I absolutely loved staying at Hadley’s on my first visit to Hobart - it won’t be my last. It’s perfectly located, within walking distance of just about everything, and very close to two Skybus stops in the city. Lots of excellent eating options within spitting distance, and the perfect base for exploring this unique destination.

I was so impressed by the hotel itself too, and especially by its staff. It’s a beautiful old hotel that has been impeccably maintained, but it is an OLD hotel, so it may not look modern, especially the bathrooms. I did not see this as a fault, however, it was just part of the deal. The room was charming and spotlessly clean, and housekeeping did a great job every time. Kellie and Anthony at reception were especially charming and helpful, but the whole team presented a friendly and attentive service.

I really hope to stay here again some time. It was truly an almost seamless and overwhelmingly positive experience x

This historic hotel was a great choice for us. We went back-and-forth on different hotels, and we made the right choice. Yes, the rooms are a bit small, but it ticked a lot of boxes for us. Very clean and comfortable, Great bathroom, really nice storage area for your luggage and clothes, beautiful quality, toiletries, Great location to walk to the seafront. Nice happy hour in the bar. And great friendly, helpful staff.

Cozy vintage Hotel, picturesque frames at its lounge telling its story and their guests, old style furniture, the lounge and bar with the music of the period among with pieces from the hotel old times. Great staff, gentle and friendly. 24 hour front desk reception. Variety of options for breakfast. Very clean and cozy room.

My friend and I had a most wonderful experience at Hadley’s high tea this afternoon, made all the more special by the outstanding service provided by our most charming hostess, Chelsea. She was just so lovely and attentive. This one’s a keeper - manager hold on to her! Everything was delectable and delicious and I would highly recommend Hadley’s high tea for its elegant ambience and old world charm. Again, a special shout out to the lovely Chelsea who made us feel extra special. 10 out of 10!!!

The staff at Hadley’s are so hardworking and genuinely caring people. They do a fantastic job of maintaining this beautiful old hotel and making guests feel welcome. The breakfasts were a highlight, as were happy hour gin and tonics in the bar. So much history, we felt like we were living in an Agatha Christie novel, although thankfully, no one was murdered. We loved our time staying at Hadley’s.

Impressive Victorian Era High Tea. Had the most gorgeous high tea here. You really are transported back in time with the atmosphere of a Victorian tearoom. We had the delightful Mt Wellington/Kunanyi blend from Art of Tea, which came in a very large Noritake teapot. Exceptional value for the price, which included the best scones ever with homemade berry jam and a thick cream flavoured with vanilla bean.

Excellent location, staff were so friendly, attentive and interested in your day. Very clean hotel and all staff very happy. Lovely art, bar, restaurant. It's a home away from home. Walked to all locations and public transport nearby. We will definitely return

A fantastic heritage hotel. Staff are wonderful, service great, hotel has a lovely ‘feel’ to it. Bar is great and they know how to make a good cocktail.
A small gripe - bed was too squishy. Bathroom was also tiny and the steam extraction was poor.

My mother and I stayed at the Hadley's for what ended up being three months due to unforeseen circumstances. The staff including the manager were so welcoming and friendly that we felt like they were family by the time we left! The hotel is gorgeous and the service was exceptional. We had the most wonderful experience, making our time in Hobart very special.

Many reviews say that’s an old hotel, agreed but this where its charm comes from. Rooms are very comfortable, big and nice beds, very clean everywhere. Location is convenient for exploring Hobart or to reach out to transport. Staff was helpful making all efforts for us to feel welcomed. Good food and well stocked bar. For us it was exciting to stay in such an historical building and dream of old times half frozen sailor’s luxury refuge.

The room is basically an apartment. Big living space. Comfortable bed. Bathroom with clean and working spa bath. The shower is tight. I love the traditional feeling of the place and they had a nice touch of a hotel newspaper. The only complaint my partner had was the curtains in the bedroom let too much light in.

We love this hotel, we have stayed here a few times while visiting Tasmania with our kids. We love all the history and the art. For us it's magic. High tea and Saturday live piano session with cocktails are highlights.

Beautiful premise! It feels like travelling back in time, and enjoying the mysteries of the hotel. The service is sensational, shout out to Chelsea and the front desk staff! The location is perfect, as is the amenities. Would 100% stay again. The only consideration is the car parking is off-premise, but it's very close to the hotel. Thank you for all the wonderful personalised touches during our stay!

Wow. What a great stay at Hadley’s. We were in the Heritage Suite “Amundsen” and it was incredible. We cancelled our plans and just stayed in our suite… that’s how good it was. A grand old hotel in the style of the best European hotels. The cocktail bar crew did a roaring trade on Friday night and it was a welcoming cosy spot for a nightcap.

From front desk, to hotel bar, to room service, every Hadley’s employee we interacted with was helpful, courteous, professional and cheerful. A perfect hotel stay for us… we really didn’t want to go home.

I see a few reviews complaining about parking (Hadley’s leases spaces in a car park building a couple of hundred metres away). We had no problem with this arrangement. It worked well and we can’t blame the 1826 builders for failing to build an underground parking garage when they built the place!

Probably not suited to hipsters or frequenters of black-bathroomed, avant-garde boutique hotels, but if you was classically styled heritage, with great staff, stay at Hadleys.

A lovely historic hotel in the centre of Hobart. Great service. Cosy bar. A hotel with character. I stayed here 30 years ago and am delighted to be back.

It has been nearly a year since our big event and I keep reminding myself to write a good feedback here. After checking different wedding venues around Hobart and being in communication with many event managers, we are so lucky to end up having our wedding organized at Hadley's. A big thank you may be not enough to show my appreciation to Cassandra and her team for amazing and accommodating customer service. Cassandra is very professional and quick in communication. She is always there to give me some suggestions and recommendation whenever I need. All staff in Hadley's are very friendly too. They helped me set up all decorations in the style that I want. We only need to drop off my stuff the night before the wedding day. We were offered a complementary night in such a clean and beautiful heritage room with early check that I found super helpful for us to do preparation before ceremony. The skylight in Atrium room is perfect as if our ceremony is being organized outdoor. Our wedding was on weekends but Cassandra was also there to coordinate everything, making sure everything going perfectly. The catering from the hotel restaurant is perfect. I got many complements about the food from my guests who are both local and from overseas. Their menu offers a wide range of food and beverage choices with reasonable price. Overall, it is our best decision to work along with Hadley's to organize our special day. We got so many beautiful photos captured by our photographer and will definitely comeback for our future vacation. If you are looking for a venue to organize your indoor event with a peace of mind, highly recommend Hadley's and Cassandra's team.

Absolute delight of a stay. Kellie was so helpful with all aspects of my stay. The dining rooms and bars are all beautiful. Immaculate cleaning job and the service to the rooms was fantastic. Without a doubt I'll be staying here again.

Charming and cosy hotel with a lovely history.

The Hadley's Orient Hotel is relatively a calm/quiet and intimate hotel in the center of Hobart.
Eerything during the stay was perfect, the hotel staffs, facilities, accommodation and food & beverage.

We spend 5 night here and we wish we stayed longer.

Thank you Hadley's Orient Hotel for making our first trip to Hobart so special.

This a very old building (1834) that is in keeping with the building preservation of Hobart. The rooms were tired but again much of the decor was in keeping with the style. The services offered were fantastic and you really can't go past it for location being five minutes from the piers and central to everything you need. We would definitely sty here again
