The Lucky Hotel

Great location and reasonable price. Accommodation was clean and the floors had a huge collection of historical photos. The free chocolate pretzel was tasty. Room size was bit small, but cozy. Really liked the casting option on the TV.

Wonderful hotel at a perfect location to explore Newcastle city. My son and I stayed on our road tour from Sydney to Brisbane. Nice rooms, great bar and cool outside seating on sand - right in the city centre. I came back later with a colleague for a research project and can only recommend the super friendly staff to arrange a nice place for us to conduct our interviews.
Great place and for sure a hotel to return to next time I come to Newcastle.

I recently had my birthday dinner here with a group of 10 friends. What an absolute diamond of a place! I loved the decor, there was enough space around tables that we could hear each other and the food was brilliant (and reasonably priced).
They also allowed me to bring cakes and didn't charge us a cakeage fee.

Beautiful room with some nice colourful cups and comfy bed. Great location close to the wharf and the beach.
The personal really attentive and they even give us the opportunity to make the check in before 2pm because it was Christmas.
Totally recommend and for sure I will come back.

Everything I tried here was fantastic, including the food and selections from the bar. The service was also as good as it gets (very friendly, efficient and professional).
The vibe inside is also really nice. I dined in a sort of courtyard with exposed brickwork, steel frames, neon signs, fairly lights, vines, plants, colourful lighting and so much seating. I'll be back.

Had lunch here the other day and was blown away by the quality of the food. A great undercover area out the back makes for a great outdoor dining experience. Positioned in the heart of the CBD of Newcastle so parking is the only negative

I can not rate the service I received while eating here high enough!! I am a coeliac and the staff not only made sure my dietary needs were met but they went above and beyond to cater for me at a banquet style lunch. I was blown away by the amount of food I received which was all prepared separately and served to me with mention of it being coeliac safe. It is amazing (and so refreshing!) when us coeliacs can enjoy dining out without worrying about contamination and becoming sick. Many places could learn from you guys when it comes to dietary requirements/food allergies. Excited to visit again soon !!! Thank you thank you thank you 🙏

We had contactless check-in since we arrived Christmas day and left the next morning, and it was great. Charming place, nice accommodations, no complaints. Really appreciate allowing us to check in and out, as many other hotels in that area required multiple day stays instead.

Although parking can be a bit competitive I currently have a Disability parking permit… and certainly was LUCKY! Since we got parking right outside the hotel - and were able to stay there all weekend - for Newcastle Jazz Fest. And although room was comfortable my partner would have appreciated more detail for the Room Air Con Unit controller. And I would have appreciated a small table on BOTH sides of bed.

A guy named Josh Glasheen was so helpful in helping me pick the perfect cocktail and did not disappoint. He was polite and friendly and I 100% recommended. Thanks again Joshua

Ended up at the Lucky Hotel as the Mercure and Ibis were fully booked, but I can say with certainty that I will only be staying at the Lucky Hotel from now onwards. Great location, amazing accommodation and amenities! Bree at the front desk was outstanding, she was so helpful and accommodating! Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed for a night (Great room)
Had a beautiful dinner, the chef was awesome.
Enjoyed beer's and wine.
Also a big win on the pokies made our night.
Parking wasn't a issue, we got one right outside on Crown St, the meter was out of order and the parking ranger said to us, you guys are LUCKY.....punt the name

Excellent meal. There was a minor problem with the length of time some of the meals came out but staff could not have been more helpful and made it right. Great night. Thank you

Disabled friendly with lifts up to the room friendly staff all round in that place I also ate there in the beautiful beer garden the food 5 stars the rooms are beautiful and the company they use for soap shampoo etc wow I had T2 tea which was in the room I had two sleepy teas which gave me a great night sleep I didn't want to leave best place to stay in Newcastle close to shops and transport

My friend and I had a meal on the weekend and the food was amazing. I had the swordfish and they had a lobster mac and cheese. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. Paired with good beers and a pleasant atmosphere it was a very enjoyable lunch.

Stopped in for quick beer while waiting for light rail. Nice place good atmosphere 👌. Bartender was nice considering they were right on closing.

It has always been a great experience, either for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere, the food and service is great.

Surprisingly comfortable and well supplied rooms. The toiletries provided were luxurious and the room was spacious for the price.

Would just like to extend a special thanks to the bartender Luke at the Lucky Hotel; his genuine enthusiasm and friendly demeanour made my visit truly exceptional!
