I wanted to try Tasmanian beef and ordered Rump 200g medium rare with redcurrant and thyme sauce. It was so good! Nice ambiance and tasty steak. Very tender and roasted veggies are good too. It must be good idea to pairing with a red wine.

Situated on Salamanca place, nestled in an old stone building built by convicts. This place is perfect for steaks. A selection of the best cuts from some of the best meat available in the country if not the world. We had the Tomahawk and beef cheek.
The cheek was tender, delicious and very flavoursome.
Tomahawk wasn’t dry aged weighing at 1.6kg which ended up being too much but well worth it. Specially if you feeling like a convict/caveman.
Wash it down with a solid red, I’m no sommelier but the Gala Pinot noir from eastern Tasmania was enjoyed by all on the table and stands by the notion: good wine is one that you enjoy.

Come here, grab a steak each or a hunk of Dino sized flesh on the bone to share and wash it down with a glass or 4.

We spent a week in Hobart and ate here 3 times. My brother in law highly recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Each time as consistently good as the last. Service was excellent, the meals and wine list were fantastic. If you do not have a booking, just come after 8 pm and there’ll be a table.

If you want to have a proper steak, this is the right place to go. This is one of the famous restaurants for tourists known for great authentic steak option. Once I got to the place, very friendly staffs greeted me and explained menus much professionally. Near enterance, you can see chef's skill grilling from very smoky grill. Good for Chinese tourists too. There's a Chinese language menu too

Nice ambiance. Cozy, classic, sandstone walls, vintage oil paintings. 1. Note...Odd selection of pop music that was renditioned in melancholy tones. If it were upbeat jazz it would 🤷 have been better. "Don't stop believing" was just sadly 😞 sad. Likewise for a Justin Beiber track. This is my only remark for improvement.

I dined at 8pm with a friend for dinner on a Tuesday. It's best to make reservations as it gets packed. Can't go wrong with ribeye filets super thick and tender. I tried the carpet bag which just means they've tucked two oysters enveloped inside of your steak. I could leave them. Yet I'm glad to say I tried it. The steak didn't come seasoned which I do prefer a little salt and pepper. Yet, you have your choice of excellent dipping sauces. I chose onion and mushrooms.

Paired with vintage Pinwolds Coonawarra Shiraz, one of Aussies finest reds, I highly recommend it. However, the wine list is quite extensive, with over 100 to choose from, you may find your favorite.

Lastly, the Chocolate mouse is quite Chocolaty nice with berries and cream. I must say the sticky date desert was my favorite served with a delicious buttery caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream a la mode.

Friendly and attentive staff. Cozy lighting and the meat is on refrigerated display, so you already know what they are working with 😉 Thank you to the lovely staff for an enjoyable experience.

Fabulous night. Enjoyed the steak. It was cooked well. I got the 300g rump. Great value. The mash and vegetables were the best bit cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce was divine. Probably wouldn’t get the pepper encrusted again. Too much pepper for me personally. The staff made our experience. Christy and Jing were so attentive. Christy remembered what each of us ordered. Jing was great fun. He gave us a complimentary port. Would recommend this restaurant. Be sure to book.

Caught up with a mate for dinner and we were blown away or you could say "rolled away" by the end of the night. Great food and generous portions. Try the ribs and wings combo for a little taste of everything 😉 The hazelnut tart is an absolute must try! We'll be back for steak the next time

Absolutely wonderful! Steaks were cooked to perfection (as well as the rest of the food)! Also, as a non drinker I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that a lot of the cocktails had the option to be made without the alcohol and were cheaper!

As a solo traveller, it is always a treat going out for a steak, and this place did not disappoint. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I hadn't had a sit-down meal for a while, so I was very excited to see the amount of vegetables and the quality of food. My rump was cooked to perfection, and it was one of the best pepper sauces I've ever had. I'll definitely be coming back if in Hobart again.

The food was sensational, steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare to our liking. To my surprise the soup of the day (creamy cauliflower soup with bacon and blue cheese) was delicious as I am not a huge fan of blue cheese. Friendly and helpful staff..Highly recommended, will definitely come back again when I'm visiting Hobart.

Jamie looked after us and his service was outstanding. What a lovely, efficient chap.
The steak was perfect, the vegetables were exquisite, we loved everything about our meal.
The dry aged Porterhouse was cooked medium rare and melted in your mouth. The Scotch Fillet was perfect.

An amazing grill with some outstanding beef.
I had a 350g sirloin steak and Adrienne had the Tasman platter. Both cooked to as close to perfection as you could ask for. Great staff who served us without fail, such a nice change.
For me, the consumate carnivore it was 10/10.p.s desert was in house made, again very lovely .

Excellent restaurant in the popular Salamanca place zone of Hobart. Great quality charcoal grill meats accompanied by tasty sides. Well worth a visit if in the area.
