Need to make a reservation. Food is incredible! We always get a chicken schnitzel and are never disappointed, always delicious and very generous portion. BYO too. Highly recommend!

Love IL Volcano best garlic prawns & squid & spaghetti Sicilian I have ever had. Great food chicken snitzel is huge made by them fresh each day.

Great place to go for dinner. the atmosphere is great, very homie. Nice food, I had the chicken parmigiana, very nice and the serving sizes are huge, my Parma was about 20cm by 15cm round, amazing. I would recommend going here!

We came here after seeing reviews and comments about the schnitzel portions. When we’d ordered, we found out it was cash-only and had to walk to the nearest CBA ATM. When I got back, I found that not only had they prepared and served our meal without payment, they also gave us free drinks that I’d asked for but hadn’t paid for! I prize customer service above many other things, and this place has it. Wish they’d take card payments though!!

Holy smokes! This place is a pure treasure. Stop reading this review and go. The kitchy interior makes you feel like you're in grandmas house. The food is generous in size and well priced too. BYO and cash only so rember to bring it along. We dined with 7 of us and we all had great quality food and were delightfully suprised at the Supli balls.

absolutely amazing food!! the snittys are absolutely amazing and bigger then my head!!! the serving size is huge and you absolutely get what you pay for. the service is amazing and the people are so lovely

First time diners- food was amazing, decor not so much. Great prices considering meals were so large we ate the leftovers for dinner the next night. Highly recommended !
