I don't know how I've lived in Ballarat so long without knowing about this kafeeneo. I had forgotten how soul-affirming Greek food could be, and this place did not disappoint.
Lunch was served quickly to our large table and the staff were brilliant. Can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu!

Excellent sandwich. A rare thing these days where no one butters anything any more. I had roast lamb and salad could not fault it.

I'm not overly familiar with Ballarat, but visited Frangos one night when I had to find dinner and was very impressed by the beautiful interior and authentic Greek menu. Loved that I could watch them preparing my meal from where I was sitting. I ordered a lasagna, Greek salad and blue heaven milkshake. The milkshake was huge and better than any I had as a kid, the salad was just like my dad would make it, and the lasagna was hot and deliciously soft. A satisfying and peaceful meal. I rarely eat out because high prices and poor quality food have turned me off cafes and restaurants, but Frangos was an exception. Pretty standard pricing for above standard food and drinks, in my opinion. Don't let any poor reviews turn you off. Some morons just don't appreciate genuine food. And if you've got a problem with the staff, all I can say is deal with it - I found them courteous enough. They're most likely just ticked off that people don't scrape their plates clean :) I can't wait for the opportunity to visit again as one meal was not enough and I was keen to try everything on the menu!

You don’t come to frangos to be pampered to and treated like a child. You come to Frangos to get down to business and enjoy some delicious food. No nonsense just good food.

Eating at Franco’s is a privilege. Pay homage to a Ballarat’s finest Greek establishment. Price is a bit steep on the souvlaki but it is godlike and the lamb is truly a piece of art. Even my colleague who is allergic to lamb braved the hives to enjoy this fine, succulent Greek meal.

Situated just west of Ballarat Central Myer, this restaurant is a real gem.

Brilliant food. Had King George Whiting. Absolutely superb. Bakalava was incredible. I’d be as fat as if I lived permanently in Ballarat. I’d have to visit on a more regular basis. WONDERFUL thank you

Authentic Greek food. Amazing lamb, real tzatziki (with extra garlic). One of the best moussakas I've had, including in Greece (born and raised). Strongly recommended!

My husband, kids and myself regularly stop in at Frangos and sons. It’s all of our favourite restaurant. The kids always love the milkshakes or orange juice, freshly squeezed just like everything else it’s made fresh in front of you. They have fantastic coffee, nice and strong just as we like it but if you don’t maybe take an extra sugar. The burgers are far better than all the ‘burger places’ in Ballarat. The Greek salad is really nice, hubby says the souvlaki is a must try! Great service by the owners, good prices an all round good experience. One thing to note is the toilets are not easily accessible if you are not able bodied.

AMAZING!!! Best dinner ever at this lovely place. Terry (one of the owners) - SO friendly. The food - my husband said the BEST lamb he's ever had! Mine - delicious salad. We came down to Ballarat for just 2 days - SO glad we chose this place. Will definitely return next time. DELICIOUS!

Good traditional Greek service and food. Never been to a good greek restaurant that doesn't have staff that can be seen as "rude".

We went for dinner there tonight. The best dips and souvlaki I have ever had.
Really impressed with the atmosphere and service.
The food is prepared fresh in front of your eyes.
No pre made salads. They make them as they go.
Will be going back.

Love Frangos - just a tip they serve the BEST Moussaka anywhere. Its the only thing I order because it's simply devine although all of the food looks just so appetising. The service is 'homely' and just makes you feel welcomed every time!

Leigh knows how to cook a steak , not like a few pubs I've been too, and good coffee!

By far my family's favourite and most haunted place to eat. We love the boys, who are always cracking a joke and a cheeky smile. The food is back to basic, home style (often cooked by their beautiful mum) Greek. Everything is fresh. EVERYTHING is good. Prices are great. Kids are welcome. The best fish with chips ever, and lamb chops that will send you broke if you take the kids...more more more... love you guys xxx

Found this greek restaurant. Cafe style seating offering fresh and delicious greek food. The owner served was helpful and had a genuine friendly smile. My friends had the lamb souvlaki and were impressed with the quantity and tenderness of the meat. I had the fish special and was just as impressed.
