Beautiful location and nice brews and food. As other reviewers have mentioned the tavern is separate from the beautiful old brewery building you see in the images.. though it didn’t matter as it was a great view. Not open late on Sunday’s so start your sesh early.

We did the Brewery tour, the guide was from our home town in Wollongong, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made our tour informative and enjoyable. Hubs discovered he liked the larger more than his regular beer and I loved the cider.
Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.

My hubby and I took part in the Brewery Tour. We were met by the super friendly Broden who gave us more insight about the beauty of Hobart (we told him it was our first trip to Tasmania). Our tour guide Elli was knowledgeable and very engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed the beer tasting after. I love the cider. They had a lovely garden as well. Would highly recommend.

We loved it so much my husband & I went twice on our short trip to Hobart from Melbourne. Food was amazing, beers preservative free & service lovely. We also did the 1hr tour & it was hosted so well. Highly recommend!

Great beer, live music and really good pub food! Would recommend a sunny evening dinner here. Such nice views of trees and well worth visiting for the good atmosphere.

Wonderful selection of beers that are exclusive to Tasmania. Apparently the mountain water is supposed to make it better too! We went for the tour and had the beer tasting paddle afterwards which gave us a chance to try a range of their beer choices. Hot chips were decent too!

Beautiful place for a relaxing drink. Had the beer tasting paddle which was just what you would expect from a major brewery in the best sense. Clean, simple and refreshing (except for the stout which obviously isn’t refreshing as such but perfect for cooler winter months). My partner after doing the tastings would now be happy to buy cascade beer.

I didn’t order any food but it looked really good at a distance and suitable for burgers, chips, salad etc. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Had a friendly visitor as you can see in my photos. Worth visiting just for the views alone on the short the drive from Hobart - mount Wellington looks so beautiful in the background!

The brewery and bar offer a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, with friendly staff and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. The beer tasting paddle is highly recommended, showcasing the clean, refreshing flavors of the beers.

The food options, such as burgers, chips, and salad, are visually appealing and suitable for all tastes. The surroundings provide stunning views, with Mount Wellington in the background adding to the beauty of the location.

The brewery itself holds much heritage, and a tour is available for those interested. The venue is well-maintained, with a rustic and charming aesthetic, both indoors and outdoors.

The staff are efficient and helpful, providing a dining experience that is exceptional. With an extensive drink menu and recent renovations, this place is a must-visit when in Hobart.

Nice experience if you’re keen for beers which have bitterness taste. Apparently it wasn’t my thing. The beef brisket needs more work on flavour. Service is attentive and good though. My personal rating for this place is 4.3/5

I did both the Historic Tour ($20) and the Brewery Tour, which included beer tasters ($35) and both were excellent and very interesting. Tour guides were great. I drank at the bar also and that was nice, there are nice gardens with an excellent view of the brewery.

What an awesome place to visit. Enjoyed the tour of the brewery which follows the whole beer making process. Loved the history behind this label. Finished with a paddle selection of beers. Gotta love the original pale ale.

Great place to come for dinner on a Saturday evening with live music, outdoor gardens complete with resident rooster. The scallop & fish pie was sooo tasty and the apple Cider pie delish! Sad to have missed the winter offer of mulled Cider. Definitely save that for next time. Lovely view and old buildings filled with history.

Most enjoyable tour around the brewery. We are over from the UK and staying in Hobart, it was a pleasant walk from the city to the brewery along the Hobart Rivulet path. Took around 40mins to get there.

We’ve always enjoyed our visits to Cascade for the great food and beers, but lately it’s the level of service that’s impressed us - it’s gone from great to exceptional! This will continue to be one of our ‘go-to’ lunch spots in Hobart, particularly when we have visitors. And one of our favourite places to bring our pup, who also loves it here!

As the oldest brewery in the whole of Australia, there is much heritage in these grounds. We dropped by for a half pint each, and took our time to explore the surrounding premises. Quite a popular spot on a weekend evening, with the place packed with patrons and some families.

A beautiful spot good for an afternoon catch up over uniquely Tasmanian brews.

Beautifully presented rustic brewery and bar. Wooden floor, indoor and outdoor setting with manicured gardens. There is a tour of the brewery on offer and tasting. However, you have to arrange or pre-book prior to arrival at the bar. Staff are helpful and efficient we were quickly offered a choice to either dine in at the bar area , indoor or outdoor setting overlooking the gardens. The whole bar venue itself is full of historical information with photos and historical information throughout the area. Pretty impressive. We ordered the Salmon entree platter and burger and wine. The salmon platter was very enticing and refreshing. The burger was in a brioche bun with accompaniment of battered chips. The burger was meaty and full of flavour. 💯💯💯👌Overall dining experience was exceptional.

I did the Brewery tour and tasting afterwards, and can highly recommend it. Our guide, Brodin, was a great host, delivering accurate history with personality and confidence and some amusing anecdotes along the tour. I came away when a pretty in-depth knowledge of how it started and where it stands as a brand today. Thanks so much Brodin. 👍
P.S. I did not eat there, so could not give a rating on the food.

A Tassie must do. The staff were friendly, the vibe and set up of the place is great. The outdoor area is beautiful and a pleasant place to sit on a nice day. The food is delicious and quick. Lastly, don’t look past trying a beer paddle board to get the full experience.
