Nice walk, if you’re in Newcastle you should definitely make time to fit this in and enjoy the sea breeze why walking along the boardwalk. If you have time you can also head down to the beach and explore some of the nearby cafes etc

Nice walk with photos and information on the Anzac memorial. I did the entire coastal walk from Nobbys Lighthouse down to Merewether beach - most of the walk has fantastic views, similar to most other coastal walks on the NSW coast. Highly recommend this walk.

Newcastle Memorial Walk is a poignant journey that seamlessly weaves together natural beauty and historical reflection. As you ascend the elevated path along the coastline, the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean unfold, creating a serene backdrop that complements the solemn purpose of the walk.

The memorial plaques that line the pathway serve as poignant reminders of the sacrifices made by Australian soldiers in various conflicts. Each plaque tells a unique story, contributing to the collective narrative of bravery and commitment to duty. The juxtaposition of the serene coastal landscape with the weight of history creates a contemplative atmosphere, inviting visitors to reflect on the profound impact of war.

The architectural design of the walk is not only functional but also harmonizes with the rugged coastal environment. It's a thoughtful integration that enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in both nature and history. Sunset transforms the scene, casting a warm glow on the ocean and adding an extra layer of beauty to this already significant memorial.

Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a connection to history, or simply a moment of reflection, the Newcastle Memorial Walk offers a multifaceted experience that resonates with locals and visitors alike. It stands as a living tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, set against the backdrop of Newcastle's stunning coastal vistas.

Beautiful and respectful walk. Bonus was seeing a pod of dolphins. Heaps for parking at the bottom end but you need to climb quite a few stairs. Park at the top end and you go do the majority of the walk and best views without any steps making it accessible. Downside is limited parking close by but there are two disabled parks.

Stunning bit of coastline! 🌊 There are some stairs, but it's worth it.

This walk reminds me of the Bondi to Manly walk in Sydney near Dover Heights, epic cliff views that spill out onto a beach.

Great history info along the Anzac Bridge. And have a coffee at Swell at the end! ☕

Stunning walk, especially at sunset. Take your time and read about some of the history of the area. Be prepared for some stairs, and note that dogs are not allowed.

This is a must do if you’re visiting Newcastle. This was a donation from BHP because of their strong connection over the years with the city and the steel works. It’s a wonderful tribute to our Anzac soldiers who fought so hard to give us this wonderful country. Part of the bathers way, a footpath spanning from Merewether to Nobbys and reinventing the old Steel city into the city of beaches

Fantastic walk along the cliff tops. Excellent views to sea (pun intended)
The wind was so strong today it ripped my wig off. If I don’t get it back there will be hell to pay.

Easy walk with spectacular views. If you park in the carpark walk up the pathway to get to the top then finish the walk down the stairs.

Park your car here, you can walk on both sides, one side is the city view and the other is the sea view, you must come here to enjoy this view, you can walk up to the other end to see the sea.

Great place to take pictures for your girl.

It is very easy to park here, there is a small parking lot and there are many places on the road.
